recommendation: do heavy core work on lifting days, after main lifts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KZEGhqMOxA

paused squats are good. or just lighter squats done many times with a lot of intention about leading with your chest. grease the proper groove.

LAST NIGHT

- warm up

- DLRVJ x 12
not great, rushed warm up because i was trying to get these jumps in before pickup started and i had to go work out with my dad

- various and sundry shit x 60 mins
started teaching my dad to jump rope and do DB swings. i really like training my parents. it's just super interesting to see how they organize movement and how different they are.

One company records its invoices totals with numbers with 4 decimals.

Say you buy 3 items that each costs 1.0250 $. The total would be 3.0750 $ (with 4 decimal numbers).
However, this company calculates the item prices with only 2 decimals.

So they would calculate 1.02+1.02+1.02 and expect to find 3.0750 at the end. Our company has two choices (according to this retarded company) - either truncate (and end up in the 1.02x3 situation) or round (and end up in the 1.03x3 situation).

Both, as you can see, are "wrong". One gives a total of 3.06 (instead of 3.0750) and the other gives a total of 3.09 (instead of 3.0750).

This, for many products, leads to a significant different between the calculation and the actual total.

pretty sure that's the plot of "office space."

velcro shoes lined up on the bench outside the track means gray dawn was walking on the track.

word. then why not start doing your moderate rep sets at 230? you've been doing 2x5-6x225 for so long, it seems. bump it up. actually, your sets are all over the place. maybe pick a set x rep scheme and stick with it for a while?

i went to one of the best school districts in the country (98th percentile, at least by this ranking: https://k12.niche.com/rankings/public-school-districts/best-overall/methodology/). took algebra in 7th grade, geometry in 8th, algebra ii in 9th, pre-calc in 10th, AP calc in 11th, and then no math at all senior year (AP physics instead). that was unusual, though, i think i was two grade levels ahead. didn't always get great grades. i think i got crammed into accelerated math because i was so good at reading and writing from an early age.

then the only math class i took in college was stats and i failed it because i took it pass/fail and was an arrogant shit and never went to class or did any of the work.

interesting point about the hip displacement. i *feel* like i'm trying to take my hips back, so not sure how i could load the hips more without dropping them, i.e. bending knees. but maybe i should do that. something to try.

vest makes it harder to jump without overloading my knees. that's the only major difference i notice.

there's actually a ton of evidence for occlusion training. restricting blood flow while lifting very light weights (20-30% of 1RM) elicits greater strength and size gains than lifting the same weights without restriction. if you want to lift using really light weights, for whatever reason, it might be worthwhile.

or you could lift heavy, conventionally. probably just as effective.

nova's coach reaction = solid

he said he thought there was 0.7 left and he was gonna have to get a bunch of 18-22 year olds to calm down and play D. but yeah, pretty gangster reaction. someone should do a thug life clip of it. game-winning three-pointer: no expression.

i am pleased.
