Decided to track my diet a bit closer, i will attempt to keep a daily kcals log.
Current plan : bulk 500kcals on lifting days , cut 500kcal all other days.

26 October 2012:

No workout.
Expenditure : ~2000kcals
Income : ~2300 kcals
So instead of cutting 500 i bulked 300 , FAIL!  :uhhhfacepalm:

Yeah , transparent would be perfect but especially in the case of rage comincs you are used to see the white panel so it does not look weird.
Overkill? I don't know , i am a big fan of ragecomics so too much is not enough for me...

ADARQ & LanceSTS - Q&A / Re: some questions
« on: October 24, 2012, 01:23:36 pm »
I know you asked Lance but allow me to interfere , there is a very strong blog post about singles from adarui in here, it is Verkoshansky's MSEM method:

http://www.adarq.org/performance-training-blog/maximum-strength-effort-method/

It covers anything you need to know about singles, including what you just asked.

hah ya, my fatigue was low, so on a whim i decided to just see what weight i could safely move without over-stressing.. 235 x 5 did feel unfortunately heavier than i imagined it would, but it wasnt too taxing.

had to test ;d

but ya, you're right.. that came a day or so after i posted that high rep reply in the Anti Ego Lifting Thread lmao.

Takes one to know one!

I suposedly replaced 3x5 squating with MSEM to keep them buffered and minimize time under tension.
First session i did 3x1@90% and 2x1@95% , and i said 95 could be pushing it too much.
Next session i did 3x1@90% and... 3x1@100+%, jsut because i felt good. So now quad bugs again.

:uhhhfacepalm:  :uhhhfacepalm:  :uhhhfacepalm:

AELSquad baby!!!

Requesting rage-comic emoticons.
Trollface and FUUUUUUU are must-have, all others welcomed. Animated would be interesting , but im perfectly fine with stills.

Yup , don't think those "what the fuck am i doing? It ain't happening!" voices will stop. It gets worse. Work becomes more demanding, life gets more complicated, social responsibilities/obligations keep poping up, injuries start packing, recovery changes ( to worse ) , food partitioning changes ( to worse ), every previous year is better, if i continue writing i will be tempted to quit again!
You just need to... and i hate that word with passion... compromise! This is what we like doing , this is what fills us with that content joyful feeling, so this is what will keep doing.
What is that , trying to get from tomahawk to windmill OR trying to get from mid-palm to base-palm rim touch, it doesnt really matter.
Don't look back , don't look too forward , just make the most out of what you can and remember to enjoy it, we voluntarely chose to do this for fun!!!
Good job 33''  :highfive:  :ibjumping:

yes, patience, yes... it is good.

True , but i broke it a bit today, went max on squats. Hopefuly ( and praqctically since im perfectly ok 16 hrs later ) there will be no consequences.

Bodyweight@session : ~194,5
Soreness : none
Injuries/aches : none?

3x5 based template - workout #40

SQUATS , MSEM , 45 seconds between reps / 4 minutes between sets:
3x1@165lbs
3x1@187lbs ( +11 lbs ) , ( +1 rep )
-165 is about 90% 1RM, 187 is about 100% 1RM.
Was supposed to redo 176 or try 181 but 165 was so solid that i got greedy. Good choice, 187 was tight. Last rep was semi-grinder but still good, got video.

BENCH PRESS:
5@143 lbs ( +5,5 lbs )
5@143 lbs ( +5,5 lbs )
5@143 lbs ( +5,5 lbs )
0@115,5lbs
-Cancelled the 15 reps finisher since this is supposed to be a deload phase. Will bring back when i reach 154lbs working load again.

SEATED CHEST SUPPORTED MACHINE ROWS:
5@154 lbs ( +11 lbs )
5@154 lbs ( +11 lbs )
5@154 lbs ( +11 lbs )
13@121 lbs ( +11 lbs ) , ( -2 reps )
-Very strong. Burned out at finisher though.

^True , knees lock out. That was a consequence of trying to start and finish with the bar in the hip crease. I have too long arms ( 5'11 3/4'' barefoot , 6'5'' wingspan ) so I find it hard to keep knees bent because then the bar starts too low. I tried pulling shoulders back or bending elbows but i can't maintain that through all the set holding 80kg.
I should experiment with HOW i bend, Lance said that it should help keep the bar in the hip crease instead of make it more difficult. I will watch the suggested pendlay's video.
