Haha yeah I know. It's funny because I went from a running shoe to that shoe I used in that video immediately, and the difference between the foam sole (of the running shoe) and the rubber sole of that shoe in the video is so big as far as how the leg loads. And if you wear running shoes now and then switch to those rubber outsole shoes, then you're bound to happen stuff like this ^^^

But the truth is I was really tired yesterday and that's that. I put this up only for people to see, in their own experiences when they have a "flat tire", what's actually going on. Obviously you can collapse at different joints etc, but you get the idea.

You can even see the plant-"attack" wasn't proper either, it's like my body said "hey the glutes/hams are tired, I don't want to load them too much, why don't you load the quad a ton instead?"

I only know the rule of the middle finger.

I don't get this % thing.

Let's say I have a guy jumping 10 inches and a guy jumping 35 inches naturally. Are you telling me the guy jumping 35 inches has a chance of increasing his jump by 11 inches while the 10 inches guy has a chance of increasing by 3 inches? It doesn't make any sense. A % of a higher number will be a higher number, and it doesn't make sense that a guy that already has a high jump has more of a potential than a guy that doesn't have a high jump.

Now I know there are a ton of factors involved, but still.

I was very tired and out of it today, and a few of these ^^^ happened. Notice the extreme knee bend in the jumping leg and the blown plant as a result. In fact, I'm surprised I even got these off:

Will rest a few days and film again, and see the difference.

You could also do isometric knee extension holds on an edge of a bed or something. Although I don't really like to do isometrics before dynamic movements. Maybe half an hour before or something.

Muscles are nonsensical they have nothing to do with this bullshit.

What did Rippetoe EVER DID TO YOU?!

:D

Yeah we've discussed your article a while back. I agree with it. I think of the points A B and C, a lot of people need to improve B. A lot of people start weight training and slowly fade away from jumping to the point where they don't jump at all. They jump 2 or 3 times and call it a day. If you already have established patterns in jumping, maybe you'd get away with it. But EVEN THEN I'd still jump quite a lot.

Instead, a lot of people just become strength training guys and then wonder why they don't jump well.

You're retarded. You really are. You started with the premise that I tried to use the "fancy word "protagonist"" and because I don't know any better, I mispelled it and looked bad because of that. So you basically think I was trying to be arrogant and failed. If you knew any better then you'd see how I always use that word and it's not arrogant by any means.

But whatever man... show your diploma everywhere and be happy you did something in your life.

By the way - nice discussion by you on the actual subject of this thread. A real contribution.

Luckily for me, posts like yours don't bother me anymore.

At least a kinesiology genius guru like you understood me, wow! Imagine if you didn't have that education, oh boy! I'm so impressed.

This is beyond silly.

Because "protagonist" is a synonime to "agonist". Or maybe it isn't. I'm sorry I wasn't born in an English-speaking country. I should be ashamed of myself. I wonder how well you speak Romanian. Or French. Or German? What's that? Oh...

I understand that you are not from America, so why try to use/make up the most complicated sounding words when you could get the point across with much less complex verbiage. If I was in your country, i wouldn't ask for a "carbonated beverage" i would ask for a "drink" or "soda"... you always make it out to sound like you have some educational background in anatomy/physiology/kinesiology with the way you talk and make up theories and hypotheses, but then you use the word "protagonistig" to talk about prime mover muscles. Why not just use words anyone on the forum can understand and comprehend, prime mover is much more self explanatory and informative than "protagonistig muscles." Think of how Kelly Baggett writes: simple, concise, where anyone can understand his point.

I miswrote "protagonistic". What's so unusual about that? We say "protagonist" for the "agonist" muscle in Romanian.

From PRO and ANTI. Protagonist and Antagonist.

And the fact that you understood what I meant proves I use the words well.

As for the educational background - I don't care about that and I have never pretended that. What I pretend is that I've read quite a lot and I have done quite a lot in the field. And I jump pretty well too despite having nerdish genetics and a nerdish background (haven't played sports until 15-16 years old).
