Wait, you squat 152.5 for 10 reps? :o

Well I don't mind it too much. To each his own, though. At least your respectful to me unlike many douchebags in America...

I'm in no position to even hint what your belief should be. I can have an opinion but I'm limited to that. As long as you (whoever you are) don't try to impose stuff on other people, you're free to choose whatever you want to believe in, and that should be the way for each and every person on Earth.

If I were to listen to every critic I had every time I layed out something I would be sitting on my ass and get fat. Just do your thing and most importantly, keep things simple.

They look great on paper when you write them and think about them, and overcomplicate them and all that, but in the actual gym, when you do it, simple = win.

Been fasting since 3:30am (it's 4:15pm here now). Can't eat or drink till 8pm.

Could never understand what food has to do with God or religion.

It is believed by muslims that everything that God prohibits is for our own good (alcohol, masochism, smoking, uncleanliness) EXCEPT for fasting. Food and water during sunlight hours of ramadan is the only thing that is prohibited not for our own good, but strictly for the love of God. However it also teaches us self-control, how it feels to be hungry and thirsty every day and thus compel us to give to those that don't have, to appreciate the food/water that we do have, and a few other things.

Well it makes and doesn't make sense at the same time. It could also be a biological thing since some studies point to the health benefits of fasting. But nobody would do it unless scared by a "divine sacrilege".

Ok then will leave it at 146 same as my squat.

Just because, you know, the difference between 146 lbs and 140 kg is not that big.

ADARQ & LanceSTS - Q&A / Re: One-leg strength jumping exercises
« on: August 08, 2011, 02:50:24 pm »
I used to have this in the past happen very often, but rarely now. It still happens if I don't jump using acceleration and using a constant speed instead because I learned to "force my way up" in an accelerative manner now for quite some time, so I mess things up when I try to jump reactively.

ADARQ & LanceSTS - Q&A / Re: One-leg strength jumping exercises

You need to teach your body to accept a high amount of force in the plant, so the best thing is to overload that movement by bounding and sprinting. Also, the stronger you are the less you're going to experience that since the muscles will be able to lock and hold that leg "straight" (prevent knee collapse).

The white guy is the guy that was squatting with me some time ago. He's at 120x3 at the moment, if he would increase his leg strength a bit more he'd absolutely destroy.

On what surface do you do your plyos on? If it's different than what you're usually using for jumping, then that difference in elasticity/surface compliance CAN generate splint shins. For example, if you do plyos on track mat and jumping on plywood then they will have different compliance levels and will generate different loads/different inflammation stimuli.
