I'd hate to repeat "stop being an emo" at each and every of my posts! :ninja:

Well first off, according to a couple walking by my mom, I'm all muscle and FIT. Go figure.

Secondly, I don't know about the two leg bounds but like in my two leg jumps I feel I'm putting out VERY little power vs. what I'm capable (or I should be capable) of developing. Is like when I jump I transform myself into a guy with a max squat of 80 kg.

And thirdly, it just comes naturally for me to "move" like that in the one-leg bound. Just like in my sprint, I go short and fast for some reason. I would REALLY REALLY love to use a double arm swing in my jumps and bounds, I guess I need to go submaximally for a while to develop a double arm swing jump, although it feels 100% unnatural and "overloady".

ADARQ & LanceSTS - Q&A / Sucking at half squats?
« on: September 20, 2011, 06:43:21 pm »
I remember the earlier discussions with Steven Miller about him and his half squats and I was thinking about my half squat and why does it suck so much.

And now looking at my heaviest 1RM (145 kg) full squat I can see that the sticking point occured actually in this particular position of the half squat (if you look, it happens in maybe the most jump specific position in the squat in terms of angles).

I was wondering if in your experience met anything similar in somebody - being good at full squats but bad at two footed jumps and half squats. And if so, how to "correct" (assuming everybody should pretty much have a bigger (sometimes considerably) half squat than full squat) this. Is it just a matter of half squatting and adapting or is it more?

Thanks.

So we're kind of the opposite. In a way I'd wish I'd be better at half squats but I suck at them and tend to get injured when I do half squats.

I wasn't aware you never full squat and you only half squat. Is that so?

i think you neglect reactive work/jump rope.. because of the cardio issue.

I think you're right. And yeah, two hand jumps should be better when doing consecutive VJs to touch the rim. Thanks.

I'd be dead scared of running on grass. It can have hidden holes or you can slip on it.

I have that wallpaper on the wall in front of my bed autographed by Ziani himself. I use it as motivation every morning when i wake up.

To what? To going negative? What about your spare tire? What about 6L of cocoa?
