Double amputee, Oscar Pistorius, make top qualifying standards for the Olympics. (Not the paralympics... he already has world records in those)

He probably wont be able to compete though, unless they changed the rules. I remember some years back and double amputee ran some fast 400m and could not compete in the olympics and world champs.

:personal-record: weight throw 16,57m at nationals. Finished 3rd and won the bronze. 11cm from silver.

congrats dude!! sick

11cm, so small...

Yeah that was so close. I really tried hard to get him, and my 6th throw would have been longer, but I fouled it into the net.

You write set x reps right?

Is it a new goal to be able to handstand? How long can you hold it?

EDIT: yeah, set x reps. so 10 x 3 is 10 sets of 3 reps.

handstand is a goal, but tertiary at most. just something to work on when i don't feel like doing normal upper body work, or maybe on off days. i can't hold one for more than a second or two at best without the wall, so far. haven't bothered to time a hold against the wall but i'm sure it would be laughable. i'll get there. i always liked gymnastic stuff. would love to be able to do a flag and a planche and all that but i figure it's probably best to learn how to crawl before i try to walk. on my hands.

EDIT: also, haha flander. that guy probably isn't even THAT obese for parts of this country, though. like he's probably not the fattest person he knows.

that's nothing: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-1257850/Super-sized-mother-determined-worlds-fattest-woman-years.html

To achieve her goal, Donna says she will need to eat up to 12,000 calories a day (the average woman should consume only 2,000.)

To fund the massive $750 weekly food shop, she runs a website where men pay her to watch her eat fast food.

U-S-A! U-S-A!

I can hold a handstand maybe 5 seconds but Ive been able to do a flag for long. So dont let that stop you.

USA is the land of dreams. Earning money by eating fast food on video. Thats amazing and idiotic at the same time.

i can definitely get more videos in by Sept 1 if this is really gonna happen.

I think its going to happen.

can we chose the end of september as a deadline, guys? you know, I'm struggling with an ankle sprain as of late, and I'm not sure I'll be at my best for sept the 1st...I could post some of my old video, but I actually wanted to record something completely fresh...
I just don't want to be the only one "complaining", so if you all agree with me thanks to everyone, but if for whatever reason you want to leave the deadline as it is now, that'll be fine to me.

Sept. 1st is just a date set by darq as a proposal. I just took it to have a date. See what happens. He might not get cracking on editing before youre good anyways.

ADARQ & LanceSTS - Q&A / Re: Deadlift and squat form
« on: July 22, 2011, 04:09:57 pm »
First saw the video now Flander, thank you for it.

Also had a coach tell me today that I to let my feet point further out on squats, and I'm still using my back too much on the descent in deadlift, so still got some work to do

Keep posting progress videos.

Been working my way up too that 100kg mark for a VERY VERY long time now and finally hit it!

Squat:
1 @ 100kg
:personal-record: :personal-record: :personal-record: YAY!!! Finally got that 100kg regular squat! I know its stuff all compared to most but it's such a milestone for me. Man, so excited I got it! Was a huuuuuge grind though, almost died. My mind was trying to psych me out when I unracked it, so I just stood there for ages with it on my back until I knew I wasn't going to pussy out lol, was shaking like shit on my way up and re-racking it, all good though  :D  That was 1.45x bodyweight, so close to 1.5x!!!

HUGE props man. Congrats.
