Monday 12/27/2010:

-Warmup
-Double leg bounds: 4x5
-MR Tuck Jumps: 4x10
-MR Pogos: 4x5

-Squats: 205x3x5  :personal-record:
-GHR: 8,7,6 (Kinda pr-ish. Never done eight before)
-BB Calf Raise: 155x4x10

-Pullups: 2x8 (very strict)
-Dips: 2x15

-Cooldown, Stretch + PWO shake.

Squats kinda hurt... I'll probably keep the weight there at least another week. Doing that much for reps started hurting my back. I gotta let it keep up with all the DL's. Aside from that, pretty good workout. Gym was closed way too long for my liking.

Lol. I was just kidding. But I will look up some of her videos.

I guess that's a no on her info....

Vacation starts tomorrow. Gonna be in NYC, then Connecticut and upstate(ish) NY, where my mom's family is. Home on the 27th. While gone it's gonna be nonstop visiting, but I'm going to try to get some workouts in for general conditioning. E.g. Ross Enamait's deck of cards. Possibly even jumping rope if my uncle's basement ceiling is high enough. At least, gonna get some good stretching in. Hopefully by next Tuesday my hip will be back in working order and I can get back to the real business of trying to put a leather-and-rubber ball through a metal hoop ten feet off the ground.

squat your GF for reps, deadlift your GF for reps, curl your GF for reps, floor press your GF for reps.

bam

The logic in that is so far beyond brilliant that I can't even begin to describe how genius that is.

He's done some pretty creepy things with his body to get certain parts to play right. It's insane. From the still in the video before playing he almost looks malnourished.

ya man, i have so much respect for that stuff.. that's hardcore.. he's not even christian bale in this movie, he's a ex fighter crackhead nutbag family man.. lol.. you'd think he was seriously on crack in this movie haha, who knows, he's so intense about getting the parts right, maybe he is.. hah

Haha. Christian Bale on crack. You're right, from the part, he actually looks like would be on it... haha. When I first saw the clip I didn't even recognize him.

I know it's already happened, but it seems to be happening more often.

He's one of the developers for Monday Night Combat too.

Rhodiola rosea. (Arctic herb if I remember right). Pilot studies have shown to improve physical and mental performance, alleviating fatigue, and reducing high-altitude sickness. It may be effective for improving mood and alleviating depression. Scientists explain that Rhodiola Rosea most likely affects multiple systems in the body to promote emotional well-being, mental clarity/sharpness, and physical endurance. Stimulates neurotransmitter activity in the Central Nervous Systme and my affect Norepinephrine, Serotonin, Acetylcholine and Dopamine availability in neuropathways that control anxiety and mood stability. Further lab studies have shown Rhodiols rosea to enhance permeability of the blood-brain barrier to Dopamine and Serotonin.

Basically... it promotes healthy neurotransmitter balance in the brain and provides some relief for depressed mood, mood changes, mental/physical fatigue.

Not too sure about the physical fatigue. But from my experience with it it definitely helps mental fatigue. All my best hurdle days and workout days I've been on rhodiola. (Not to say that's the reason, but I think it's definitely helped)

Oh, definitely. I did my warmup jogging upstairs from the smaller courts and saw some kids playing, so after I got my reactive work done I just kinda went, "hmmmm.... I wonder how high on the net I can touch now...." Wasn't really expecting to touch rim. Oh, and I confirmed (at least kinda close) the rim was at 10'. Tried doing it on the main courts after the basketball game was over. At first I didn't get it and I wondered why, so I just eyeballed it with my hand reaching towards the net, went to the one I had done it on earlier. Looked exactly the same. Couldn't get rim at first there either but then I realized I had finished squats about an hour earlier. Tried a couple more times and got it then, but only once. Still felt way cool.

Increased leg power ftw indeed.
gratz man, next stop grabbing rim

Definitely. It's not really something I worry about because I never play basketball and I'm not really too focused on vertical, but it is nice to have. Just another measure of how much I've improved.
