Progress Journals & Experimental Routines / Re: Party's Over!
« on: January 07, 2019, 02:02:30 am »
Rest Day.

Soreness-
Quads and Glutes- Damn squats!!!

I'll be sprinting tomorrow. I'm planning to do ME sprints of 3x60m and 2x100m. 6 minutes rest between the 60's and 10 minutes of rest between the 100's.

Didn't quite follow the plan as my feet were feeling a bit stiff (achilles tendon and left toe).

Ended up doing ME 2x60m with 6 minutes rest and 2x100m with 10 minutes rest.

I didn't time the 60m but the 2nd one felt better than the first, which is usually the case for me as I get warmed up.

1x100m- 11.9 (11.94)
1x100m- 12.1 (12.06)

I want to try and do 1 sprinting session a week for the next couple of months and hopefully improve these times.

Squat-

60x6
80x6
100x3
107.5x3
82.5x9

Treadmill-
200 calories including 2:30 minutes at 17km/h (3:31 minute km speed). I was breathing heavily afterwards but atm it's still more of a mental challenge as the speed is still comfortable for me.

Also today kind of a buzz kill my buddy strained his back during deadlifts and was pissed. He did everything you're not supposed to and i even told him so and he ignored my advice and kept doing it. I even told him if it's not too bad to just swim for awhile but noooooo.

So ill be working out by myself again for awhile.

Tomorrow

Run/walk
Mile-5 min walk-mile-5 min walk
Just do that for 4 miles so 1hr total.

Then upper body mostly chest and arms with a little bit of shoulders.

I want to do man makers, pretty much a db hex row in a plank position then imagine a burpees with the dumbbell without the push up

I hope your friend recovers quickly.

Boxing / Re: Misc Boxing News

:ffffffuuuuuu: What a shit fight.

I have never seen anyone flail so much as tenshin when received jobs and not even powerful hits by mayweather. A great kickboxer who reacted so much to such hits to the head and body. even though mayweather was using his legs to get him off balance at times. But mayweather just blasted tenshin's career.

If you want to see the disgraceful matchup, it is below.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJgBfZDisIk

It was an exhibition boxing match.

The rules for the three-round contest — organised by The Rizin Fighting Federation and held at Saitama Super Arena on the northern outskirts of Tokyo — were no kicking allowed and no official record of the match.

He's 4 inches shorter than Mayweather with even less reach and 10 lbs lighter. I don't think anybody expected it to be soo one sided but it's hardly career ending for a 20 year old.

On Saturday I caught a train out to Werribee to meet a friend I played rugby with. We arranged to meet at a local pub and it was one of the most feral pubs I've ever been to. I got there at 4pm and half the patrons were already pissed off their heads and there was an unusually high amount of head/neck tattoos. I went to the urinal and people had defecated in it and there were flies everywhere- it was fkn disgusting. I went to the disabled toilet and it was even worse! The bathrooms were uninhabitable.

Hahahahaha. Werribee!!! Does not surprise me at all.

Let me know the next time you're in Melbourne. I'll take you to a slightly less neck tatted area ;D

Yeah definitely a place I won't forget!

I probably won't go to Melbourne for another couple of years now but I was very impressed with all the infrastructure occurring and the amount of commercial buildings in the CBD. Adelaide is such a rust bucket city in comparison. Unfortunately I haven't utilised my holidays very well in terms of searching for new jobs. However, if I can't see myself having a meaningful career in Adelaide and expanding my skills I could see myself relocating to Melbourne in the future.

Sydney has jobs but it is overrated and too expensive. I like Brisbane but there are less job opportunities than Melbourne. Perth is struggling and the distance is too isolating. The only bad thing about Melbourne is the beers! Surely some pubs could have Super Dry on tap instead of Carlton Draught and VB :P

PS- adarqui I won't be going back there haha

I'm back from my Melbourne holiday. It's such a nice city and massive compared to my home city. Unfortunately I was sick (Gastro) on my first couple of days of the holiday so I couldn't do as much sight seeing as I would've liked and spent a lot of time on the toilet with diarrhea and vomiting any food/liquid I ingested. On Friday night I drank some Gatorade and it cured my symptoms.

I arrived before my friend so I bought a beer and went out to the beer garden for a smoke to kill the time. So I go outside and within 30 seconds of being there an old drunk man wearing a santa hat is yelling out "you black bastard" to a random African teenager walking past to the amusement of his acquaintances. I thought if the African had come back and retaliated I was definitely not going to stop him. However, he kept walking so I said "that's not a very nice thing to say". The old santa man said to me "I don't like them" so I told him "keep your opinions to yourself". He didn't say anything back to me he just shut his mouth and his acquaintances gave me some dirty looks but didn't say anything. We all sat in awkward silence until I finished my smoke and left.

Eventually my friend rocked up and we went back to his house and drank a cartoon of beer.

I've been really slack with training for the last 10 days. I finished work last week and haven't trained since the beginning of last week.

Friday Night-
Went to a work dinner straight after work to an Italian restaurant and had a 5 course meal.

Saturday-
Had guests come over staying from interstate for Christmas. They just left today (Wednesday).

I'm off to Melbourne tomorrow for a few days so I won't be training until New Years.

I hope everyone had a great Xmas! Happy New Years and I'll be back updating my blog again in 2019 once festivities are over.

Notes:
Sadly that's two squat workouts ruined by 'couples who train together'. They end up RIGHT next to me and i just feel self conscious cos i dont want to demasculate the invariably weak little dude who is with his woman and you're just trying to hit a PR and need to be mentally dialled in and aggressive. I have no problem being aggressive if the dude is training alone, or if it's two women, or a strong dude and a woman, but something about the combination of a weak guy trainer with his gf just kills my mood. I feel like if i act aggressive i'll be making him look bad infront of his woman so i just lose the mental battle out of politeness. Sucks cos before they showed up the gym was practically empty, as soon as i get to my last warmup before the first workset, (both days) the couples show up and then i gotta watch the weak guy balance plates around me in my peripheral because he's not respecful enough to wait for the guy lifting heavy to finish his set. Might say something next time, like you girls are killing it.

Change your attitude brother! Instead of feeling sorry for someone for being weak and not wanting to 'show them up', you should lift even bigger to inspire and motivate them.

Sunday-
Rest.

Monday-

Exercise Bike-
225 calories

Squat-
60x6
90x5
102.5x5x3

Chin Ups + 15kg
5x3

Treadmill-
150 calories including 2:30 minute jog @ 16.2 km/h. As I increase the speed these jogs are getting more difficult and starting to feel more like runs, particularly after I've been running for 2 minutes I'm just staring at the clock counting down the seconds haha.
