Boxing / Re: cotto vs rodriguez
« on: October 08, 2013, 07:26:50 pm »
def agree, he was aggressive, he didn't have to worry about being defensive, as his offensive always kept him away from harms away, so when he started boxing against trout, that was against him.

But now he is back, aggressive, trademark left hooks especially the right hook to left hook making the opponent dazed lol.

Cotto looked impressive and to his old self again but i don't think he would do any different against mayweather like they said, because mayweather has gotten better unless when he faced him he was his old aggressive style like he did against clottey it would have turned out more fierce then it was but i think mayweather still would have been able to come out the winner, as he was able to handle his shots well when they fought.

but i think we will truly be able to tell if it is his old self truly who faced mosley, clottey when he faces canelo and perform spectacularly.
i think that would be a good fight he should go for not martinez.

The klitschko fight....if you watched it, it was booooooring.

Klitschko was dominating throughout, i didn't like him, him always leaning, pushing after a punch just to get a ko, that just is dissapointing to think that he is a but he was powerful especially his jab, he jabbed povetkin on the head and he got ko'd lol he has a power jab and a power punch lol and he only did head shots no one body shot, champion, because it was povetkin, who is tough i guess, he didn't want to take any chance, so he resorted to dirty tactics, the leaning on his neck was just irritating, the pushing also. povetkin not being too small just couldn't get inside when ever he swang to his head he always blocked it.

at the last round....lmao...how he pushed povetkin with one hand and landed on the floor rofl haha.

I don't know if there is anyone who has any chance of being a worthy contender to wladimir klitschko, vitali is weaker so there is more chance of defeating him, then his older brother. povetkin was just not agile enough to penetrate klitschko's tower defence.

cotto fight great, klitschko fight really boring.

Boxing / julio cesar vs brian vera
« on: October 01, 2013, 06:28:26 pm »
It was not as exciting as i anticipated it to be, julio cesar was slow and not active just like his last fights and was suprised to see the decision given to him, even though the other guy gave a lot of low blows or headbutts maybe he had it coming even so the judging still favoured julio even though he clearly was not the most active one, disappointed i don't he should be given a chance against martinez if he can't beat vera, he was good and threw some nice combos.

Injury update:
Hip is still sore i did pistol squat and at way up it was paining. I don't know why it's taking long to recover, i don't like being idle not doing any workout so i will not go deep with the pistol squats, just above parallel.

I have been foam rolling with the tennis ball.

2570
once i get access to gym i can start stronglifts 5x5, get me strong enough as required not to build bulk as bodybuilder but develop strength so for carryover to sprint specific workout, maybe.

2571
are they not effective or am i just not strong enough to do them and what do you suggest?

2572
New plan, focus on single leg bodyweight strength so something like

weight workout
single leg glute ham raise          (hamstring)
single leg pistol squat jumps      (quads)
single leg hyperextension.         (hamstring, hip)

single leg band work (back and forth) and (side to side)

speed workout
50m x 5
100m x 5

bounding
uphill sprints.

just a plan.

Boxing / Re: floyd vs canelo - who do you have?
« on: September 17, 2013, 12:17:58 pm »
garcia / mattyssee 2 !

agreed upon.

serious! they agreed on it so soon.
i don't expect much difference expect matthysse might be trying to power punch instead of box his way through as he felt his power and didn't think much of it.

stephen espinoza said he would like the fight amir khan vs mayweather as mayweather as a 6 fight contract with showtime and mayweather said he would do it, don't want garcia vs mayweather wouldn't be good as its not about power to defeat mayweather its speed.

and garcia doesn't have that, he is has a solid foundation boxing and is tough.

it was a good fight, the mayweather fight was a bit boring maybe because of saul less than exciting fight.

Danny garcia vs matthysse.
wow, that was a good fight at the beginning, garcia definitely proved himself, by showing his strong chin and staying in the pocket especially after getting hit he stays, man what a warrior until matthysse bad eyes shutting garcia just became more confident and therefore harder for matthysse, but i think he only looked good against peterson, but since it was his first championship match, he just is not at the level as a championship contender, a lot of power punches garcia took them without much damage, man garcia has upped his game and shown another strength of his strong chin respect to him.

