Its sad when someone dies so young regardless, death is so final, you have no way of knowing whether or not that person may have changed, or what they might end up being had they had more time.  People on drugs do things they wouldnt have otherwise done if thinking correctly.

Yea, but drug addiction is 100% the junkies fault. They know the risk before starting, they disregard that and think they are invincible and then it comes back to bite them in the ass. Nobody forced her to take drugs but herself. You can't get addicted to something if you never start.

Although it hasn't be confirmed if her death had anything to do with drugs, so we wait.

But since it's never to soon for jokes, what was Amy Winehouse's last hit?

Not a single fuck was given this day. She was a waste of life. Millions would have done anything for the health she had and she just threw it away.

Natural selection

I'm not sure it's that easy to judge. It shouldn't be at least. You don't know anything of her life and what was going on. Once the drugs grab you from an early age you're sometimes out of your own control in your actions.

She was in control when she started taking the drugs and she was fully aware of the dangers. And she said no no no to rehab.

You'd say no no no to rehab too if you'd be a drug addict.

Well I'd get over it myself. I wouldn't continue to do drugs. Especially if I was fully aware I had a problem.

Program Review / Re: Air alert (knee alert?)

LBSS, there is no "so what?"

Adarq opened up this thread and asked for +/- feedback. i gave my feedback. i can only guess that what u ment, since u didnt clarify, is that u want to hear more about my experience?! i dunno what else to tell u man. i guess i can give sum safety advice.

----Safety----
if air alert or any other excercises cause pain or soreness in the knee area use
1. ice on the knees
2. Bengay type muscle rub

always stretch prior, between sets, and post workout.

a good idea for during workouts is to use knee sleeves/braces  and/or  jumper knee straps/bands which are designed to improve patellar tracking and elevation by applying mild pressure on the tendon below the kneecap. The tubular insert provides uniform pressure

GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!

Or just don't do it when the volume gets ridiculous so you don't have to use things that won't help at all. If you have jumper's knee none of that shit is gonna help.

I think there are other people that jump very well off one leg that are heavy: Cannon Brown for example. James White put quite a bit of muscle, especially upperbody, on him and he is jumping the same if not more right now. So I don't know. Vince, back in the day when he weighed ~225 lbs at one point was still jumping great off one leg.

I think bodyfat % is even more important in one-leg jumpers for some reason, that reason probably being putting you out of the optimal position for jumping.

Raptor, who else on this site is a single leg jumper, besides u and me?

Also, what's your 1 legged PR and ur BF%?

I am, and I've jumped higher since adding mass.

Oh also Vitamin D is important for preventing cancer. 15 minutes in the sun every other day on a nice day or 3000-5000 IU in gelcap form or liquid form will do the trick. Most of you guys are nerds and never go out nor take vitamin d supplements so you are for sure deficient. Stuff would be like steroids for a lot of you.

Good article on it. I also don't think Biotest sells vitamin d.

Vitamin C shrinks tumors and Alkaline foods kill cancer

and brb mass is bad

Didn't I already have this discussion months ago? I didn't read any of the replies, but the situation is impossible. It's impossible to have that much more muscle mass but not be stronger.

Stronger with more muscle mass is always better, until you get too big and you can't really use the strength for jumping. Nobody on this site is anywhere near that level. High jumpers are different. There's advantages to being skinny for them.

Come at me adarq

Well I was defining it as when you put out the most force (if that makes sense, can't think of the right words). That'd start basically as soon as the concentric part of the lift starts. It takes time to finish the lift because it's heavy. Using an empty bar you can do it pretty quickly, but that doesn't mean you aren't displaying maximal strength.

And I'm just trolling

There is only little time available for the sprinter to develop force during the stance phase. The stance phase where the foot is on the ground is only 0.08 s - 0.09 s long in the phase of maximum velocity.

It's about .087 seconds.

I was looking more for the 1-3 seconds to express maximal strength.

Wasn't freaking out nor doubting it, just think it'd be nice to post a source when you post "facts". We all know the problems with stating "facts" with no source or experience.
Honestly? With stuff this basic it shouldn't be necessary to post up sources. Do I need to post studies when I state that resistance training is a good way to increase strength too?

Yea. I'm more concerned about the 1-3 seconds part than the .08.

Considering you are from a forum where everyone just posts their opinion as fact, but then change their mind 2 weeks later, you should know the value of a quality source.
