What about carrying bags etc for example for school? Some people always carry on the same side all the time, right or left... it can develop some imbalances.

Do you do the leg extensions using the full rom or just the top? I'm doing them just at the top (kinda like TKEs) for VMO development, slowly and while holding my fingers on the actual working VMO and pushing into the VMO with them just a bit to increase the awareness of that muscle being there and working. It increases the VMO activity just a bit more (if that's why you're doing them).

That's correct. Hand size is unimportant unless your hand is so big that I encompasses more than half of the ball. Then yeah, you'd have the ball in your fist.

I can "palm" a regular size ball using 2 fingers if it has the right texture/grip, whereas I have NO CHANCE WHATSOEVER to palm the same size ball, and EVEN SMALLER BALLS (=> same as bigger hands) when the ball doesn't have grip. The end.

I like this approach A LOT, thanks for posting!
I will stick with my SS scheme for a while to build up my limit strength and then i am doing this.

Yeah I know, I was thinking the same when I first read it (and I'm still considering it :P)

If you had longer hands and/or better pinch grip you would be able to palm more worn out balls than you do now, THAT's all there is to it!

NO.

No matter how big my hand size would be, it would still come down to skin quality and "compatibility" of friction with the ball texture.

For example, I can palm some balls and a friend can't palm the balls I can palm, but he can palm some balls I can't palm. The difference? The ball texture. His palm skin has friction with some types of balls, my palm skin has friction with some OTHER types of balls.

Why do I say that palm size doesn't matter?

Because I had a period of time when I couldn't palm my size 5 ball. That's like me having a +4 inches of palm on a regular sized ball or something. It doesn't matter. If it slips, it slips. The end. In fact, if I try to squeeze it more it slips even harder.

Yeah but what do 40 reps of that per set do for you? That's the question. Sure it's an expression of your strength levels etc, but as a training effect... why would you do it?

Yeah it depends. You could also do a russian plank... both Bret Contreras and Pavel demonstrated that one.

Uh yea I don't have a kettle bell bro.

fucking LOOOOOOOOOOOOLL!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TKktamzq4o

Grab a kettlebell and throw yourself in the water. See how long you can keep a plank there.

Raptor, is this the thread you took that analogy from, and thats seriously what you got from that thread?

lawllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

I don't need Kelly or anybody else to back me up. Look at the most athletic people in the NBA, look at the fastest sprinters and there ya have it.

Maybe they aren't genetically gifted, maybe they just work harder and train smarter, right? Right...

For ME, it isn't. I can "palm" some balls with great grip using my thumb and my index finger. It doesn't take any length or grip strength at all. What it takes is friction.

But the "official" old balls I can never palm. Never ever. Too worn-down, can't palm them no matter what. I can't dunk a old ball. And these are the kinds of balls people play with at the park where I used to play.

Luckily, I don't give a shit about retarded basketball anymore.

For me it has never been a matter of hand size, but 100% a matter of ball surface quality and friction vs my hand surface quality and friction. That's all there is to it, hand size is not that important when palming.

What about upperbody lifts? Muscle-wise, they wouldn't affect the MSEM sets, but CNS-wise they pretty much would. Obviously you should go more with a lower intensity upperbody stuff if you choose this path IMO.

Well you don't need to be a genius to pretty much get at the conclusion of a bigger ceiling in speed sports for black people.

And yes, I don't remember the last time I saw a black O-lifter, for example. And so on. But more on the speed side of things - 100m, 200m, 400m, whatever, blacks rule. Both men and women.

Like Kelly said - if a guy put a gun at your head and told you to choose a kid that you'd believe is the most athletic (fast or whatever, you have to define what "athletic" means first but whatever) out of 100 kids, chances are you're going to pick a black kid.

Oh, you mean in the hypertrophy day you just do BSSs and that's it? Not sure if they're intense (or whatever you want to call it) enough to generate hypertrophy.

They do give me a ton of glute soreness though.

But what about the MSEM days? Just those MSEMs and go home? Or you include additional assistance exercises as well?

Still, you can't deny that black people are "superior" athletically, or that have superior athletic ceiling. We've had this discussion countless of times, and there will be in the future the same thing again and again, but the reality is that it's true.

Otherwise you wouldn't have a all-black 100m sprint finals lineup and so on and so forth. We can try to be politically correct, but still.

Well yeah, that was the idea - no squatting in the deadlift day, but start the deadlift day with BSSs...

To me, squat + bss is kind of reduntant and me personally - I could never do BSSs really intense after squats so... they need to be a primary exercise for me in order to really go all out at it.
