Do you really HAVE to place the weight on your heels?  I heard this is proper way to do it, especially if you're trying to do a hip/glute dominant squat.  But the thing is, I experimented with weight on heels (raised my toes to help me do this) and weight on whole foot/toes both were equally quad dominant for me.  Does it matter?

Should be solidly centered on the mid-foot. Weight on heels is more of a coaching cue used when you have trouble coming onto your toes or you're trying to keep the shin as vertical as possible.

Interesting. You did plyos for the lower leg or strength (calf raises) work tychver?

Both but leaned towards "plyos". I was also suffering from a pretty serious rolled ankle which started me off doing it. 1-2 leg pogos and four squares, RFI line hops, lateral barrier jumps, low 12-18" one leg depth drops, band resisted inversion/eversion and single leg calf raises. Then did some sprinting, bounding and 18-24" depth jumps. Also have fairly flat feet with poor arch.

How much work have you been doing on specific jumping drills? Used mild-moderate shock training? EDIT: Missed that bit but more details would be useful.

I had a similar thing where at 5'8 with a 170kg ass to floor squat at 80kg I could only just nick the rim despite jumping every second day. Basically as high as I was getting when I could squat 110kg at 70kg, although my standing jump had improved heaps. It took more specific drills, mostly working on feet and ankles for me, and 18-24" depth jumps and my single leg RVJ went up 4" in a month from being only slightly higher than my standing 31-32" to 35-36".

I thought it was a juniors 10kg bar with green 20kg weights on.

She's been lifting since 7.

Nah the article states it's 30kg.

80kg powersnatch.

80kg front squat.

11 years old.

Isn't that a juniors 10kg bar with green 10kg weights on it? That would make it 30kg not 80kg? Still pretty beast.

it's not stealing, you unbelievable idiot. it's freely available at the link you provided and you gave a citation, rather than trying to pass it off as your own work. good job.

If the original author didn't want his work plastered over someone elses forum/website, it's stealing IMO.

then why do it?...next time i'm in london i'mma come over open your frige steal all your food and leave you a nice note about how it was stealing in my opinion

Copyright infringement is nothing like theft.

Fixed.

Also: Wells was very fast. Therefore, he was very strong in the way he needed to be strong. The end.

Haha yeah.

Wells was insanely fast. 10.11 legal 10.0 wind assisted.

How are these guys so fast with hardly any muscle mass to speak of.  Is it soley based on their reactive abiltiy and leg and tendon lengths? I can see how they would have good top speed after 50meters or so....but what about the first 50?

They have to be running  slower 40 times compared to NFL defensive backs who pack a good amount of muscle on them.  Am I right?

The fastest NFL guys might get close over short distances, but comparing NFL times and sprint times is a bit difficult because the timing is so different. Track times the clock starts and the athlete has to react (adds 0.1-0.2s) whereas for NFL combine times the clock is started by someone who pushes a button when he sees the athlete set off (removes 0.2-0.3 seconds).

Wells was 6'0 190lbs which isn't really that skinny. I think he was pretty strong over short distances too so he was probably pretty strong.