Mayweather vs canelo

what can i say about this, except mayweather as always using the skills and tactics to get the victory in a superb way.
mayweather is soo good at adapting, which he tries to identify certain weak points which he can expose and he found it in the early rounds, he found the jab step to the face a lot succesfull canelo just could not defend just like the round the glove to hit the head for cotto, he did step jab right to canelo's face, man he is good, also to the body, that was his key move to victory as well as his experience in dirty tactics without the referee and canelo being new to this scale he replied with dirty but not discrete the referee couldn't see.

i am dissapointed in how canelo performed, he had good speed and power in his punches but because he is a heavy fighter he didn't have the foot speed and agility that's why he was slow in trying to corner mayweather, mayweather was active in bouncing to avoid being cornered and sometimes i felt that mayweather let himself be cornered or placed against the ropes to give the fans excitement but it just weren't effective, especially the powerful body shots were not even a little bit to worry mayweather, he is tough, i think the weight didn't really would have affected him, i think even at weight of 154+ he still wouldn't have been able to catch mayweahter, when i see mayweather fight he always is specialised in one thing while making other aspects secondary, i.e. robert guerrero his main aim was defence, so superb as well as making the secondary attack which was also good, in this one he was all about movement, agile, quick and speed, not so much defence, which was good aswell.

so it was canelo's performance, which resulted in the fight being one sides, at the start i was excited but then all the way through he didn't produce much, i guess those rib injuring shoulder dislocating punishment he laid to his sparring partners, were not powerful enough against mayweathers body, he rarely got mayweather's head, which mayweather is excellent in keeping out of harms way, this was good as he had his uncle and father train him so i can tell training went well.

I had a feeling canelo would not perform that well, because he didn't perform extremely well against trout, only impressive fight was against josesito who comes forward unlike mayweather. i was laughing at canelo being cautios of every attempt of respect mayweahter tried to give him like touch gloves for low blow, he didn't want to fall for stuff like that which left them open like ortiz, mosley. lol

so this made me think, that the blue print dela hoya gave canelo was outdated, i don't know why they even looked at the cotto match, he was coming towards cotto and giving fans what they wanted and said he improved on that, he should have watched his most recent fights, but still he should have been ready for the foot speed in terms of movement, but i think they were dependant on one style of game plan that they didn't have a gameplan when the original gameplan didn't work out.

i hope his next fight will be against someone who is quick in terms of punches as well as quick in terms of movement, speed in footwork as well as power full punches and the only person i can think of is manny pacquiao or someone less powerfull but has the speed like amir khan.

but an exciting fight nevertheless especially garica and matthyse showing another side of garcia i didn't know existed and canelo vs mayweahter showing mayweather as always being able to find one move to utilize to help win the fight with the aid of secondary moves like combo's to keep the opponent from preventing his main move from being carried out to the end.

Taking a long rest at home. Feel sick, cold.

I went to see the doctor after an appointment with the hospital regarding the sinus.
I found out it is an allergy from the air, there is no cure to allergy only suppression so have to take tablets and spray

so this really effects the breathing when running long distance.

going to rest and start workout later on
maybe something like

no access to gym

Day 1
GHR
pistol squats jumps attemp

Day 2
50m sprint x 5
100m sprint x 5
light bounding x 5 (maybe something like R, L, LR, RL, from standing from running x 3 each)

if someone can recommend something for now to increase my fitness.
thanks

I feel money mayweather has gathered alot of tactics, which he uses to win as well as reflexes to get the job done, i have seen canelo perform, he took time to get used to austin trout, even though he made work of lopez.

I have seen mayweather use tactics such as holding after punching, pushing, elbow but he is very slick, so i think it will be a slow 12 round fight, unlessw canelo dictates the pace doesn't rush and uses his left hook effectively without letting his guard down he could do well.

but i just think mayweather will be too smart for him.

Date: 8/09/2013

BW: 61.5kg

Soreness: Quads and hamstring

Warmup:
   same

Workout:
Lunges on Platform 2 x 4-5 each leg, holding 30kg dumbell each hand going as low as possible.
Single leg hyperextension 60kg dumbell x 0 quads too painful and weight a bit too heavy to hold by chest and lift with one leg.
   Glute ham raises 3 x 0kg, 10kg, 20kg @ 5, 5, 3
Bench press 22kg dumbell each hand x 0 too heavy

Cool down:
   leg stretch

Comment:
after the lunges my quad was tooooooo painful that i foam rolled it to get a little pain off, attempted the single leg hyperextension, i feel that maybe i can do it, if i had no pain in my quad and i was energetic, feel good and prepared, i would have been able to do it, but could not do it through the pain so was only able to do 1/4-1/3 way up but hard to hold 60kg dumbell to chest and then hold it there and use leg to lift it through pain. then after i did glute ham raise it just got even more painful on my quads. after i couldn't do any exercise my leg was super super painful like the pain you get when you foam roll on a sore spot but without rolling just constant pain, so had to limp home. gaining weight nicely lol. been eating meal after 3 hours. people were requesting i get a video, but the quality is not that good, so i made a video but don't complain on the quality, its me doing glute ham raise.

Rating: 2/10 (quads ultra painful i won't be able to much lifting the whole week) also i had to walk back home 20 min of limping ouch.

2579
I did the glute ham raise with 30kg dumbell and with 2 feet not single feet.
how did you calculate it it to 1.5xbw.

i will try and get it filmed.

did you do the GHR on the GHR machine and is it normal for it to be painful on the quads because of the pads pressing against them? or is it bearable for you?
