400m Sprinting or Shorter / Re: Sprint Videos
« on: July 21, 2014, 06:16:14 am »
This reminds me of the london 2012 olympics 100m final, where asafa powell strained his groin or hamstring i think during the race half way through and slowed to a limping halt but still finished the race in 11.** seconds. how was he able to jog the rest and still get it under 12 seconds. he would beat a lot of us in that race after injuring himself lol

It was a hot day, I was at home, was free, so took that time to do my workout, it was very hot, but since it was late in the day it was starting to cool down as sun was going down. I did the warm ups ok. I misplaced a mark, which was less than the original as I mistook the end of the pitch with another mark on the floor, but after running it felt short and saw the actual mark was  a bit ahead. so marked it properly few seconds rest and then did the run again, of course got tired but it felt good and fast.

It was a hot blazing sunny day, which later on cooled down. The warm ups was ok, the pain has subdued down, so only feel it a little, little pain in the hip flexors, the first run felt good and little pain so I could do second run, which felt good also. Already nearly 2/3rds of the way through ramadan, which is helping my physical condition and fitness for my running.

The day was nice and cool and the warm ups went ok, had to be careful as I could feel slight/ little pain in the sore pain area, wasn't that bad, after the first run, that just aggravated the pain back to its usual pain status again. I don't want to keep on missing days after every run. There has to be another way to treat it, but pain has also reached my hip flexor. So I decided to stick with one workout and no bw workout as the pistols would just be painful. But the run felt good and controlled and slightly fast.

Boxing / canelo vs lara - a boxing lesson
« on: July 13, 2014, 02:20:07 pm »
It was an interesting fight, lara who fought angulo knocked by this power puncher and then canelo who found it hard against trout and they face each other, which is each others weakness.

So the fight started well for lara he was making shots to the head of lara, effectively and lara tries to catch him but only gets 1 or 2 combinations on him, so lara is like this for up to 5 rounds. canelo starts increasing chance of landing body shot combinations and lara starts to slow down and moves less and gets caught by canelo but still able to get back. but lara is a slick fighter hit and running, he has a good combination, but not very good in landing large combinations, as it was a few and move. until the last few lara starts moving again and got cut on his eyes, then last round canelo let it go and just started going all out towards lara but lara avoiding and moving well. the scoring was close and for me it was very close to call it, that if I had to chose it would have been canelo because of his combination and last rounds than lara's few combinations and multiple pot shots or maybe a draw. but would not be interested in seeing the rematch too much moving around by lara to get points by hit and run.

canelo vs cotto??? interesting match up would love to see that fight. winner gets mayweather on september 2015.

I wrote it without googling it, Lol I meant adductor. Just  extinguish raptor out, before it escalates. :P

I hope it does recover through rest.

Will not do today's workout due to pain in adducter/groin area. I can feel it most when climbing up a hill as well as it pains when i run.

WEIGHT: ???
SORENESS: none
ACHES/INJURIES: left shoulder, right knee a bit tight but nothing serious
MENTAL STATE: okay

- warm up
included skips for height and bounds. from now on only going to include bounds as a separate line when i do higher-effort stuff. i'll continue with technique stuff during warm ups.

- sprint 30m x 5; 50m x 3
walk back recovery. 4.5-4.6 for the 30s; 50s untimed from four-point stance.

- sprint 110m x 2; 150m; 200m
stupid woman got in my way on the second 110 so had to pull up. i yelled "track" several times but instead of moving off the track toward where all the people were, she juked back and forth and ended up going across the open part of the track. as i went past she said, "sorry i didn't know where to go." TOWARD WHERE THE TRACK IS FULL OF PEOPLE AND NOT OPEN TO RUN, GENIUS. times were 14.6; 21.x; 29.1. shut it down a little on the curve because the track was very wet/slippery and i didn't fancy eating shit.

as with monday, the plus side is there's nowhere to go but up.

skipped core because i needed to get to the grocery store before it closed.

later:

- stretch

Lol is it an international rule to shout track as they do that here. Lol at the woman, she was pressured to make a decision and made the wrong one.

Soreness: point where adducter meets groin bone/ligament

Warm up
  heel walk
  sprint drills
  lunge walks
  leg swings (sideways, front ways)
  side skips
  arm mobility stretch
  hip mobility stretch
  tuck jumps
  calf jumps
  ankle mobility drill

Workout
  2 x 116m @100%

  3 hrs after
   1 x 5 pistol squats
   1 x 10 push up claps
   1 x 20-25 calf raise jumps

Cool down
   heel walk
   stretch

Comment
The adducter/groin ligament/bone is still sore especially when walking so it was painful when doing sideways leg swings, the runs were fast as there were wind assist but the runs caused a pain in the adducter/groin area. The same with the pistol squats causing the sore area to flare up when going down and half way up so kept the workout short. So I am thinking what I should do, how i should treat that area, groin stretch doesn't do it, I can feel a stretch in that area when sitting on the floor the problem leg bent in front of me and I lean forward bringing my stomach to my toes and pushing my knees out. Maybe a days rest can help it recover.
