What's up with that? You see everybody with their ankles taped several times in the NBA... wtf? I think that puts the knee to an even more disadvantageous position than just wearing high cut shoes alone. If you combine them both, the knee has to really compensate for the lack of ankle mobility.

why do you care?

Because you can learn from this and apply to yourself. Why do you care about commenting about something you don't care?

I wasn't talking about any shortcut, I was talking about a POSSIBLE stimulating thing. Whether that's feasible or not is debatable, hence this topic.

It takes ridiculous genetics to run a sub 10, even with steroids.

Don't let adarqui see that, we all have the same DNA!

I had this crazy idea come to my mind some few days ago: what if you're a guy who has his own squat rack/barbell to himself? Would unracking a 1RM+ barbell, holding it on your back for say 30 seconds, and racking it back, every day, for a few times per day, do anything?

I mean, it could trick your CNS into thinking you're heavier, just like a weight vest would. Now obviously there are a handful of questions arising (is there enough time under the bar to make this adaptation occur? is it too risky on the spine? etc) but I thought it was an interesting experiment to take if someone is willing to do it.

For example, if your squat 1RM is 300 lbs and you unrack a 350 lbs bar 10 times per day (throughout the day) for 30 s each time, you'd end up with 300s of total "unrack" TUT daily, so that' 2100 s each week of having a 1RM+ barbell on your back. That's 35 minutes of stimulation per week with a heavier barbell than usual. Not to mention the core strength benefits.

Again, it comes down to injury risk vs. reward possibility.

If I'm tired at 10 reps I stop at 10 reps. No need to die with a bar on your back.

I never understood why you'd ever buy a program. There's the internet nowadays, tons of free info available, and when you think about it, it's not even that complicated. Get your squat up, practice your jumps and overload the movement with depth jumps/bounds/sprints and that's pretty much it. Get bodyfat down if it's high and that's it.

I have had the same things happen to me while jumping several times with continued pain. I have a knee condition called bipartita patella. This means that my knee cap is in two pieces instead of 1 fused patella. I was diagnosed with this in high school and have suffered ever since then. I have avoided alot of sporting activities and lifting for a long time. I have recently got back into strengthening and basketball. The pain has come back just as before. I recently saw an orthopedic Dr. and xrays confirmed that the bipartita patella is still the same...not fused....this coupled with a weight bearing activity like jumping and or bending at the knee can cause this 2 part knee cap to rub together and cause pain under the knee. This isnt the only thing that I have uncovered with my problem. I have been getting deep tissue massages on my legs including and focusing on my IT Band. I have alot of pain and tension in the lateral leg. I mean extreme pain in those tendons with deeper pressure. I believe that this along with some other muscular tension, leg flexibility and leg weakness is contributing to my pain and or my knee giving out. I am trying to get the legs stretched out, strengthened and massaged. I am also doing some PT soon so will see what they say. I would get an Xray to see if you may be 1% of the population that has bipartita patella and go from there. Good Luck

Does your knee "click" on the side (lateral side)? Mine does and it also hurts there, and you can feel "stuff" move there when I go from full extension into say 20 degree flexion.

Yeah, it was pretty funny. The only amendaments from that text is that I kind of eat lots of sugars (like 600-800 kcal from chocolates etc) every day. Otherwise, my diet is pretty clean.

It happened to me, and happens every now and then... not to the point of falling down but you get the idea - my quad sometimes forgets to fire and lets the knee collapse forward/down... it happens. It's usually when I feel lazy, and I kind of feel lazy all the time.

If you're tired chances increase of this happening.

I need to back that up.

I don't like to test maxes too often, but I know what you mean. Currently yeah, I'm training daily, 2x per day. Will take breaks every now and then, probably tomorrow.
