enormous shot by Kawhi. trapped 3.

most likely just saved the series for TOR.

38s left, TOR up 6.

Hoka One One put on an awesome event to market their new carbon fiber plate accelerated foot rocker clown shoes, similar to the VaporFly 4% clown shoes. I'm personally not a fan of this new stuff, these shoes feel mechanical. I got the vapor fly 4%'s to test them, and I absolutely hate them. They don't feel like "real" shoes.

regardless.. Walmsley set a 50 mile world record. Incredible pace.. 5:48 IIRC.

4:50:07 for 50 miles.

that's incredible.

good first half between TOR/PHI.

looking better for PHI tho.. TOR started off hot then cooled down. Now PHI just took the lead.

if TOR loses this game, RIP.

Eliud (2:02:XX) vs Wilson (2:09:XX), London 2019.

This is why I love Kenyan runners. Their entire culture brings that warrior spirit to running.

Wilson is retiring this year. He knows he's not in Eliud shape. But, he goes out with Eliud for the first half at a crazy fast pace (1:01 insanity), and still ends up finishing the race with a solid time. He could have hung back with a different group, probably finished with a 2:06 with the shape he's in. Instead he goes out hard & takes his beating with honor.

damn :/

really sucks man.

I just play rugby league for fun but it's fkn mentally draining as well as the physical toll. I don't know how much longer I can keep doing this...

I can relate. It's not a good spot to be in.

Before any of you knew me, I was a hoop addict - this was way before I was on forums etc. I had been dedicated to basketball since probably age 8, through ~22 years old (around 2004-2005 or so). From probably ~14 years old onwards, I couldn't stop getting injured. Broken fingers & arms, bad muscle tears & strains, tendinitis, contusions, lacerations on my head (tho not too many sprains - bionic ankles *ninja*). Just got so annoying that I finally stopped playing basketball. It was really hard for me to "quit", but it had been brewing for years. Every time i'd get back to 100%, then get injured again, i'd think maybe I should be putting this energy into something else. The good news is, I found other stuff (safer and just as fun, or more fun).

edit: I think my timeline was:
basketball (14 years, injuries/quit) + boxing (2 years, injuries/quit), + dunking (4 years, quit), getting fat (3 years), running (4 years through current)
but I eventually realized, it's more like: running (14 + 2 + 4 + 4) :ninja:
my lesson learned: stay away from contact sports.

Anyway, i'm definitely not saying you should retire or anything - that's 100% up to you obviously. But, when it gets to the point where it's becoming a serious mental drain/stress, it might make sense to step away for a while & focus on something that's challenging but will also keep you healthy for a considerable amount of time.

You didn't hurt yourself actually playing rugby, but - you did rush your recovery to practice for the league. That's one of the big problems I find with team sports & such - once you get in that team mindset, you'll do things that you know you shouldn't because you don't want to let down your teammates etc. Take care of yourself first & foremost.

Heal up man!

So next week Monday and Tuesday I'll still be in days so Wednesday and on i should be good.

This week I am fasting from 830pm to 330/4pm.
No workouts cuz I feel tired as fuck but I hate eating at work

ya i don't eat (big) at work. i hate eating a big meal, then feeling useless/tired after. i usually just have a banana + milk or oj, or some almonds etc. keeps me sharp. hah.

occasionally i've done completely-no-eating but, i find a small snack feels better. if i start getting very hungry, hard for me to code/solve problems. i just get too angry eventually. lol.

Even though I didn't workout this wk I believe the 20 hour fasting helped me lose weight.

nice man.

epic missed dunk. also, very weird ending..

Curry tries for dunk with 16s left and down by 5. His worst play of the season. A serious WTF moment.

yup.

it's like he forgot he was in the NBA for a sec, and was re-living a playground hoop dream of dunking to close out a game.

lmao.
