Track & Field / Re: hs track and field coaches suck
« on: December 09, 2010, 04:59:37 pm »
how much does a regular t&f hs coach get paid?
and is it only season-based or year round?

thx

well, i am not certain but it depends...
most coaches are teachers, and they might get a little extrad, depending on program
our coach gets nothing, does it for love of track, so obviously that is what we get in return
college coaches def get paid
HS public school coaches probably get paid

look at what this guy has to say..i thought it was funny

I remember the worst... it was that slow guy that jumped like 4 inches for the rebound jump.

it was some hockey guy, he lands and loads up for like 3 seconds swinging his arms back and forward, then jumps like 4".

lol

Yeah it's a way to suppress the stretch reflex, which is exactly what you should do for a depth jump since that's the key: remove any reactive rebound from the jump. Oh wait... :ninja:

Maybe he read that it's more important to get higher than jump quicker, and he gets the highest off a standing vertical jump so he dropped, stopped and did a standing VJ. Or he could be retarded, who knows?

Why do you always use the that smilie? just curious

I am going to buy some sort of chain/band for christmas. I thought about doing chains, I won't have to anchor them(migh be a problem for me) and hopefully cheaper(don't know)

any advice? chains or band? what size band? where should I buy?

probably addin some more fuel to the fire, but here is my

everytime i see box jumps done it's usually some trainer at the gym or one of my coaches

the look dangerous at the heights that ppl try to do it at

i really don't think it's better than just doing a standing jump

I see ppl all the time jumping them trying to show off

they hurt my knees for some reason, either landing wrong or something

251
I am a pussy, this is true

made my day!

that crap looks useless...it's just garbo, makes me think of the nfl combine

Why don't they do real push-ups and do that on the squat? to me that looks=to rounding on squat

adarq, do you have a track near you? (florida is like top in US for high school and college track, gotta have one near you)

if all gyms are closed you could go there, i jump max height into the long jump sand pit, it's fun, and easier on joints...plus it mixes up the workout a little , i see that you like to change location to mix it up every now and then

plus, i need to see you on a sprint, i want to see your 100m..........

does anybody else think he seems a little "different"? to me he seems more quiet and a little bit more of a thinker/contemplater

i want to watch this frank yang-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGQfTgqQBok

not some quiet guy lift with no emotion then flex...i want those seizure hops and the 500lbs squat(with shitty form)

idk, maybe i just never watched him enough to know that he had quiet times and crazy times back to back or something
