right glute/hamstring kinda achy. funny how it shifts from left to right. eek.

wanted to do speed tomorrow but, will most likely do a very light run or rest.

i worked 124.5 hours from april 1 through apr 15.

holy fu*k.

:personal-record: :uhcomeon: :derp:  :ninja:

Are you still working in the it/coding/programming world?

yup. doing backend/frontend programming, infrastructure etc. lots of "intense" coding.

Quote
Do you enjoy working those kind of hours?

i'd rather work less, but it's hard to find good people around here. our frontend engineer recently resigned (he was awful) and i've been trying to fix his code & get it ready for the next person (or group of people). so that's where most of the extra hours come in, picking up someone elses work load.

but ya i do enjoy it.

i get paid for every hour too soo, it's not like i'm working for "free" when i put in more hours. so that helps. people can get understandably "bitter" if they are routinely asked to do more work and not get compensated for it, ie salaried positions that overwork people. so i have a decent agreement there with my boss.

i'd love to work < 30 hours a week tho.. hah. i used to put in 10-20, and was fine with it. now i'm putting in tons but it's because we have a ton of stuff going on that requires a ton of development/attention etc.

but ya i love coding. :ninja:

i'd love to get to the point where i'm working < 30 and we (myself & company) are making big $$ just because everything is so efficient & well architected.

:D

peace man!

getting used to the vapor fly 4% clown shoes. probably will be great > half marathon distance road races - that's why i got them.

pretty good for a fasted concrete run.

i have quite the arsenal of highly effective but low intensity running techniques now:
- fasted runs (higher RPE)
- overheat runs (run slow w/ higher HR, increased water loss, very difficult)
- long hilly runs (extra strength stimulus)
- very long slow flat runs (mental strength)

16/04/19

5pm

Cross Bench Pullover & Trap 3 Raise- 3 supersets. Nothing to write home about.

Did 15-20 jumps with a LR plant. Felt surprisingly comfortable and after the first couple I was doing them off a decent run up. Max height was around 30" which is pretty good considering that's my weakest two foot plant. Took some video for feedback and need to get lower and take a bigger penultimate which is actually great cause there's inches right there that I'm missing out on.

*Funny and really annoying now that I'm assessing my jumping technique I was thinking back to playing basketball when I was about 18-20. We had a high level volleyball player fill in with us. I remember him asking me if I had ever been taught how to jump cause he could see things that I could probably work on. I remember my own arrogant reaction at the time thinking what can this guy show me. He's only a volleyball player haha. Dammit. Makes me wonder.

i remember in ~2017 or so, this old timer distance running coach told me I need to actively plantar flex my ankles when i run, summary: "really focus on extending your ankle on each stride". I was like cool thanks, but ignored it, because I know stuff like that is stupid. The last thing I want to be doing while running is thinking to push off my toes every stride, especially in races of thousands of strides. Absolute garbage.

but it got me thinking...

so several days later, I actually tried it. I was just like, hmm what if it's not so bad, and it actually helps.

strained my soleus in like 5 seconds and had to take a week off.

there's so much noise out there. maybe he'd have given you some good advice. or maybe he'd plant form guru landmines in your brain - as we've seen, can last *forever* with people. just have to be careful.

really hoping ORL can knock TOR out in the first round.

would love to see the TOR organization collapse after they traded away their lifer, DeMar & fired Dwayne Casey.

apparently TOR has to get to the East Conf Finals or Finals, to keep Kawhi. They had lifers with DeMar & Casey - who also happened to be coach of the year.

ORL getting destroyed right now tho.

COME ON MAGIC.

then i'd love to see the Spurs go deep into the playoffs.. jaja.

Some bad news:
1) I somehow must have sprained my left ankle. Haven't run yet but i feel it when walking etc. Weird, i don't remember twisting it. It's very mild but its there.
2) Im down with the flu or some other virus, FML, again nothing too much but still can't train/run etc, dosing up drugs and multivitamins and food and rest lol.

daaamn! heal up/recover quick.

Now some good ones:
Got the electronic results from my last race, gun time was 23:04 , net time was 22:57. Sub 23 biatch!!! oh wait, it was 4,5km  :uhhhfacepalm: Average pace was 5:01 ,  :personal-record:
Ranking : 63/430 overall , 33/154 age group ( M 18+ , there were no other classes, duh ) , only 5 people above me were older.
Not bad!  :lololol: :ibrunning:

63/430 is solid. moving up the ladder! :ibrunning: :ibrunning: :ibrunning:
