levrone is very athletic for a BB'r.
It’s actually happening! Floyd Mayweather has agreed to fight Manny Pacquiao, a new report claims. Apparently, the two just came to an agreement earlier today, Jan. 30. And Manny tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that he plans to ‘fight hard.’ Find out when and where this epic battle will go down!http://hollywoodlife.com/2015/01/30/manny-pacquiao-floyd-mayweather-jr-fight-deal-done-contracts-signed-may-2-las-vegas/
dno.. devon alexander isn't much of a threat. golovkin definitely is.What i meant was gennady was a threat but devon was another option but there are also rumours of mayweather vs cotto rematch.
I think the only real competition out there for Mayweather Jr. is Ward. That'd be a huge risk for pbf. Pacquiao is obviously somewhat risky but I think size/style/matchup-wise pbf wouldn't be that threatened. Someone should slap him in the face for not making that fight already.
I think anyone who chases mayweather around the ring is going to lose. Only way to beat him is to out-chess him in the counterpunching/defense portion of the game. That's why I think Ward would be the biggest threat - his size helps too. PBF loves to go backward and counter/slip punches. Every fighter out there plays right into his trap & then he easily beats you on the score cards. He makes you worried to punch.
That's the beauty of mayweather style though. It is effective against every style other than his own. Need someone with a similar style and a real mastery of the sweet science to turn it into a real chess match.
You can see here, even in his 1-sided destruction of gatti, what he prefers to do in the ring:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5q57ZboGw0
PBF is always the "snake charmer", in every fight. All of his opponents come in as the cobra; acting vicious, always ready to attack, throwing punches for punches sake. For someone to beat him it would be an incredibly "boring fight" from an action perspective. Snake charmer vs snake charmer.

rios looked the best I've ever seen him. He wasn't smiling/cursing/acting all weird. He was 100% focused. I don't even think he cursed in the interview after the fight. I think he finally realized how to take boxing serious.
He finally had defense. I've never seen him slip so many punches.
very impressive. Really look forward to seeing 'that Rios' fight again.
On the other hand, Alvarado is close to done (if not done already). He's taken some bad losses and he just doesn't have the heart to turn them around, it seems. Rios's losses have never been 'bad', ie, he's never been destroyed/ko'd from what i remember. Alvarado basically quit in the corner. He kept talking about his vision being messed up but it really just seemed like he wanted an out.Quotesome excellent fights are being made.
gennady golovkin vs martin murray
adrian broner vs john molina
danny garcia vs lamont peterson
keith thurman vs robert geurerro
andre berto vs josesito lopez
shawn porter vs roberto garcia
lucas matthysse vs ruslan provodnikov
saul canelo alvarez vs james kirkland (damn cotto for his stubborness for beating past prime sergio martinez)
maybe pacquiao vs mayweather, or pacquiao vs khan or mayweather vs khan one of these is a possibility
carl froch vs bernard hopkins is being discussed and both want it
kovalev/pascal also!
ya 2015 is looking solid. I imagine it'll be pacquiao/khan, that then leaves Mayweather jr with nobody to fight? Looking forward to Wilder's next fight too.
definitely do not want to see froch/hopkins.
pc!
deontay wilder looked impressive.. niiiice.

Ok so I finally gave in -> performed a few SLRVJ's tonight at a local court. Took a quick detour from my run, got in 6 jumps.
I've had this recurring dream (~3x) over the last ~3 months or so. It's me jogging but, occasionally jumping ~20 feet into the air.
Session: Jog & Jump
shoes: nbmt
Run: ~3.4 mi run with slrvj's (L/R) mixed in
- slow, the after effects of each jump would fatigue me.
- felt jumps in quads/calfs
Jumps: 1/4th the way into my 3.4 mi run
- 3 SLRVJ's each at 10' rims
- L SLRVJ: ~10'2 touch on third jump
- R SLRVJ: no 10' touch
- 2 DLRVJ's: no 10' touch
Later: Stretching
whoa. jumping is crack. Surprised I was even able to hit the rim. Jumps didn't feel so bad tbh, which again is surprising given my weight/havn't jumped in ~2+ years? maybe 3?
I like this "jog and jump" concept hehe. it's fun. Eventually it would be fun to go to a court and just jog back and forth SLRVJ'n off L and R legs nice and relaxed, trying to get 10' touches. This time around i'll probably be SLRVJ'n, both legs, with lots of simple training methods like sprints, jogging, jog and jump, some level of reactive work/bounds/pogos/tucks, stretching etc. 2015 is the year of relaxation, studying (math/comp sci/physics), research / programming, simple training etc.

