man you should totally do it. quick google reveals that the USATF tennessee association championships are in june but i bet there are smaller meets. here's an open track club in knoxville: http://www.tnelitetc.org/.

not to push you in that direction or anything!

not really a plyometric exercise, more akin to a jump squat. kellyb has advocated that kind of weighted BSS jump, i think, although when i've done them before i've split the weight into two lighter DBs, rather than using one held at chest level.

EDIT: lost that bar forward like whoa. you're up on your toes almost immediately. are your submax squats also biased forward?

alright so adarq had some advice for me, as i mentioned. a few things:

- more DLRVJ
- more squatting
-- consider LTMP*, maybe in conjunction with MSEM
-- consider MEBM once per week
- some reactivity/power accessory work for shoulder power and power in triple extension
- keep post-jumping weight room work brief because of sneaky CNS fatigue

basically, i responded okay to the FIF workout frequency, but it didn't necessarily give me the best bang for the buck in terms of exercise prescription. i need to be stronger, and i need to be better AT JUMPING.

i'm still trying to figure out how to turn that into a weekly schedule. one thing i should definitely do is get back to early bed/early wakeup. jumping before work is much easier than after because the gym is generally free before 7:30 AM. i tried it before and my problem was bedtime discipline. but if i'm in bed by 11 i can make it work. on that note, i'm going to bed.

*good excuse to go read this vintage adarq.org post: http://www.adarq.org/performance-training-blog/length-tension-motor-pool-sessions-(ltmp-sessions)/

i've been jumping in lotto quaranta ii tennis shoes. cushioned and structured like bball shoes, low-tops, and lighter than all but the most minimal running shoes, only 7.5 oz. and they're cheap as shit.

EDIT: actually i just bought another pair lol.

4.47 is fast as hell. wonder what you'd run now. ever think about sprinting, trying to do a 100 or 200? i bet you could run low-11s if you worked at it.

got some training advice/input from adarq that i will talk about later. new york was great, my cousin's play is pretty freaking intense and dark but i liked it a lot.

WEIGHT: ???

ACHES/INJURIES: right knee
MENTAL STATE: okay

- warm up

- DLRVJ x 5-6; short approach DLRVJ x 6-7
not great but not awful.

- MSEM squat 275 x 6

- superset x 2
-- DB OHP 55s x 6,6
-- ME pogo x 8
-- pull up +20 x 6,5+bw x 1

- stretch

ACHES/INJURIES: head
MENTAL STATE: good

didn't plan to work out today but i had a persistent bad headache so left work early. thought i could warm my way up out of it at the gym. i was wrong.

oh man i really wouldn't recommend using more weight on one side than the other. no basis in anything other than ZOMG YOU'RE GONNA HURT YOURSELF. but that seems dangerous and unlikely to produce the desired effect.

it's been suggested before i think for correcting imbalance by lyle but not in the context of barbell stuff. I'm also using a lighter weight. But. It's still not ideal. Im not sure what i can do right now about this problem but it's something i'd like to address for the long term

yeah i mean for DBs it'd be one thing, although i would do them separately and not at the same time. the BB thing wigs me out, though.
