haha anythings possible man and Randys chin sure has looked suspect lately.  That being said, and I know this will still be up and I will look stupid if Im wrong, its just not going to happen.  The boxers that can transition to MMA are the guys that fight on the outside well.  Guys like Toney that have that lean on your shoulder and trade dont do well since the position they like to fight in means an automatic clinch and takedown in mma.  But yea, Randy has never thrown alot of (any) kicks, so he will have to get in by boxing with him a little bit and Toney could POSSIBLY catch him on the way in, but very unlikely. (that last line is so I wont look completely retarded if Randy comes out and gets caught)

well, it should be interesting.. i mean all logic points to couture dominating for sure. i'd like to see couture stand with him and get ko'd though.. i'm an mma fan but this is a freak fight, so i hope it blows up in ufc's fight.. they are just looking to diss boxing with this match up.

regardless, toney is a tough SOB, i don't know how he would be able to stop a takedown, but who knows how scrappy he is on the ground.. i can't imagine him giving up for one second in the fight.. if he can drag it out at all, while being on the ground, he has a big shot at ko'n couture.. all he needs to do is jab couture, and couture would be done, no joke, coleman and nog phased couture very easily, his chin is 0 hah.

but ya the vast majority of boxers can't do shit on the ground, they just have no sense down there.. that's where he will be wrecked.

toney probably going to be eatin` good at burger king the night before the fight though, that fat fuck.

one glass is two cups.. so 14 cups of milk hah.. that's a shit-ton of protein.

wtf, what is his max?

He says 660 on one of his youtube comments and that his repping ability is much better than max lifting. Absolute beast though!

ya, that's awesome.. great vid thanks for posting that.

he looks so dense too, upper body.. guy is freak.

nice vid.. t-dub is my favorite power dunker, without a doubt.

Short rim, obviously. The promoters have every reason to let the dunkers do the most ridiculous shit possible. Ergo, a 9'6" or 9'8" rim.

i agree that the rims are low, 9'8 at lowest but probably around 9'10.. everyone gets way higher on those rims, and they look damn low.

but i have no doubt t-dub can hit his head on a legit 10' on his best jump... too much footage of him getting that high on so many rims. :)

hmmm... so what are those lateral hop things for? i dun see u prescribing me exotic BW stuff like that haha!

well i didn't have a good grasp on your training/job/basketball so i mostly just helped you setup those 1x/week workouts.. but now i have a much better grasp on it so, come GPP time for next training cycle you'll be doing lots of that stuff!

Quote
lemme get back to u re the schedule eh?

- GPP : 8 weeks
- STRENGTH : 4 weeks
- PEAK: 4-6 weeks

if this is what is required, then fuck, lets do it.
would i be able to recover in time for the weekend game during my GPP phase?

the travelling time to the company gym is a bitch, so imma go look at the gym memberships near my place...

ya you'd be able to recover by the weekend for sure..

if money is an issue or anything like that, then we can setup a GPP that has 1x/week lifting like you normally do, but with other days being very intense bodyweight/force absorption/low level plyo stuff etc.. so don't freak out, do what is comfortable, we can design an effective under either circumstance.. i prefer more lifting as it will be able to lead to more lean mass gain, but again, do what's comfortable and i will design a full GPP /strength/peak phase for this upcoming training cycle.

the only thing that would stay the same regardless of your gym access would be how many weeks each phase would be..

peace mang!

my latest physique pic, i've been tanning:

another great workout today..

7/8/2010

BW = 157

soreness: none
aches: none
injuries: none

legs felt shaky before workout.. but still workout was good.

weight BEFORE workout: 160
weight AFTER workout: 153 <-- lol

workout:
- ~2 miles of interval sprints: 10's & 20's - mostly 20's.. my acceleration feels really good right now heh

- jumps in flats: very good, mostly 31's for LR and a few 32's.. for RL, hit 10'4"s, for L-SLRVJ hit 124's, for R-SLRVJ hit 10'-10'1 off full runup PR

- ~2 mile jog to depth drop area..

- squat depth drops: warmup: 18" @ 3x5, work sets: 30" @ 3x10 <------- LANDINGS WERE *MUCH* BETTER TODAY!!!!!!
- split squat depth drops: 18" @ 3x5 each leg <----- AGAIN, LANDINGS WERE MUCH BETTER THAN LAST SESSION!!!!!!!

- walk home

- neutral grip pullups: 16
- dips: 10
- partial neutral grip pullups: 30
- dip knee raises: 30

whew.......... great workout !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the depth drops were so much better than last session (first session), so that's a good sign... need to keep progressing on these over time, until im landing soft from some impressive heights :D that's the only way ill be able to really introduce some overload without squatting / lunging heavy.

peace!

ah... didnt notice vag had vids up haha.

oooh, so its alright to do them with the smith machine?
i tried BSS early in my training days, but i couldnt really balance properly when the weight was relatively heavy for me, so i stopped doing them, replacing them with squats.

it's maybe the only unilateral lift (or lift in general) that i'd use a smith machine with.. but i prefer barbell on unilaterals, so i always advise barbell walking lunge, barbell stepup, or barbell reverse lunge.. preferably barbell walking lunge.

peace
