Yo it'll be crazy to see someone who has high amounts of relative strength like you distance running. You defintiely don't have to try as hard per stride as a regular endurance runner as long as you keep up your strength

Nice raptor. I hit 165kg (365lbs) easy quite unexpectedly last a couple weeks ago so now I'm making it a goal to get to 500lbs (226kg).

About a 37-38 inch vert off of three steps. It was a 3'' improvement since I started DLifting consistently for just two weeks.

Light increases alertness, you're normal.

That article is about something else but in the abstract it does say this

WOw that is bangin. I found the event, tickets aren't on sale yet holy shit! Damn I want to go now.

I'm going to make a weird analogy for the song "Lost" to explain why I love it. Ok so I am sensing a profound feminine energy in the creation of that song. Like it starts at a moderate intensty, builds up builds up builds up then all of a sudden you climax (once u get to chorus). it's beautful b/c the masculine energy is more impatient, so it will get to the climax/chorus immeidately, instead of pacing itself and taking it's time. I personally in races will not be able to pace myself well, or not even races, say I'm runnign 320 meters, the last 30 meters could be close to max sprinting, b/c I did not pace myself and I like to sprint into it. Whereas in this song, it's just gradual, i can't explain anymore, so beautiful.

I would love squatting on a spring mat, since the potentiation effects would be nuts, but the upside down bosu ball I found fatigued my quadriceps extremely quickly, because they had to constantly apply force in transverse planes, wayy before I reached the bottom of the ROM and began to lift myself vertically in the frontal plane. That wouldn't be optimal for vertical jumping since it's all about the vert. Still even with bodyweight my legs shook considerably, I felt incredibly weighed down as well. But that don't mean it don't work really, Ithnk a springmat is better to keep the forces in the frontal plane

This is a very good thread.

Fro my own experience, heavy DLs are quite difficult to do even just 1nce a week. I pretty much stopped doing all heavy DLs a few months ago but I've been back, going at like 60%1rm because I think that could work in the long term, and my DL isn't that high (315 is probably a 3RM max for me). Negleting the DL though did not decrease my 1rm max I realized, it actually improved despite months of not DLing.

But this past week I sumo DLed and squatted a total of 5-6 times with no problem, and I recovered very well. I only went heavy on fridayy, doing to about 275 (a 5-6RM max), and I am definitely taking more time to recover from that than the moderate 185s I did most of last wk where I could go back at it within 2 days. I think heavy lifting in general should be moderated, especially since it's been sown that explosive 50-60% 1RM lifting results in the same strength gains. if this keeps the nervous system up all the time, it would be a plus. Days I don't workout for a while I notice I have more energy to do other things in life, but lifting heavy all the time definitely takes that away

TOdday or Gary: if you had any links to the connection between hands and nervous system, that would be fantastic.

That looks like fun, some of the things he's doing in this video. Anyone know what those top like things are that he is twisting on?

Look slike they enjoy jumping in barefeet. Well I do too, the only shoe that hits my achilles like it does barefoot are my track spikes and vibrams

10 seconds?? for 50 jumps on one foot? THat's not possible yo.

What about core issues? Jumping back and forth with two feet probably invovles the abs way more than on one foot to constantly lift the legs

I think I am fieldmarshal too. When we can both dunk we'll have great mixes. Still there is no excuse we should get in some jump days relatively soon, before 2012. GOod work
