I was going well on my 30 day challenge until last night where I lapsed and today. My brother is down from Brisbane and we drank a carton of beer last night. We bought another carton this afternoon and have just been having a BBQ and drinking. I'll restart my 30 days from tomorrow.

I didn't train yesterday but did my Achilles rehab exercises yesterday and today. I had 15 beers last night and felt like shit this morning but went to the gym.

OMG NASSER BEAT MILLER-UIBO AT 400M DAMN. 48.16

insane.

nasser is solid, i knew she could potentially give uibo a run for it.. but still expected uibo to get it done.

uibo got caught slipping. she had no idea nasser was about to be even with her coming into turn 3.. by that time it was too late. incredible.

https://www.flotrack.org/articles/6571367-4814-salwa-eid-naser-shocks-shaunae-miller-uibo-for-400m-title

48.14 for the Women's 400m is the 3rd fastest of all time and the fastest by a female in 34 years! Incredible from Naser.

Miller-Uibo ran a 400m PR of 48.37 making it the 6th fastest of all time.

Wow Michael Norman last place in his heat.

wtf?

damn...

hoping Kerley gets the championship, fan of that dude.

He'll be back. Michael Johnson had similar setbacks at the start of his career.

It's now day 4 on my 30 day no alcohol challenge. The first few days were easy but it's now becoming more challenging as every day feels like a great day to have a beer or 10. However, I've been keeping myself busy by reading books and watching tv to pass the time. 30 days seems like a long time but I'm just taking it day by day.

Training-
I still had some DOMS from squatting a few days ago. However, I had a rest day yesterday so I made myself squat today.

Squat-
barx12
60x6
85x3
105x3 for 3 sets
90x7

As somebody suffering from Achilles issues I particularly feel his plight! Hopefully his Achilles recovers and team USA expand their health insurance and stick to one system.

Worholm, Rai, Samba.

great 400m hurdles final.

WORHOLM runs his slowest time of the year, but still wins the title. dude is nuts. still think he's going to get the WR at some point.

Warholm is only 23 so if he stays injury free he could definitely get the World Record for 400m Hurdles.

First time benching for ages. Last year I suffered a shoulder injury that prevented me from benching as I just felt too much pressure on my shoulder. Unlike my Achilles tendon my shoulder has actually responded very well to the rest over the past year.

he's so dirty. they should definitely consider banning him the entire year. he's going to cripple someone.

i remember seeing this live (years back). surprised AB didn't get crippled on this one (by burfict):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8iFSP_S5h8

Yeah it's just unnecessary. I fully understand him wanting to play hard and make an impact, which is what football is all about. However, when you're making cheap shots and playing outside the rules it's taking it too far, particularly when these impacts can be career/life destroying. I don't think anyone would dispute sidelining him for a while.

Sunday 29th September
BW- 91.8kg
My bodyweight will probably increase because I drank a lot of beers on Saturday. The day after drinking I always weigh less on the scales.
Standing on toes for 45 seconds with 1 minute break between sets
5x3

I've decided not to drink alcohol for at least 30 days and I joined the gym today. Making small positive steps. The gym is Anytime Fitness and it's a 2 minute drive from my house so I have no excuses not to go. I've made it through day 1 without drinking alcohol.

Squat-
First time squatting in months and after a few sets my legs were toast, particularly my hamstrings. I plan to increase the volume and do more sets with higher reps once my legs get used to squatting again.
bwx12
60x6
80x6
95x3
105x3
95x4

Trap Bar Deadlift-
This is the first gym I've been to that actually has a trap bar deadlift, which is pretty cool. They also have bumper plates.

70x3
90x3
110x3
125x1 Easy

Chin Ups
bwx7
bwx7
bwx6

Assisted Pull-Ups (-5kg)
8, 7

Overall it was a pretty good workout and it's good to be back lifting weights again ;D

For everyone that's followed my journals and as the title suggests, I've always had an issue with alcoholism. I posted a status on facebook about how I pledged to go sober for 30 days and received the following comment from one of the best players in the league.

"You got this brother I believe in you. Your a mad footy player and heaps fast you can deal with this issue i got your support bro"
