Yes , if he's actually 6'6'' like i allways thought , and maybe the rim is 9'11'' , 1 more inch from camera angle , there you go 53'' minimum realistic!

DAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!

This guy gets his head tip above rim higher than i will probably get my hand tip ever , WTF??

And he's not even jumping for height , he is doing a BTL during it!!!

Still shocked... :o x 1000

u bring up good points, just reading that "and he's not even jumping for heigh, he is doing a BTL during it" i actually got goose bumps koz i didnt even think about that.. makes it even more impressive..

still shocked... x 1000000

sick jump!!!

ill go for 4'' below palm - 12'' above wrist - 11' touch - 35'' RVJ , too distorted , could be 0,5'' higher , no way lower!

ya definitely distorted, i agree i think its 35 too.. im gonna break passed 35 in a few weeks i know it, missing ingrediant = walking lunges, depth jumps & programming..

as far as programming, my new routine is somewhat like this, with ability to change it easily when needed:
Day 1: workout #1 = dunks (not too far past dropoff), workout #2 = short sprints full recovery (not too far past dropoff) + bodyweight stuff
Day 2: workout #1: very short sprints (10 yarders etc), depth jumps onto box (bench) (from 18 and/or 30) + bodyweight stuff

throwing in rest days when needed.. the key is changing the sprint emphasis to workout #2 on day 1, this way i can really go hard without worry about killing my jumping the next day, which it wont be in this setup, it'll be two days later.

peace

6/21/2010:

BW = 157

workout #1: dunks
- hit one really good 35 or so RVJ on a missed dunk, pictures above
- hit a few other good jumps but strength/power endurance was down bigtime, too few kcal the day before

workout #2: sprints/bw stuff
- walked for ~4 miles with interval sprints mixed it
- interval sprints felt the fastest ive probably ever felt in my life... i was only doing 20-40 yards.. i only did about 6-7 100% max effort sprints in that 4 miles, so lots of rest between each.. weirdest shit though, after each sprint i felt like i needed to puke, deep down in my stomach.. i didn't but i had that feeling.. i didnt get it while jogging or doing anything else.. i think my CNS was just going psychotic.
- walking lunges: didnt count but about 100 each leg, covered a pretty far distance.. felt great.. quads/hams/glutes shaking after
- chinups: 15
- deep bar dips: 10
- pmghr: 8 (hamstrings/glutes pulsating)
- calf raises: 50 (glutes pulsating)
- diamond pushups: 20

done :D

<- dead.

we have 2 threads on this , the other is off-topic though , http://www.adarq.org/forum/pics-videos-links/check-out-this-guy-who-subscribed-to-me/ , move it here Andrew...

ya.. can't really move it though, damn nba104912049120 for posting that amazing dunk in the tutu thread!!!!! :)

ok this is the best I can do :F

it can't be 59 that's the problem.. i just don't see how that would be possible @)RI!@R!)K!@)DKEF)K

i mean i just hangtimed it dirty using imoviehd, that shit is definitely above 30 frames of hang time from triple extension being first frame.. its like 31-32 frames it looks like..

that is fucking psychotic.. i'd go 53-56 or so due to camera angle.. im not willing to give it 59 but definitely 53-56..

THAT SHIT IS ADARQ & VAG APPROVED. NO JOKE.

im amazed.

Haha, predicted you'd get a 35". Any makes yesterday or only misses?

Anyway nice jumping once again ;D.

you were definitely correct man, good prediction :) i would have had much more good jumps across the board but my power endurance/strength endurance was gone, too few calories yesterday.

well i made 3, but they are kinda whack i think i really havn't looked them over much, just got done food shoppin!

gonna check them out now.. that was definitely my highest jump of the night, this kid i knew who was watching, his response was like "daaaaaamn" hehe! i had tried 3 dunks before that and he was not too impressed, but on that one he was real impressed.. so thats funny, i knew i hit a nasty jump on that one.

im pretty sure thats the dunk that i strained my forearm with too.. i strained it bad during one dunk attempt, was bugging the rest of the session.

ill check them all out now and upload some vid on my adarqtv account tomorrow :D

hmmmmmm......

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2G8FOfOKoHI

in a video before this he said "im getting a little higher now", and i think he is in this vid if the rim is legit.....I wonder what he does?

ya i think it looks pretty legit, which makes it even more disgusting.. well he's workin with this high jump coach, Skip or something.. his jumps have been up and down, but obviously up for this dunk contest, god damn.

very very sick dunk thats one of the best i've ever seen.

i liked the vid actually, is this not the highest jump you've ever seen

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2G8FOfOKoHI

ya i was just showing that to a bunch of people, looks pretty legit to me, i don't see much camera angle at all other than it being crooked, that shit is unreal..

judging from darlington's reaction, it had to have been near PR level for him.. i don't see him get that excited usually..

