ok so tmw morning I get to run with elites (10k).. some guys who have made the olympic trials for 2020 etc.

how long will I last?

i'm hoping for a mile but, who knows.

the best bet is probably 1km.. i imagine they'll go out around 4:50 min/mi soo.. I just need to make sure i'm up at the front of the start, so that my plan doesn't get wrecked the moment the horn goes off. It's a 10k so, I don't expect they will go out insanely fast.

hoping that with adrenaline in me, I run really strong and can hang for a mile at least.

400m?
800m?
1km?
1200m?
1 mile?
2km?

guess i'll find out tomorrow. ;d

now hopefully i can fall asleep.. last night was awful.

gn!

10 game season plus a playoff. 10 teams. 2 bye weeks iirc. Yeah we play college rules so 2 20 min halves. I showed up about 3 mins before tip off due to work so i choose to warmup vs start. Came in around the 15 min mark and played those 15 and all the second. A couple guys were asking if I needed a break in the second and it took a few that had played with me to say "no no no, he's just getting loose" lol! IDK why but I'm definitely stronger/faster/etc at the end of games than the beginning. Im leaning toward I'm just getting older and it takes a while for my tendons and ligaments to loosen up and get warm.

10 games + playoffs, nice.

takes me a while to warmup too.. but, it's always taken me a while to warmup. lol.

Did some chest and shoulders tonight. 190.2 lbs BW. DB ohp with the 65s 3x8. Hit some flat bench for 225 8-10 reps for a few sets. Accessory work and a lot of core. Finished with a few BW lunges and some penultimate step SL work. Took a short clip on my phone of that to compare L vs R legs and will post shortly! For now... Food. 😂

Tada. Trying to keep knee bend minimal but that's hard off just one step. Oh well.

nice. L looked very strong.

But with more interesting news.

Fights planned and agreed to

Mikey garcia vs errol spence

Keith thurman is fighting josesito lopez

danny garcia fighting granados.

and other fights

some good fights there.

i'm most excited about Garcia/Spence tho, that should be very interesting. Spence is a monster but, so is Garcia - a technical monster with serious heart & chin. Not going to be an easy fight for Spence. I kinda think Garcia can get a decision against him. I just don't see Spencer knocking Garcia out.. and Garcia knows how to win rounds, he's just skilled af. Both guys are great. Can't wait for this.

yo! any recommendations on a 45 deg hyper?

i'm thinking of buying a cheap one first. I bought one from "newyorkbarbells" way back, but i didn't like it - was surprisingly flimsy. They usually make good stuff.

small one from sears, but looks sturdy: $72
- https://www.sears.com/winado-wina3234-roman-chair-45-degree-hyperextension-ab

here's ones from rogue ($500) & elitefts ($730), obviously crazy priced but top notch equipment:
- https://www.elitefts.com/elitefts-professional-45-degree-back-raise.html

i can't believe rogue calls their an "oblique flexor machine" wtf? that's odd.

I have my floor ghr (PMGHR) but I can't use it, tears up my hamstring tendons. Probably responsible for some damage in there. Back extension always seemed to hit my hamstrings/glutes/erectors good without causing problems, so I want to get a 45 deg hyper soon.

any thoughts?

hah pc!!

Out of those id go with the Sears one and see how you like it.  If it's good then you saved a ton of money, if not put it on Craigslist.

I would say the rogue would be fine just read reviews on how comfortable it is.  I'd rank it as rogue is garage gym and elitefts is commercial gym quality.  I'd definitely go for the elitefts if you were about 200lbs heavier but if cost isn't an issue id go with elitefts.

pretty much my thoughts exactly hah.

ya, going to order it now. looks decent. we'll see.

rogue makes great stuff so, i'd imagine there's is top notch.

only thing i don't like about the sears one is, no *real* foot pad. it'll get the job started tho.

coo pc!

so, turns out I PR'd my 400m today... nuts.

previous 400m (no split) PR: 63.2, track, december 2017 (with a 61s = SPLIT TIME)
today: 62.97, concrete, hot as fu*k

11/15/2018

<= 4:59 mile vs <= 2:59 km:
- 11 (sub5) + 12 (sub3) = 23 of 50, 27 to go!

top3 finishes:
2018: 29/38 (stay healthy!)
2017: 6/12
2016: 4/10
2015: 0/2
2006: 0/1

diet:
- chicken quesadilla
- ate weird, gelato milkshake and almond bark for lunch (stale almonds made me do it)
- 2x beet juice etc

08:10 AM: workout: hard speed: {400m @ 62.97 / 4:12 min/mi} ::: (concrete, feeling kinda better) /// WHOA that was a PR!! previous PR was actually 63 (Dec 2017)
- https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/3162805682
- https://www.endomondo.com/users/26420622/workouts/1229742500

fu*k. that was so fun.

thought my previous was 61 but, that was a "estimated split" inside of a 63s 400m.

so this is a raw 400m PB.

(garmin connect rounded it, 62.97)

previous PR (december 23, 2017):