As for the second timing of the flying 60m as whether it is 5.93 or 6.93. I timed based on the video and it was 5.93, but would appreciate if you could time the run in the video and give your results and I will go with that.
Well you timed it very wrong haha. Man, for an engineer you really have serious problems measuring things. But you don't even need to time it to know it can't be right, a 5.93 50m from a three-point start would be world class.
That is where the problem lies if I will be able to get to a track on a regular basis, this time it was just a one off thing to test myself. But I guess you would be correct in my timing.
I was hoping for some gym training as my sprint start was terrible as evident from the video.
If I was in Uni than joining a group was a possibility it was close by and I was part of an athletics group but now it really is not possible due to location and time.
Thanks for the feedback really appreciate it.
Well, do your best, but know that if you really want to improve, the training has to become more complex. I think the advice T0ddday gave you in your sig has become outdated. It wasn't wrong at the time and you seem to have improved from then by following it, but IMO if you want to get to a competitive sprint level from here you need specific strength and speed training that you just can't do on a soccer pitch. But then again, you're never very clear on whether you actually WANT to compete. Just decide on your goals and how badly you want to achieve them.
7' reach?!?! you don't look that short...
OK so here are your results then:
Broad jump: ~2.4m
Highest touch: 9'2'' --> need your reach to calculate SVJ but it looked maybe around 20-22''
5 DL bounds: 11.5m
Flying 60m test:
20m - 2.97
50m - 5.90 --> is this meant to be a 6.90? Otherwise you're running a 2.93 30m split, followed by a 4.9 split...would make more sense to be a 3.93 and a 3.9
80m - 10.8
180m: 25.72sec
1200m: 4:53.54
Pushups: 40 // Pullups: 12 // V-situps: 30
Firstly, well done for doing everything. Here's how I'd rate it all if I were a coach:
Power: average to low --> broad jump: average to good // SVJ: low // 5 DL bounds: low
Speed: average --> flying 30m @ ~3.9-4.0 is not elite pace (for example, I run ~3.2-3.3 for ~12sec 100m FAT), but you maintained an approximately even split for the two flying 30m segments, which is good.
Fitness: average --> 180m was slow, indicating a lack of speed endurance atm (no surprise as you haven't been running far enough to improve your lactic threshold), although conditions didn't sound too good. The 3 lap test wasn't too bad, good work getting under 5mins.
Strength: hard to measure exactly because we couldn't see your form, lighter guys can knock out a lot more bodyweight reps, but 40 pushups and 12 pullups sounds pretty fair. It seems like you have decent strength endurance.
If you were to go out and run a 100m FAT tomorrow, based on these results I'd estimate you'd run about ~13.3-13.4 sec. You definitely have improved your speed to potentially a 13.0 level, but I'd say your fitness in the last 40m would slow you down. Your 200m wouldn't be pretty, maybe around 28.0 Again, you'd need to improve both your top-end speed and fitness a lot if you wanted to run a fast 200m.
Moving forward, you have to ascertain if you can train at the track and gym regularly. Your hill sprint program won't get it done if you really want to improve from here because they won't train your biggest weaknesses directly. I can give you workouts to do but it's really if you have the facilities to do them in. Also, joining a group again would be HUGELY beneficial for you.