:)

i havn't been eating good the last few days and it showed on tonight's dunk session, though I had a few really good jumps, this is the best one, two frames of it, 26 frames from triple extension to first contact with ground on landing, which is basically 35 RVJ or 36 i forget, i'll have to put it in my hangtime calculator on here: 26 * .033 = .856 or something

here's the PEAK of the jump, but possibly slight cam angle distortion:

here's the frame right after that, as i start coming back down, less camera angle distortion:

bump, added an example video at the top, an "SWDC session" :D

i'll post the times i got in order a little later for fun, all in all they were good times.. multiple .09's and a bunch of .10/.11's.. I hit a .09/.07 before taping, so thats what got me to video tape this.

With little kids, it helps that they weigh like 40 pounds. I think it was Lyle who pointed out that most 7-year-old girl gymnasts can embarrass the shit out of most well-trained adult men in bodyweight strength stuff.

well ya for sure that helps but when i was that young, if could barely do pushups HEH! didn't even know what a pullup was... so yea these kids definitely have an edge with training like this at a young age, i really do love this kind of training for young kids, properly implemented of course, without a TON of intense landings.. moderate gymnastics/bodyweight training at a young age has very impressive results down the road, wish i had done that stuff when i was young.

i found a vert of some really young gymnastics girl it looked near 20, she must have been about 8 years old, i think i linked it on here.. was very impressive.. all of the boys i tested during camps at memorial sportscenter, you'd be extremely lucky to get a 12 inch vert at age 8 ehehe.

i had a 14 svj... at 15yrs old!!

ya exactly, you would have been on the lower end of performance on kids i test at 15.. for 15, kids were getting 18-26.. had a few 26+ (26,27,29.5) etc, those kids were extremely explosive though..

my SVJ was probably around that low at 15 though too, it was pretty horrible HEH.

I'm gonna take a while to re-introduce loading but half squats/RDL's would probably be a good place to start once it feels okay again. Good tips though, wouldn't have thought to just reduce ROM. In other words, I'm dumb. :D

lool

i'll try to video tape you this double leg hamstring iso that you could probably do, it actually kills me it's good shit..

description:
- lying down supine, put a small bend in both knees (very small), dorsi flex, squeeze glutes to extend hips off the ground a little..
- you'll be on your heels
- should really feel it in hamstrings, a small bit in low back but it goes away after, never had problems for it
- iso it for time.

You can do that same kind of thing with feet on say an 18" surface (chair) but legs completely locked, that's more of a double leg - stiff leg hip extension.. could rep those or iso it.

I'd imagine single/double leg glute bridges wouldn't feel to bad on the ankle..

And finally you have prone 90 degree glute..

So there you have 5 things:
- double leg hamstring iso
- double stiff leg hip extension (iso or rep out)
- double leg glute bridges (iso or rep out)
- single leg glute bridges (iso or rep out)
- prone glute (rep out)

hope that helps.. it's better than nothing.. could also probably do hamstring curls at the gym but i dno.

peace!

Word, thanks man.

After taking a few days off, it's time to figure out how I'm going to work around this thing. It's still uncomfortable, but no pain except on extreme dorsiflexion/eversion and plantar flexion/inversion. Any recommendations for lower body exercises that don't involve the ankles?

In the meantime, I will continue to do upper body work and increase the focus on core strengthening. Once the ankle feels normal again: balancing, mobility/stretching, maybe some BSS iso holds, GHR, working in more compound/weighted stuff as it gets stronger. I will probably take a month off from ultimate.

Here we go again...

gah.. what if you did half squat off pins/rdl/deadlift off pins or something like that? obviously not going max but just using a moderate load to keep your strength? that would allow you to avoid those extreme angles while still recruiting some considerable mass..

:/

I think you must have been thinking of someone else lol it was just "Tam". Didn't post much though.
Thanks, i think i was around 180-185lbs when i hit the 37" RVJ. I will get higher i think if i go back down to that weight. Yeah it was awkward as hell jumping but at my heaviest could still throw down a one hander pretty comfortably.
Yeah i will keep a training journal, thanks i certainly will.

ah..

ya man, try and maintain as much of your squat as you can while going back down, and you will be absolutely flying.. you'll probably end up hitting 40 around 190 lb.

zigzagging diet will be important for helping to lose some of that fat while maintaining squat, just make sure you eat big before your heavy squat (lower body) days and you'll be fine.. then just pretty much eat moderate throughout the rest of the week.. Two big eatin` days a week seems to be enough to really help maintain strength while reducing bodyfat levels slowly.

peace man!
