Boxing / Re: broner vs malignaggi
« on: June 25, 2013, 05:35:48 pm »
I was expecting broner to ko paulie quite easily especially the clean shot he had in round 1 or 2 but paulie is good and a slick fighter.
but broner was the bigger stronger and effective fighter in the end.

it was soo funny how malignaggi tried to put on a show like when broner's back facing him he would swing his arms round to taunt him and they were talking to floyd during the fight that is next level show there.

it was an entertaining fight, but malignaggi not being powerful would wound up ending like that, even though he thought he was robbed, i think it was close but the 111-117 was way off in my opinion but funny how one guy gave to malignaggi.

but broner still being foul mouthed even after the fight no sportsmanship.

fans get to choose who he fights next, i see alot of people voting on lucas mathysse and next maidana.
hilarious.

overal a good and ENTERTAINING fight with their taunts and the 360 broner did and all that it was fun to watch but broner was the effective fighter.

Comment:
It was a good workout until i incorporated jump squats that made me fail my 3rd rep of the deep squat at 50kg, it seems i will be stuck at 50kg for a while. My leg was tired i just could not do the squats at 50 for just 1 rep after any more legs were dead. might have been the sprint session yesterday or not. Morale was low and trying to redeem myself doing some squats, i failed at 40kg straight after. so waited did 30kg to the fullest depth possible and then up. i think my torso is fine as when it starts to bend over my body just fails to lift it i guess that's something good about deep squats. Pull ups and dips harder than before. Injury does this, it makes them start back again.

:-\  half happy half sad, doing 2 reps of 50 happy and failing one rep sad.

absolutely, you might just be able to operate at the same level of intensity or volume as normal. just make sure you get plenty of protein and some complex carbohydrates during the break fast. and lots of fluids.

there's actually a good amount of research on athletes fasting for ramadan. lots of papers here: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=ramadan+exercise+training.

Thanks for the advice.

Hi

the month of fasting is approaching and would like to know can i still do my track training session's, which would be 6:30 to 8:00 pm and the time to break fast would be at 9:25. Same with gym work, which i do at 10:30am to 12:30pm. As in morning to evening i am not as busy as compared to after sunset it gets hectic.

pc

Have you ran a meet yet?  The only bad thing (training-wise) about Islamic fasting is the prohibition on water.   Ideally you can make a compromise with god and drink water but fast an extra hour without food or something.... If so you can train pretty close to peak performance and might even improve body composition.   If not then the one thing you really have to cut back on is training outdoors in the heat of the day.    This is downright dangerous without water and you just shouldn't try.    It seems your plan makes sense because you can do a lower intensity gym session in the morning and time your outdoor track workout so you can drink soon after.... Maybe move your track workout back a bit so you can drink right after.

my gym and outdoor session are on different days, gym is on fridays and sunday and track workout is on tuesday and thursday.
I haven't run a meet yet, they ran during the easter holiday when i was back home.
The track session is a club track session which they have fixed 6:30 to 8:00pm maybe i should continue to do some sprint workout's till 8:30 so walking home 30mins i will arrive at 9:00 then have a 1 hour window to consume some fluids, some monohydrate, complex carbo hydrates, milk and so on.
as for gym i can do it normally then after do what lbss suggested.

Boxing / Re: dawson vs stevenson
« on: June 12, 2013, 05:35:34 am »
meant to post about this but didnt get around to it.

man what a night of fights!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that lara/whatshisface fight was amazing.. so was maidana/lopez. very impressive performance by maidana because man he got caught hard, then came back to just put a destruction to lopez.. possibly early stoppage but lopez was definitely in severe trouble. much respect to lopez tho, hes' a warrior.

i never get tired of boxing.. such great fights this year.

oh yeah, erislandy lara vs angulo, that was a good fight, angulo looked slow and heavy but when he got inside and was throwing powerful shots at him, but until that time when i don't know but also he got some powerful shots to the body, just wont let go lol, i didn't see him gouge him; as they say; with his thumbs and man that eye bone swole up real bad.

exactly he did this with canelo, victor ortiz, when he realizes he has to start working hard as he is behind, he just goes to warrior mode and says 'fuck this boxing shit' lets brawl and goes out crazy with some wild power shots, and got maidana good in round 3 and a little in 4 where he was tiring out. lopez could have come out of it, like the fight with bradley and the russian guy bradley was practically out on the ropes was still standing and the ref didn't stop that.

next one broner vs malignaggi.

Also funny when he got up he just looked dazed when ref was asking if he was ok to continue but looked dazed, so the ref had to call it.

Boxing / dawson vs stevenson

 :uhcomeon:    :o     :motherofgod:     :wowthatwasnutswtf:

Some crazy night of boxing, adonis stevenson was able to hit dawson clean on the jaw and BAMM! knockout in first round.
i don't know dawson was not being careful, but stevenson has a heavy hand combine it with power KO.

New champion, can't believe it, first round ko.

maidana vs lopez was excellent as well both brawlers but maidana was able to over come and really throw some damaging blows.

I love the game not a big fan of the movie.

I always set it to hardest setting, thats when it becomes challenging.
I didn't find the story that hard to follow, they were jumping stories i.e. hitman 1, 2, then 3.

Im slowly making a return to the gym and training, my back is not a problem that much that it sticks, its very very mild i don't feel it.

400m Sprinting or Shorter / Re: gatlin over bolt
« on: June 07, 2013, 03:49:03 pm »
Hi

i saw this, i don't think it should be something you should worry about, because during the try outs for olympics in jamaica yohan blake beat him in 100m and 200m.

he hasn't raced in a while, which i can tell from him he is trying hard but still not his powerful self, but once he starts competing regularly and training there is nothing for him to be worried about.

if i was gatlin, i wouldn't consider it a proper defeat, it would have to be a stunning defeat where you beat him in the world championships or olympics.
