With little kids, it helps that they weigh like 40 pounds. I think it was Lyle who pointed out that most 7-year-old girl gymnasts can embarrass the shit out of most well-trained adult men in bodyweight strength stuff.

well ya for sure that helps but when i was that young, if could barely do pushups HEH! didn't even know what a pullup was... so yea these kids definitely have an edge with training like this at a young age, i really do love this kind of training for young kids, properly implemented of course, without a TON of intense landings.. moderate gymnastics/bodyweight training at a young age has very impressive results down the road, wish i had done that stuff when i was young.

i found a vert of some really young gymnastics girl it looked near 20, she must have been about 8 years old, i think i linked it on here.. was very impressive.. all of the boys i tested during camps at memorial sportscenter, you'd be extremely lucky to get a 12 inch vert at age 8 ehehe.

peace

i had a 14 svj... at 15yrs old!!

ya exactly, you would have been on the lower end of performance on kids i test at 15.. for 15, kids were getting 18-26.. had a few 26+ (26,27,29.5) etc, those kids were extremely explosive though..

my SVJ was probably around that low at 15 though too, it was pretty horrible HEH.

based on watching/ playing in aau games,i find that the genetic freaks are not significantly higher jumpers than the white boys at 12-14 yrs old. however, there is a huge difference between running form and speed between freaks and non freaks. in hs, 15-18, the diff in jumping between genetic freaks and normals becomes VERY obvious.  wat have u tested/ noticed?

RON ARTEST REPRESENT!!!!   my aau coach coached him in hs when he was on his aau team

cool, he was prolly such a mean kid in AAU.

my coach said he had mental problems even back then. after they won a tourney, he took the trophy and smashed it against the wall. wtf.   our coach is embarassed that he coached ron artest. he doesnt tell anybody. i think he told me accidently.   hes proud of coaching smush parker though.

what happened to smush? smush was nice..

i dno i think that's kind of gay to be ashamed of coaching artest.. what's done is done, not his fault that he has mental issues.. plus he was balling on houston/indiana hardcore, and just may do so with the lakers eventually.. regardless, people deserve second chances and even third chances, i don't even fault him for what he did to that fan to be honest, those fans think they can throws cups of soda on ATHLETES or call them racist slurs, nah, you get your ass beat homie, that's why they are spectators and not athletes.. most of them were never dedicated athletes to begin with.

shit i was so disgusted when duncan got hurt in a playoff game years ago and the entire stadium was cheering.. i wouldn't wish injury on any athlete, regardless of whether they are a legitimate threat standing between me and my goal, gotta earn it.

stupid fans, so many are just a pile of shit.. these ufc fans are probably the worst though, booing fights in the first round, it's pathetic.. they boo great fights just because it isn't a slug fest, god forbid it's a technical fight.

peace

word stupid fans piss me off.  and artest was one of those guys who would never listen to the coach but would still get the job done most of the time. like if there was a guy wide open on the right and barely open on the left on a fastbreak, he'd pass it to the guy on the left (who would still finish the layup, just with more difficulty) even if our coach is screaming pass it to the right. thats how he was

But I mean their approach numbers were like 3-4 inches off from the standing numbers, for a lot of them. That's what I thought was interesting: they're supposed to all be super reactive and whatnot and a bunch of them just aren't, or weren't during that test.

ya well if you check the difference between max RVJ and SVJ, you'll see huge differences..

in someone who isn't as reactive, you'll see say: 35 SVJ, 38 1-step RVJ, 39 FULL RVJ

these guys are basically: 30 SVJ, 34 1-step RVJ, 39 FULL RVJ

i don't expect a 1-step to have a huge difference against SVJ, even for reactive people.. it will be more of course, but not necessarily huge, because it's the run up that is of importance in being reactive, ie, the more speed generated during the runup results in big differences between SVJ/RVJ, which would classify someone as reactive.. less reactive people can't handle these big run ups, in fact you'll see many of them have very weak runups consisting of speed that they could get in a 1-2 step jump, they basically just coast at a slower speed because larger speeds don't help them much at all.

peace !

And yeah, I'm an insider, haha.

u r teh insider.

adarqui, most of these guys are 27 svj and 32 rvj. not 30 and 39
