One thing I always notice about Connor he always says how he visualized a situation and now it's become reality. His mentality in sport/life is really impressive.
one thing is for sure, Davis knew exactly what he did to Fonseca.
"here comes the body shot, boom" hah.
he recalled everything in that round that lead to that rabbit punch.. those body shots before the rabbit, were definitely serious. Davis could def have a point about the body shot being the end of Fonseca .. but that showboating, the rabbit punch, and the push down afterwards was very ugly/dirty.
Yea man definitely seemed like he was trying to impress too much that fight. I think it's something to do with being under the main event and trying to get noticed. Weird how his style/ mentality is completely different from Floyds while training in his gym.
Davis is wearing the most hilarious shorts i've ever seen.
Haha wtf man puffy as hell. Yea dude he's got tons of power but he's feel like Fonseca is staying there with him or naw? Wtf now he's not defending but I don't think he's done anything to earn that confidence so far
Damnn nice find, AI was my childhood hero, I was glued to the tv every time the sixers played. I don't even watch any current documentaries or anything featuring AI anymore bc it sort takes away the novelty of peak AI. Kind of silly.
Personally I think it's very optimistic to believe that Bolt never doped. Not saying he definitely did but I wouldn't blindly cheer on Bolt and boo Gatlin, that seems unfair. Both are great athletes though that's for sure.
Absolutely love watching Coleman. I could literally watch his starts over and over again. He just beasts out of the blocks and its amazing.
Bummer, would've been difficult to overturn the decision I'd imagine. Lesson I learned was how much the media you watch the fight (or any sport/ politics/ etc.) can affect your reality. I watched it on ESPN and was flipping shit like many Americans. Seifullaah73 watched it on a British network and clearly saw a Horn victory (closer to reality).
Horn winning that is not at all controversial IMHO. That was nowhere near a robbery like people are saying. That was a brutal, dirty fight. Honestly I had Horn winning 7-5 or a draw 6-6. If you were a judge LIVE at that fight, the aggression of Horn could have easily caused you to give him more rounds than Pacquiao.
Everyone all over the net, including boxing analysts, need to realize Pacquiao barely jabbed and NEVER went to the body. Pacquiao lost that fight himself. You don't box a bull by just throwing straights and hooks.
Pacquiao is an elite fighter & he didn't show it one bit. He showed heart, but not smarts. No jab, no body attack, absolutely horrible strategy by Pacquiao who probably thought there's no way he wouldn't be able to KO Horn.. and it came back to bite him bad.
why pacquiao why?? I was eager to watch him fight then I see this and I start to dislike pacquiao as the rounds progress. I just do not understand.
mass brainwash into thinking it was controversial decision sprouting from espn. who ever watch espn would think pacquiao won cos of the biased commentary (cough hbo and us broadcasters) I was boxnation so I think it was neutral but then again they may have been biased towards horn, which I didn't sense alot of.
3 judges, 2 from us and 1 from argentina. I would agree with 115-113 to horn.
Completely agree with the "announcers" swaying people. That was a very close fight. One of the announcers (I forget who it was) was keeping it real, he said it was very close.
Pacquiao had a chance to get Horn out of there in the 9th & subsequent rounds, but Horn somehow came right back & stayed in it.. I mean the ref came up to him in the corner and told him he was going to stop it. Horn comes right out and makes it a fight again.
I don't like Horn's style at all.. He's a spaz & he's dirty as fuck. But he has HEART that's for sure. This dude dug deep and keep pushing Pacquiao to his limits.
Hardly controversial IMHO. Calling this a robbery, is an injustice to *REAL* boxing robberies.
True man, you guys are bigger boxing fans than I so definitely expanding my horizons. I just thought that you shouldn't reward an overly aggressive and wild boxer like that when he didn't have the quality to go with it. If he could have done without all the clinching (and not even to defend himself but to throw dirty blows) I would've been much more okay with the decision. Of course Pacquiao isn't at the top of the game anymore but I thought he still was the better boxer and won the fight.

I don't know that seems absurd to me. I thought it was clearly Pacquiao with Horn winning only 4 rounds, 5 tops, and a dominating 9th round would have given Pacquiao a 10-8 round. Even though Horn was aggressive, he landed few clean shots(some good) and was tactically trying to gain an advantage by clinching Pacquiao and throwing shots as the referee was breaking them up. I thought he should've been cautioned for that but it went on the entire fight and it wasn't until the middle rounds that Pacuaio started doing the same and going for his right eye.
I watched the entire fight man and it was an embarrassing decision. Boxing is a great sport but the people at the top are ruining it with their promotional bs. I don't understand why they insist on making it less of a sport and more entertainment to have it play out a certain way.
Best part was Steven A. Smith just going off on the decision and speaking his mind on how much of a joke it was. A lot of good points made on why UFC is becoming more popular and boxing is on the decline.
Sup Adarq, I've been watching a bit here and there but been at work for the semis and most of the games. Hoping to catch the final Sunday.
I'm happy to see Chile doing well as this is really their generational team. It looks like they'll be able to carry the momentum all way to the World Cup and they'll have a nice and experienced squad. The potential is definitely there for them to go far in the tournament next year along with good odds to win it this year.
As for my team, Germany, their coach is such an intelligent man. He's playing younger players to see which ones can fill into world cup roster and really contribute to that squad next year. It's great to see young players and also some older players who never had the opportunity to play for the national team before try and make their case. Plus its Germany so they'll always be near favorites to win.
My guy that I'm looking at is Timo Werner. He's 21yo and had a killer club campaign. Germany has lacked a true great striker since Klose retired a few years back so I'm hoping he can step up and really blossom. One issue might be that he's under 6' tall so its can be more difficult at the international level to find the space to get behind defenders. A lot of teams like to play a bigger forward to hold off the bigger center backs on the opposing squads and hold on to the ball long enough to open up play (and win headers in the box of course). So I'm hoping he's good enough to get past that which he very well might be. Check out this goal he had last game vs Cameroon. Absolutely filthy to time that ball perfectly.
Kyrie played such great defense on that play......... So annoying that, such solid defense + legit play on the ball, turns into an altercation.
West is a bitch.
Looked like Kyrie had his arm locked dohh. Dunno I was gonna comment on West playing with great heart this game like he's 20yo again, pulling down some big boards.
Nice work man! and with your squat that strong, you should be able to actualize much higher numbers on your cleans once you learn how to generate power from the legs/ hips
Hey FP, I'm not myself too skilled or learned with cleans and snatches but I've put bits and pieces together over the years. My first recommendation would be to find a coach or someone who can actually coach you. My form was poor for years and I barely made any progress before one day I got lucky and a coach gave me a few cues to correct some glaring issues. So I would say it's definitely worth it and recommended it even if it's for one session.
But just looking at your cleans, you're shrugging way too early and using way too much upper body. Remember the purpose is to generate power through your hips and your arms basically just act as a lever and the shrug is only used once the weight is well under flight to get your arms around the bar. With your strength levels, 175 should absolutely fly off your hips which tells us you're using too much upper body.
If you can't get to a coach, I would cue you to at least pull your shoulder blades back and make sure the bar is really tight to your body. Also make sure your triceps are locked and arms straight before you pull the bar. You should feel a big difference if you only use your hips to generate the pull.
The catch is another issue and my catch itself is really poor so don't want to give you the wrong information there. The info above is what I was coached on. But basically your joints/knees especially are really gonna take a hit unless you learn to catch the bar with the hips back like in a half squat to properly absorb the force.
