exactly, he lost the ability to take punishment like he used to.

Yup, def brutal.

you see devon fight - I can't believe shawn porter would be that powerful and straight into action, like timothy bradley with the headbutts and coming in strong, i thought he would beat him easily as the comments i heard, sparring partner mentality, and so on. lol

paulie was quick and good, rumours of him taking on garcia interesting maybe.

Sure, Will do.

Hi

It's been Injury after Injury after Injury. My ankle is mobile but it is very prone to be pronated and cause an ankle twist especially when i accidentally step on a surface at a sideways angle causing a twisted ankle.

So am currently recovering from an twisted ankle injury and all the ankle injuries are on the same foot and hopefully afterwards, start gym and running and plyos. The Inury is really off putting, putting me on the sidelines, which i don't like the time passing by without making use of it with workout.
do 3-4 x 5-8 rep scheme and slowly work my way up even if it takes me three weeks to progress from a certain weight, but deadline to reach 2+ x  bw end of 2014 hopefully.

Did you see the pacquiao fight, he had his speed but not the same when facing cotto Morales the Ko made him more defensive doesn't take risks. Nice dodging swaying hand speed enough for may weather maybe as he should train for speed and power and can take risk as may weather doesn't throw bombs which Rios is capable of and funny smile when he got hit with pacquiao power

I don't think as well since his last fight, he seems to be slowing down and his age seems to be showing.
Sergio would beat him when he faced paul williams, but now it's hard to tell.

I expect an easy win for gennady, I would love to see him take on ruslan provodnikov, or ruslan provodnikov vs lucas matthyse.

Boxing / ruslan vs alvarado
« on: October 25, 2013, 10:38:58 am »
:o  Ruslan was a beast, the way he started the first round he was swinging and contacting most of the time, until later on the round alvarado knew not only did it look live he was hitting harder than rios but he was tough and could take shots well, at 4th round about he was cornering him and pounding. I love his ability to throw fast power punches to the body followed by to the head, man he is soo good at that. Then knocking him out later on by him going down that he just retired in his corner lol.

I knew alvarado would try toe to toe, but then moved on to boxing that his own trainer told to stop running, alvarado didn't notice it but he was moving a lot he felt ruslans power.

I don't think he would be able to defeat bradley still even with his power, it will be like the last match, bradley who has a strong heart, and is able to keep himself up.

Ruslan vs Matthysse would be good.

its funny how marquez complaining again for this fight also saying something like

the judges had for him again in the fight and scored unfairly, bradley used his head, ref no help, yada yada yada

bradley did use his head a few but still it did not affect him, man he complains alot, i'm starting to think re think he's excuses for his previous fight with pacquiao he thinks he won all three lmao, he won actually 2, third and fourth, the second one was close, he was robbed on the third it affected him he is paranoid against all judges that score against him lol.

I think alvarado might win if he uses both power and boxes smartly. Provodniko is strong, the amount of time he put bradley in a daze was just crazy.

can't wait for that, provdnikov will be forward coming tough try play smart but i have it also for alvarado, who is tough, aggresive and a boxer.

Boxing / bradley vs marquez
« on: October 14, 2013, 11:51:04 am »
It was a good night of boxing but i had a feeling marquez won't be up to it.
It's that type of thing where if A beats B and B beats C even though decision given to C doesn't always mean A would beat C.

It's all about style and that's what gives pacquiao an advantage over marquez his speed, footwork and power while marquez not good at speed and footwork chasing bradley which i think bradley did a lot of running around in the later part of the rounds.

Bradley being a boxer, strong withstanding ko blows i.e. provodnikov but his defence aint that good that's why he got caught alot by power shots buy marquez who had a higher connect percentage.

I had this feeling marquez wouldn't be that good as if you see his fights with others he didn't perform that well especially against the russian guy, in mexico, couldn't get a ko it's just because he was able to hone his skills against pacquiao who is forward coming aggressive so he waits but with bradley who is fast intelligent boxer and can move around marquez had to come forward which he is not good at.

they both performed at their usual best but marquez's style was not enough against bradley.

it was close but not that close, to have given any score to marquez.

Marquez started to adjust in the later round and bradley starting to move around alot more it was too difficult for marquez to catch him.

a good fight overall but knew marquez would not be able to pull it out.

Next planned workout hopefully.

Quote
Monday: Speed Work(Maybe 5x50m)+Plyos and Weights
Tuesday: Extensive Tempo(Like 8x200-70% w/ 2’ rest)+General Strength
Wednesday: Similar to Monday, but change up distances and exercises
Thursday: Similar to Tuesday
Friday: Warm Up+ Speed Endurance+ Weights
Saturday: Something low key

You could change that up as you like and be flexible with your set-up. For weight room I’d pick 3-4 multi-joint lifts per session and stay in the 20-25 rep range overall. You’d probably be best off starting with simpler plyos like SLJ and low hurdle hops. Don’t go crazy or anything with training and adjust it as needed.

General Strength training is exercises done with only the bodyweight as resistance(ei. Pushups, Lunges, Crunches, etc.)

For plyos I’d do hurdle hops(lower), slj=Standing long jump, box jumps, and maybe skips for height.
