You're not going to jump very well at 19% bodyfat. Buy yourself a heavy kettlebell and start doing interval swings everyday for fat loss if you're enclosed in an office all day long.

If there's anything that catched my eye, it's Lance talking about a fleshlight some posts back. Can we please get back to that?

I like how J-DUB's posts always get +1. Which probably means he has a second account in here.

Anyway,

Nice videos and descriptions, but how about good ol' plain explosiveness? And reaction speed? Any exercises for that?

What about strength? Just calf raises or?

Hey sickening, I'm the boss of an NBA team and you're my hired trainer.

And I'm not happy with my white and weak (1x squat) white rookie I just drafted and I want to get him quicker (note - I haven't said stronger). I want him to run a bit faster. Faster than retired center Greg Ostertag. He beats my guy in a 30m footrace.

Here's Greg:

Greg's a bit old now at 40+, but still, he kicks my guy's ass.

So how are you going about into making my rookie player faster? What are you going to do? The deadline is one year.

Fine, but use proper grammar the next time. Your =/= you're. Your sweater is yellow =/= You're a troll. The " ' " takes place for the "a". So you're = you are. You're a troll = You are a troll.

Is being able to dunk the final stage in athletic development?

Kenny George was such a great athlete. He could dunk without jumping!

I remember Vince training with a NFL friend back in his prime athletic days. Also, Blake Griffin is kind of doing conditioning work but I haven't seen much explosive work from him.

Haha, I know, what I love with BSS is that I can overload the legs without necessarily overloading my back. I can also play with stance length to get different recruitment levels.

Think about it - doing BSS with 40 kg dumbbells (80 kg in total) is like doing bilateral squats with 160 kg in terms of leg stimulation. Now I realize it's more to that than just weight but still, it's just a great thing to do.

The back leg side still contributes significantly in the BSS AFAIK.

Might want to check out the EMG study mentioned here though:

Yeah it does, just by putting your leg out there you're taking out some of the weight off the working leg.

BTW guys, I'm the OP and it seems like I just needed some straight up glute exercises to reactivate them or something?

I did BSS on Saturday which got my glutes sore.  All of a sudden I started feeling it in my glutes during my dead lifts today, AND a LITTLE bit on my squats lol.  Like 4 of the 20 total reps I felt it.  I'll keep BSS as a supplementary exercise to keep my glutes active.

Thank you sir.

I'd personally go even further and make the BSS as the MAIN lift in one of my days. I just love it too much right now.

What happens if you jump off one leg? I mean, trying to dunk? You should film some attempts.

RTFL ( Read The Fucking Log )!!!  :pissed:

SLRVJs : max 28'' , repeatable

You should film them. What happens if you jump up with a ball you can palm (volleyball or basketball, whatever).
