i just wanna say that distance won't help much for sprints and vertical..if you are trying to gain strength and what not, then distance will prolly make that harder 2

you either gotta go for one or the other imo...i mean you can do both but being a beast at both is super hard work..props if you do it though

yea, there are rarely any meets once you find one you gotta think about going 2 it cuz there are so few in the off-season...

damn you did 5 ~70sec 400m? that's pretty hard bro...@ track near the end of the season coach made us do 4 and i did them @ 65seconds

but i feel glad that i can beat you at something hehe get 55seconds then we can talk....no j/k

just work on speed really..the endurance part is not as important unless you already run a sub 23 200m

edit: screw the 400m though..200m is endurance 100m is the actual event to do and 55m/60m is a great race

adarqui i think that if you went to open track meets, then you would be motivated a little bit more...and they would be great footage and have an accurate time...plus it is not like a major sport for you and won't take up as much time as boxing

dang...now tyson has best shot at getting the championship next year...hopefully tyson can remain uninjured and get the world record for U.S.

how did he get injured?

Nah I think Bolt will be back and 100% health for next year. He's been claiming that this would be an intentional down year, anyway. I don't believe that a healthy Bolt is touchable by anyone at this point, Gay included.

Yeah, no Gay is going to touch Bolt.

Wait, what?

lol

ya i hope it's nothing too, would be a real let down.. i hope tyson gay can hit some 9.6x's though and put some legit pressure on bolt, would be very fun to watch.

Yeah, I think he has it in him. He did hit a wind aided 9.96 at the US Olympic qualifiers for Beijing.

9.96 is'nt even close to the WR joe...are you using sarcasm? ok, when bolt got the World record in Berlin(i think) on that blue track, tyson was super close and got the american record..and this was tyson comming of an injury and getting better...so if tyson remains uninjured for a very long time, then he could def. get closer to that WR...

but both are going slow right now..well slow for them..they both were @ 9.9ish..so they are running slow for them
so obviously they are coming back from those injuries they had recently..they hopefully will be 110% by championship and tyson will get WR(well that's my wish anyway)

edit: and it's 9.68 by the way
http://sports.espn.go.com/oly/trackandfield/news/story?id=3466423

he ran a 9.87 this year in an american meet and qualified for championships next year i think

He probably just did not think he would have to push very hard to get ahead, so got a poor start, and once he saw Gay in front of him he tensed up, preventing him from attaining his famous top speed.

Complacency, methinks.

I do not think it could be due to poor training. Many other sprinters from his camp are hitting major PBs.

i did not say poor training..if you were to train super hard, and come off of an injury..then you would not be at 100%
i think he is training hard, to bring him up to a level even better than before. so he is gonna train for peak performance for next year

that is what i thought he is doing
