best tuck jump ive ever seen prior to some competition was this vid of casey combest.. he tuck jumped before his h.s. record 60m dash, and it musta been like 40" + a tuck, it was insane.. ESPN screwed up the article so the vids don't work anymore.. i need to email them, that video is sick.

Wow this article,
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1015897/index.htm

Says he NEVER weight trained in high sschool, yet he ran a 6.67 60m, that's ridiculous

ya dude he was a FREAK.. the vid i saw of him on that espnmag link, was just incredible.. insanely explosive can't even put into words how fast his 60m run was.

that article had the videos, but the links are broken.

such a shame he had to become a dumb shit and start selling drugs, but whatever.. it's just crazy how small/skinny he is, and then you see all that power.

OH yeah, the VMO, yeah yeah. Hm that's interesting for you, I really don't know everyone's different. But it's still very interesting if we can figure out how to train each leg individually to train the ways they work during an RVJ. WHich is what I'm trying to do atm, kinda stopped squats in general. Used to love front squats and my SVJ was going up but I'd rather train speed involved in the RVJ. I wonder what these ppls SVJs are. I know Troy McCray has a lot of strength, but these TDub and GC take high speed run ups

well, i'm not into that ideology, training each leg differently, that's getting way too specific IMO.. i'd rather just become generally stronger, then let the specific skill of RVJ/etc cause those changes.

rumor has it, T-dub's SVJ is low 30's or even lower.. him & GC are definitely ALL reactive.

troy definitely has the best SVJ of all these top dunkers, i mean his SVJ-BTL is insane.. they have some nice footage of troy doing drop-step vert's at a dunk contest, on a vertec.. i think he hit like 11'2-11'4 or something.. i forget.

I think though that the second leg uses more quad because there seems to be more knee flexion. Not just quad, but more achilles as well; I know this is true for me the way I jump because I feel the soreness the following day. And it makes the most sense if you think about doing a 360, dunk, or 720, whatever. The quads of the second leg plays the role of diverting the body in the desired direction, i'm sure someone has done an in depth analysis or something, wish I had it in my hands, haha

i havn't seen any, but it'd be hard to decipher, because who know how the plant is actually happening.. a side plant differs greatly from a "squat" plant.

but if you find anything let me know, i havn't foun much.

Article & Video Discussion / Re: single leg bounding
« on: April 13, 2010, 04:57:09 pm »
How do you know when to progress from alternating bounds to single leg repeats?

well, get them on vid? you really want to see yourself first, but i mean, the form should be there somewhat before you progress.. it's not like you have to spend forever on alternate though, you can always play with single leg bound "progressions" and progress slow with those also, it's a very different movement.

first progression for single leg bound is just a light cycling of the leg as you go forward.

wk 2   , 3 main squatting days the 5x1 at 85, 90, and 95% max completed, feeling the fatigue a good amount today, but the weight was still a little easier than last week

jumping pretty low today

my bud lu who is doing it with me, actually felt more energetic today, last week the first week of it i was feeling more energetic, this week i'm feeling fatigued he's feeling more energetic

what's his background again? you're coming off lay offs, what's he coming off of? his work capacity is probably better.
