What does your 1200-1500 calories look like food/macro wise?

It varies -

but basically I have dinner with either 250g reheated cold rice or 400-500g of boiled low carb potatoes or 300-350g mashed potatoes for resistant starch and the filling-ness
Potatoes for the potassium, which I add sea salt and lots of cracked black pepper  (needed for the fasts electrolytes wise)
Then some form of protein, usually no more than 150-200g of steak or more of chicken, and 200g of stir fried veges

second meal later in the night is just 500g of reheated cold boiled potatoes, loaded with salt and black pepper

The above gets me to around 1000 or so calories
If I'm not super calorie restricting I will add some protein to this second meal

The meals get me pretty full, but my stomach has shrunk a bit since I started fasting
And potatoes are super filling

Great work!

I knew you would lose weight by calories out < calories in but I was interested in whether you were tracking your macros / the kind of food you were eating. Since you're doing the snake diet it sounds similar to intermittent fasting, which doesn’t specify which foods you should eat but rather when you should eat them. You're eating the right foods so I'm not surprised you're losing weight and most importantly body fat.

Nice work on the  :ibsquatting:

Thanks mate. Only another 80kg to go  :P. I'm just realising now how out of condition I am though. Clean pulls today and my legs are completely fucked!

2.5kg at a time!

Your conditioning will improve with time as well.

I watched the Saints v Seahawks game. The Saints did really well despite not having Drew Brees. Alvin Kamara is such a beast. He's like a pinball machine he just bounces straight out of tackles and makes play after play. Deonte Harris is lightening.

"He's like a pinball machine" lol

ya he is. he's incredible.

watched that game yesterday. solid 5th qtr come back by the seahawks.

Seahawks did alright but I always thought the game was over by 3rd quarter. Terry Bridgwater did a great job by just letting Kamara do his thing and playing fairly conservative.

I had an interview today as a 'Decision Maker' at the Department of Home Affairs. I applied for this position back in June. The position is conducting interviews with clients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and processing visa and citizenship applications. I didn't hear anything back until August where I got invited to a 'Work Sample Test', which was a 45 minute written assessment to a couple of questions. At the time I thought I did okay in the written assessment, although I didn't hear back from them.

About 3 weeks ago I received an email inviting me to an interview. There was a panel of 3 people and the interview went for approximately 30 minutes. After the interview I thought I aced it, but as always there is always room for improvement. Personally I thought I could have clarified a couple of explanations I provided. I asked when I was likely to hear back on whether I was successful at attaining the position and they said mid-late October. It's similar pay to my current position but being in Federal Government it's 15.4% super and great job security. I'll wait and see what happens.

5 weeks later and I'm still having intense Achilles pain. I can barely walk without limping. I had an ultrasound done and they confirmed that the Achilles was still in tact (not ruptured) but noted that there was a severe amount of inflammation, which is evident just looking at my Achilles. 38 pictures have been sent to my GP so I'll have to go and follow up with the GP on the best management practice. The radiologist noted that the inflammation was right where the Achilles and Heel connect, which is bad as wearing shoes constantly aggravates the injury and prolongs recovery time. As soon as I take my shoes off I feel instant relief.

omg, no ultrasound's close to useless! GPs are out of the depth i bet, they won't go for the higher power scans b/c they have strict quotas and they get audited for referring them! If i went by the US and xray scans and my GPs interpretation of them, my knee was fine and i just have to rest.  Get your gp to refer to you to a ortho. My ortho was able to do a free MRI at the hospital with a 3.0T machine. Medicare paid for most of the ortho consult fee (i think it's $200 most places), but i had about $80 out of pocket from memory, that's still cheap compared to getting the MRI privately, the hospital quoted like $700! And the difference between a 1.5T MRI (most small labs) and a 3.0T MRI (only big labs or hospitals) is day and night. Call first and confirm your choice of ortho will do a scan for free if he deems it necessary (he most prob will).

My recent knee scope was done under private (i saw the ortho tuesday and the operation was booked in for thursday!). Cost me $500 out of pocket (i think what wasn't covered by insurance was the general anesthetic) but i had had private insurance (thought it was a waste of money tbh until you need it). Without the insurance, i think the cost was around $2000? not sure. I wonder how long it would have taken publically. I'm on a waiting list to see a cardiologist for my heart since January, prob not going to see him for a while .. hopefully im still alive ha.

I never knew that GP's had quotas. Unfortunately I had the ultrasound done over 3 months ago now. A MRI is still an option; however, I can't afford surgery privately even if the MRI had adverse findings. My ultrasound did show findings though and I have provided my Physio with the ultrasound report. At this stage I'm just going to stick with the Physio and take conservative treatment. I felt pretty down and thought my days of playing rugby league were over, which is why I hadn't done anything for 6 months. Now I'm just following the Physio's instructions and doing all the rehab as prescribed to a T.

That's very interesting about your knee though. In your situation it was great that you followed through with a MRI otherwise it would be unresolved. It's amazing that even with private health insurance they still slug you for 'extras' and out of pocket expenses. With your cardiology I would be calling up the hospital and asking about it. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. It's good to see you back logging again. As soon as I'm back at the gym I'm going to start logging again too, although I dread to think about the strength I've lost.

I went to the Physio today. It was similar to last time with all the physical examinations. I said that whenever I try and jog I get pain in my heel. I haven't tried jogging but I got asked to jog and felt heel pain immediately. The Physio reassured me that was natural as my Achilles is an insertational injury. My left Achilles has about 1cm less flexibility than my right Achilles, which was measured in one of the exercises I had to perform today.

Prescription-
Got advised not to go for long walks or jog.
Do not do any Achilles stretching.
Increase the standing on my toes from 25 seconds to 45 seconds with 1 minute of rest for 5 sets. Repeat 3x throughout the day.
Next appointment in just over 2 weeks on 11th October.
