I think Curry now knows how Lebron feels. Great player with a supporting cast.

Ibaka = block city. Favourite part of the game (I know 2 of them were goal tending but don't care)

Glad Lowry had a big game too. Will no doubt help him in the rest of the series.

5am training
bw - ? batteries flat in scales (may not be a bad thing for a bit)- down a bit based on the mirror eye test.

Calf Stretch- 2 mins per side

Heavy Sled- 3 x 20m
Split Squat (front foot elevated 2")- bw x 10, +12 x 10, +16 x 10
Seated GM- +10 x 10, 20 x 10, 30 x 10

SL Calf Raise- +10 x 10, 20 x 10
Low cable pull in (cable attached to feet lying down)- 40lbs x 10, 10

Full Rom Dips- bw x 4, 4
DB Ext Rotation- 5kg x 10, 10

Stretches x 2min each
90:90, butterfly, seated pancake

I'm taking things slowly. Had some right knee pain so elevated the split squats. Pain completely gone on 3rd set which was great. Time to build these back up. Seated GM isn't great at the moment so may switch these up for something that doesn't aggravate my back. Maybe DB horse squats, idk. All in all a good training sesh.

Awesome goal mate. I actually think you have a good chance of getting it if you have some clear air to train hard.

Thanks mate. Yeah me too. I think there's a lot of stones I've left unturned in the past.

Plantar Fascia and Tibialis Stretch- 2 mins each

Reverse Sled Drag- 3 x 120m
Poliquin Step Up- bar x 20, 30 x 20, 45 x 20
J Curl- 16 x 5, 20 x 5, 25 x 5

Tibialis raise- 2 x 20
Hanging leg raise- knees bent on way up, straight on way down- 2 x 10

Incline DB Press- 12.5s x 10, 15s x 10
Face Pull- 40lbs x 10, 50lbs x 10

Ball game was ok. We lost by 6 but we were down by 15 after 5 minutes. Basically asleep at the wheel for the start of the game. I played ok. Still getting over the back issue from a couple of weeks back. Feeling good in game but missing a step of pace and some height from my vert.

Stretching- Couch and pigeon stretches.

New log time. Been contemplating this for a bit. Fresh start and all. Really though I've been faffing about for a while now and think a new log without the clutter of the previous one will help me focus. One main goal for this log is to have a recorded 40" vert by my 40th birthday which is in roughly 349 days. My most recently recorded vert test was 32" in mid April this year off the back of maybe 4 weeks of consistent training. Weighing in at 90-91 at the time. I'm not sure I can add 8" in 12 months but I can certainly try. All training will be focused on this one goal.

The following is a checklist of items I think I need to tick off in order to reach the goal:
- bw of 85kgs- I have at least 6-7kgs of fat I can lose. Want to be no more than 8%.
- consistent jumping practice- practice that skill
- Loose calves, quads and hip flexors- these have been tight for years. Like decades.
- Have elite core strength- this is the one area I've never trained. I've had decent squatting and deadlifting strength. Never had good or decent core/hip flexor strength. This could be a huge missing link for me.

Great first half! Let's see if they can hold it together in the third quarter.

Ball game last night. Still pretty sore but once I warmed up I was good to go. Fairly easy game and played in pretty good spirits which was nice. Body felt great after but feels like rubbish again this morning. Will train this arvo and see if I can get it moving again.

As mentioned the other day. Body felt like rubbish the day after the game. Noticed something pretty ridiculous today. I've been "eating clean" the last couple of days. When I say clean I mean proper clean. Low-ish carb, decent protein, moderate fat. Still been having a big bowl of porridge at night to try and get the carbs up. My body the last 2 days has almost felt like a permanent cramp and really just horrible. Really a lot through the hips and back. Also massively in the ankles. I just assumed I had over done it on the weekend or really put myself through the wringer on the court. I just had 4 eggs on 2 decent slices of sourdough bread with 3 florentines on the side. Sitting back at my desk and I just realised there's almost no pain. Feels like I've just dropped a couple of hard pain pills. There's some stiffness still there but as for actual pain...not much. Crazy!

i've had the *EXACT* same thing happen to me, several times (i've journaled it).

i've come to realize it's not the protein, but it's the saturated fat/cholesterol which "fixes" you. Just like you, trying to eat "clean" (lol) - no dairy & infrequent meat/eggs, i eventually start feeling incredibly weak & achy, then I can't take it anymore and I eat eggs or a steak -> and i'm back on track. Whole milk also does the trick for me. I've been eating alot cleaner lately, but getting in my milk, so i feel fine. I've had chicken/meat like twice in 2 weeks but feel great.. because i'm getting in that whole milk. Without it i'd be wrecked. I've been thinking about getting eggs again but i'm just too "lazy" at the moment, don't feel like making them. But they really are the truth when it comes to nutrition IMHO.

Damn that's crazy. I'm going to have to track this properly. I feel like when I try to eat clean I end up in purgatory by not doing either thing well. I can live off meat and eggs though. Sounds like the perfect diet to me lol.

I'm going to have to check your journal too. It's about the third time it's happened to me but I never realise till it's too late.

Woke up sore AF this morning. Left ankle and my entire back. All the parts are sore. Was going to train today but might just do some light stretching tonight and get back into it tomorrow. On the plus side I'm down 1kg so on the way. Only 7 more to go.

Ball game in the pm. Good game. Against the grand finalists from last season who beat us then. We played ok but missed a lot of shots. They did the same. We were down by 1 with 14s left and  our guy got fouled on a fast break. Best shooter on our team. Missed both free throws with 2.7 on the clock and then our team missed 2 put back attempts. I may or may not have been sitting on the bench after fouling out though haha.

that dunk .. look how far he takes off from .. two leg, with giannis between the rim. ok this guy is on another level ...

yea that was nasty & yea Kawhi is on another level.

Kawhi tried to REALLY bang it on Giannis a few minutes later.. Giannis blocked the fu*k out of him. hah. Had MIL won, that would be the play we remember.

RIP MIL.

Kawhi is one of the few elites currently playing. People need to chill saying he's better than LEBRON tho..  :ninja:

I really love watching Kawhi play. He reminds me of Federer.. Just always calm, composed, laser focused, surgical precision, and absolutely lethal. Great on both ends of the floor.

This is a great comparison.

omfg at these stats.

POR lead every game at some point by:

GAME 1: +5
GAME 2: +17
GAME 3: +18
GAME 4: +17

insanity.

This makes me even sadder. Games 2-4 are like the JR Smith moment. You only get so many chances against GSW. POR should have won game 2 & 3 definitely and just imagine the momentum they would have had. I know Dame and Kanter are both injured but still. Curry played with a fucked finger and still killed it.
