- sacral spine/low back achy

09:30 AM: very light: 1h02m ::: (dirt/rocks, hamstring felt ok but no idea if it can handle more speed, low back achy)

good sign that my hamstring held up. felt it barely a few times throughout the day afterwards. hopefully this just triggers some extra strength/healing for saturday. still have no idea how i'm going to run a hard half on saturday.. i mean if it doesnt bug me i should be able to. if it bugs me i'll have to trot it out.

MIAMI HEAT.

man o man. some tough games lately and they are pulling out the W's. barely holding on to that 8th spot. really hoping to see WADE in the playoffs.

MIA has a really solid team. they can shock anyone, so many weapons.

- 2 hours jump rope (+30 min?) :personal-record:
- most i probably did when boxing was 1.5 hr .. and recently did 1.5 hr again. so 2 hr is a big PR.
- alot of messups towards the end, was rough, but still kept getting back on it.

feel so good today.. no sign of injury. that's most likely not the case, but the illusion of feeling healthy, is great.

turn sound on if you want to hear how fast my speed rope spins.. it's crazy.

after my 2 hour jump rope session, other than right ankle being a little achy felt amazing all day. got sunburned tho.

03/17/2018
- lots of icing, hamstring/glute and back.

diet:
- ate light but good
- a whole half gallon of grape fruit juice after the jump rope session....... HEH

10:55 AM: speed rope: 2hr ::: 120 min x ~140 SPM = ~17,000 turns /// last 20 minutes was brutal
- longest i've ever jump roped! :personal-record: (+30min?)

zion is nuts to be playing right now IMHO. and i say that as a duke fan.

ya. he's just a competitor. nothing going to stop him from playing. not even the idea of risking serious knee injury without making his 20+ million yet. kid is a monster.

what's more interesting is how Coach K is playing him all of those minutes... kid just came off a serious MCL sprain and he's playing every minute in the ACC tournament...... college sports is a wreck.

IMHO, it's up to Duke & Coach K to be the smart people here, and potentially risk losing the ACC title in order to get Zion even healthier. That's where is breaks down to me. It's like boxers and their trainers. Trainers have to know when to throw in the towel, real boxers are going to fight to the death. Zion is worried about letting his teammates/fans down etc. Duke/Coach K needs to override that if there's any signs of him being less than 100%.

Zion looked great but sometimes he did look like his knee was aching him.

bummer. you seem to be taking the AERS route though, which is good. heal quick my dude.

thanks alot man. :highfive:

ya, definitely. can't mess with this. could get really bad if i do.

huge race this saturday.. seriously doubt i get healthy enough to do it. i've felt fine all day but, i imagine if i ran it'd resurface quick. dno tho. would be great if i'm good to go by sat - but not counting on it. will try and keep my fitness up without stressing it.

Not sure what happened but my knee has felt off yesterday and today. I dont know the language to describe it exactly but if i do the following:

1 stand up straight
2. raise my knee slightly
3. raise my foot up towards my butt
4. straighten my leg

and something gets stuck in the knee

damn dude. hope it's nothing.

been crazy busy with work and also slightly injured. not logging like i should.

left leg hamstring origin becomes a problem when i run. doesn't bug me at all during jump rope. also doesn't bug me with lunges believe it or not.. but have to cut them out now until i'm healed up.

missed a big race today (03/16). just slept in and rested all day.

i feel pretty good today tho. feel better today than yesterday, and that's after 1.5 hr of jump rope. so i think jump rope is safe while i'm recovering.

such a horrible missed call to end the Florida/Auburn game..

6s left - UF down 3. missed freethrow by UAB, UAB wants to foul. UF gets it passed half court. UAB *rakes* the UF guy as he's chucking up a three.. DELIBERATE FOUL. Trying to foul him on the floor but he got the shot up with someone raking his arms. No whistle at all.

that's some bad reffing.

Hello fellows

It has been a rough year so far, time spent between mental wards and in terrible headspace.

damn :/

Quote
Athletically I have gotten way out of shape, put on weight, although still moderately strong.

I went from 19-'s to ~210 because of constant stress eating. I have my final sectionals coming up, so it would be nice to get below 200 and bump up my conditioning (I ran a 8:00 mile). Eccentric strengthening would also be good  for on field success.

good to hear from you.

conditioning is good .. even if it's just for the mental aspect of it. personally, stuff that involves more work helps me clear my mind better. ie, i may go into some session thinking about too much garbage, and it just won't get out of my head, but by 1.5 hours it's usually all gone. same thing i've noticed with jump rope recently.. first 20 or so minutes i count each turn. as i get closer to 30 minutes, i just stop counting, and keep going. by an hour i'm constantly zoning out with much less conscious brain activity. that's something i love about "long duration conditioning". IMHO, best natural method to remove noise from the brain. can do similar stuff with less duration, with things like 400m repeats and such etc. so that stuff works well too. i don't' recall experiencing that with lifting, in fact it's probably the opposite. lifting made me way too aggressive and crazy. just my quick 2cents on a mental benefit of conditioning.
