"If you guys are really wondering if you are 'burning out mentally' take a day off and go to a hospital. Go to the cancer wing and look at a 4 year old, who won't ever see their teenage years, probably won't ever see their next birthday. Go and see someone who is mentally or physically retarded. Or see when a soldier who just came back from the war who doesn't have a leg anymore. Stare that guy down, look him right in the eyes, and tell him, as you stand there on 2 capable legs, that you are 'burned out'. That you don't want to use them. See if that doesn't kill him right there. Because he'd do anything to have that opportunity".

Nice. You can almost touch the top of the black square on backboards ay.

How much has your vert improved from when you were squatting 200 to 265? Say you gained 3 inches you could probably gain another 3 inches on your vert just by improving your squat up to 315 while ideally staying around the same bodyweight you are now and recomping your body (you got too much fat). 265 squat is weak so plyos probably aren't gonna do much for you since you don't have much power to work with. That's my 2 cents.

Powerlifting / Strongman / Re: Tom Martin

He's a deadly lifter. He doesn't sprint anymore but I think maybe his powerlifting would transfer over to the 60m a little bit coz he's still only around 5'10 180, which isn't even that heavy for a sprinter.

Off of 1 foot. I'm not able to dunk off 2 feet yet but my 2 foot jump is improving rapidly especially in comparison to my 1 leg jump.

RVJ- 34 inches :personal-record:
Dunk off the dribble.

My point was that you never know until you try.
I disagree with all extreme opinions, such as yours that says you are too heavy to jump and you are destroying your tendons being 87kg.
To make it more general, i don't like to read that "i heard going to 2,5*BW wil make you slow", go there and see if it made you slow.
Oh , by the way all those regarding DL jumpers!

Also , kellyb talking about that issue:

Quote
As for heavy weights making you slow, this is only true of people who carry strength training to the extreme. Even then, it's not the strength or heavy weight that creates slowness, it is the excessive muscular bodyweight that can develop. To verify this all you have to do is look at olympic weightlifters. Their entire sport is based on lifting heavy weights, yet they have the best vertical jumps of all athletes and are as fast as sprinters out to 30 meters.

"^ no offense to RutgersDunker or anybody who is sub 5'10.. but IMO, it will take a LOT more strength to get the same jumps compared to somebody with longer leverages.. (5'10++). if  RutgersDunker grows to 5'10+... he should be mid-forearming the rim with 2 hands from an SVJ with that leg explosiveness. i can SVJ the same rim RVJ grabs in his vids with a max squat ratio that is considerable lower than his." (Kingfish)

I don't really like giving advice or even posting much on jumping since I suck at it. But from what I've read from guys like Kelly B it seems like if you take guy A and guy B in your example you'd always expect guy B to be able to jump higher if they could both squat exactly 2x their bodyweight. This is because guy B has to produce a lot more force to squat 2x bodyweight than guy A.

Is it coz you've been sick? Add more fat to your diet and it should solve the problem.

Damn you'll be jumping 40 inches soon! Nice progress.
