3:59 mile with a dog.

2 X Olympian Anthony Famiglietti runs a sub-4 minute mile with Bailey the dog on a wheel measured greenway course on 2/09/2019. The former record was 4:13.  This course measured just a bit longer than 5280 which is exactly a mile. It measured 5285 feet at the shortest possible route. Bailey took a longer route as she did not always use the tangents.  The wheel measurement of the course is in an additional video on this page. Several witnesses attended and filmed from several vantage points. Anthony is currently training to break sub-4 mile on the track and is in great shape. He has a personal best of 3:55 mile. The owners of Bailey the dog came into Anthony's gym in late January 2019 and said they had a fast dog and couldn't find anyone fast enough to keep up with her. They asked Anthony to test out how fast she really was. Bailey and Anthony likely would have run faster if she wasn't spooked by a drone mid run and had time to practice. This was Bailey and Anthony's first time meeting as well as their first run together. Anthony had also never run with a dog before. Yesterday did upper body

Chins 12 12 10
Ohp 26kg single arm, can't remember reps and 20 for 10 ish
Did some flys and face pulls and some Curls and Tris as usual I can't rmemeber numbers just going through the motions really

Tried to run again today wanted to do 30mins at 12kmh legs and everything felt fine but debilitating side stitches... What the fuck is causing these? It's ruining running for me at the moment.

Been a really rubbish week of training and work

how much water do you drink before? and is your stomach "satisfied" with food?

ie something like oatmeal + salt 45-60 min before with a bunch of water to wash it down.

before my light runs, i do orange juice, banana, and alot of water (~30min before the run).

before races lately I do the same ^^ but also oatmeal + pink salt + honey (~1 hour or more before the race).

one of the big keys for me was "superhydration". I just wasn't hydrated enough.. used to get side stitches *alot*

interestingly, the first side stitch i've had in months happened on monday (iirc), just lost so much water and boom, started cramping up near 1h40m.

also, if you do side stitch, no matter what you do prior the next few days etc, i feel like it can happen again regardless. seems like some "damage" can be done, which causes subsequent stitches. one thing i've done in the past is run/walk in those situations. stitch coming on, stop immediately and walk for a while. try some running again etc. but running through side stitches seemed to do some kind of actual damage. so i avoid it.

just some thoughts.

Duke could beat any NBA team thats having a bad day.... FACT.

If Duke played the Cavs tomorrow, Cavs would win by 50pts and Kevin Love would break Wilt's single game points record.

ya i was going to say something like that. duke would get destroyed even by any 2nd string nba team.

again, zion:

from an interview with the photographer who took that shot:

Quote
I tweet during timeouts, so I was kinda going through the stuff on the camera and looking, and I just zoomed in to see how sharp it was, because there was good action in the frame,” Kamenish said. “And I was like, ‘Oh god, look at that.’ And I showed it to the guy next to me, a seasoned basketball player back in his day, he’s like, ‘Oh god, look at that.’

nice session.

Date: 14/02/2019

back extensions - painful for the lower back holding 15kg but managed to do 10 reps and hold last rep for 30 seconds. the pain is from the back going to an extended position. Don't know if I should just remove this or replace it with reverse back extension.

remove everything that causes pain.

early journaling. light/long day.

fun run. mud/rain/mush.

legs a little achy in some spots (hamstring tendons) probably due to that lacrosse ball stuff i did -> rolling itb/quads was causing those tendons to tighten up occasionally, due to positioning. funny.

also right abdomen a little achy, cramped at the very end of my run yesterday.. i think when it cramps like that, it does a little damage. the good news is, i didn't feel it at all during my 2.5 hour run.

hmm what else.. left achilles "itchy", think i got bit by a mosquito around there.

left heel a little achy.

right quad a little achy from random spaz out mid-day yesterday.. didn't feel it at all during my 2.5 hour run.

left hip flexor/groin still a little tight. felt it a few times randomly during the run. mostly feel it when i move around after sitting for a while etc.

massive chafe from 2.5 hour run in half tights in the rain............ lol.

scrapes from half tights.

bunch of toenails jacked up. mostly feel ok tho. new nail died after 12k+5k on saturday.

right hamstring still a little achy after runs. disappears tho shortly after.

after 2.5 hour run.. legs/feet/knees wrecked for like 10 minutes. then i ate, now they feel good. funny how that works.

just felt like posting more "tweak related news" because this volume is catching up with me a little.. BUT, last run tmw before *two days rest*. that's the plan tho..

accumulating fatigue + supercompensation works good (usually) for dunking and running.. :ninja:

- eating good so far

light but brutal day (hot/humid/hills).

right quad tightened up mid-day out of nowhere. kinda achy but also feels fine. did some deep tissue manually, laid on some lacrosse balls.

02/12/2019

diet:
- ate good/clean

08:00 AM: light + mod uphill: 1h42m @ {steep hill path x 1 hour} ::: (grass, hills, overheat + hills + humidity = brutal) /// tough but good session - lost a ton of water

lost a ton of water, was soaked.

also my forearms/grip was wrecked, both hands, after the run. kinda nuts. don't recall that happening like that before. maybe due to dehydration.
