Basketball / Re: NBA 2016-2017 Season

Oh, interesting fact of the day: Oscar didnt win MVP the year he averaged a triple double. That was the year Wilt averaged 50ppg/25rpg. But he didnt win MVP either. Bill Russell did while averaging something like 19 and 23.

I gotta agree. While Hardens stat line is insane in its own right (Dudes a beast, lets be real). The most telling stat ive seen is this:

When Westbrook has a trip dub...the Thunders winning percentage is 80%. Without a Westbrook triple double... 33%. He is LITERALLY willing them to wins. The only other player with a similar stat is LeBron but Russ' numbers are overwhelming better. Not to mention idk how the cavs suck so bad without Bron seeing as they're still pretty loaded.

Monk will wither be a monster 2 guard or a bust. Dudes game DIRECTLY translates to the iso/pick and roll dominant NBA. I forsee him averaging 20+ by his 2nd/3rd year.

BW: 180lbs.

warmups+stretch+couple depth jumps

Deadlifts
135 x10, 225 x6, 315 x3, 405 x1(b/s), 445 x1(b/s), 475 x1f, 475 x1(b/s). Wasnt mentally right on the first 475. Stupid on my part.

9x3 @425lbs.
1x5 @425lbs. Meant to do a 10x3 but got a few extra at the end.

Same curcuits but lighter weight more volume. Some box jumps and core work as usual. Decent session for how late/tired i am. Bleh.

Ayyyy. Hit weights again this week and shot around and jumped some today! Yay!

Got cleared Monday AM to lift again and I quote, "you'll know when to stop". sigh. You'd think my PT would know me better. Either way...

BW 179lbs. Decent energy even if im battling some seriously dark demons lately. Trying to channel it into positive things but my diet is suffering hard.

warmups+stretch+lower intensity jumps

Squats: first time in the powerlift3s and sleeves (rehband 7mm neoprenes).

bar x12, 135 x10, 225 x6, 315 x3, 365 x1 (belted), 405 x1 (b). Didnt have 425 as 405 wasnt as smooth as last time.

6x5 @ 335lbs
1x9 @ 335lbs. Really wanted 10 reps. :(

Same basic circuits but i went a little lighter on assistance stuff. Also skipped box jumps in between squat sets. Knee did ok. I like the shoes/sleeves. Felt confident in them after a few reps. Was sore some Tuesday from the extra squat volume but not bad.

Back/biceps/core on Tuesday.

Shot some after work today and the jumper and handle were on point. Planned to just chill and shoot but I was money so I dicked around with some guys 1v1. Nothing real hard but it let me actual test the knee on some cuts and such at 75-80%. Tossed down a few light dunks with minimal effort as well. Need to get my speed back up into my plant with some dedicated dunk sessions and I should be back close to where I was. Did some light plyos tonight but was groggy (fell asleep post dinner on the couch lol). Max touch was only 10'10". Kinda mad for a min but I'll take it for now.

Ive almost been convinced to do a physique show at the end of summer... but that means more dedicated chest/shoulder work which means a garbage jumper and extra weight. Not something i wamt over the summer for pickup/leagues etc. Decisions.

Man... you are 5" taller than I am and weigh 15 (FIFTEEN) freaking pounds less! Granted...I carry a bit more weight than an average jumper (I think) but youre forgetting 1 really important thing here:

It takes muscle to move weight up. Jumping requires strength. Youre killing yours routinely!

My advice (take it or leave it). Fuck the scale. Fuck the mirror. Go LIFT. Get strong. Eat halfway clean and let your body balance where its comfortable. THEN work on RFD and shit.

There isnt really any magic too it but trying to be the type of athlete you're not is counterproductive. You've tried being strong and heavy and youve tried being light and relatively weak, both failed. Find the happy medium man and get this shit done.

Basketball / Re: top nba players with the highest running verticals?

Is counter intuitive though. Skill work at that level is in essence extreme conditioning/cardio/stamina. MOST cant maintain that level of skill, grind, etc AND a elite level vert. Those that can...well theyre genetic outliers already lol! Have them train for any high CNS/explosive work and they would excel.

Lol no no. It popped weird and had some pain when i was walking through the living room but i didnt think much about it.  Woke up the next morning and it was wrecked. Late Saturday afternoon it did it again (im guessing it shifted back?) and although it hurt like a bitch I instantly had better ROM in it. Had it checked out at the PT today.  She was surprised highly when testing and scans showed no meniscus damage. Sorry i was short about it and it reads weird lol was and am still kinda mad. All i can do is bike and stretch for a little bit.

264
Well... I sublux'd my right patella apparently. PT says a week or 2 off or super light the 2nd week and i should be ok. Said i was lucky AF i have no meniscus tear.

So i ordered some knee sleeves and some adidas powerlifter3s today. Now to enjoy my time on the stationary bike...

IDK Jonathan Clark is CLOSE to the double eastbay... stupid close.

Lol hey hey...Those are Nike Frees lol!

Side note... idk what the hell i did but i woke up this am and my right knee is FUCKING WRECKED. Hoping i slept weird or something. Just tried to warmup at the gym. No go. Feel EXACTLY like when I had the VMO/patella tendon issue. Ugh. Im so pissed right now. Going to take it easy and skip deadlifts tomorrow. Hopefully its something stupid and not bad. Fuck Fuck FUCK.

Sorry its shit resolution. Buddy videod and texting it to me kills the quality every damn time.  :uhhhfacepalm: And the "that fucking sucked" you hear is because I didnt feel like i hit depth very well. Looking at it...im still not as deep as normal but definitely below parallel. Meh.

Alright... Moday. Squat day. Got there at 8pm. Gym packed. Bros and hoes lmao! Got to see a few people I havent seen in a couple weeks. Small stuff like that is helpful lately.

BW: 178lbs.
Energy: Excited? Ready. Definitely.

Warmups+stretch+jumps

Squat:
bar x12, 135 x10, 225 x6, 315 x3, 365 x1, 405 x1...425 x1. :personal-record: :personal-record: :personal-record: Shit felt uninspired and even heavy at the 315s...got 405 clean tho and KNEW i should have gone for 425. Even said dammit too easy on the way up with 405...out loud lol! So with some motivation (everyone was watching lmao) and 2 mins rest. Went for 425. I'll edut with video upload later :)

335lbs 7x3. Box jump supersetted.

Circuits x2:
-Stepups (155lbs x8), calf raises (595lbs x25 on leg press), box jump and core.
-FS (135 x10/185 x5, 185x 8/225 x5), leg extensions (x12 SL then a DL finisher x15). Box jump and core.

First squat PR in forever. Badass. Not even sore today even with adding volume to the FS. Weird. Happy tho.

Interesting to see you say you felt bouncy after FS... I feel exactly the same. Just...explosive. Have you thought about going after a big FS?
