tbh I haven't seen much football. I thought it is just run and bump. In my mind the only technical part is the long distance passes, everything else is just out=strengthening/powering/sprinting your opponents. I would love to discover the technical side of this sport. Granted it is already VERY appealing without it, a technical side too makes me easily imagine why you go crazy about it.

all that lifting and plyos and stuff dont count if you dont actually try to dunk, thats like by far the most important part

Very much disagree. But let me explain : I don't doubt the intentions of your message and how much you believe it, but i think it is misleading. You are a gifted young guy that got to over 40'' by just going out to dunk. Do you have any awareness of how rare that is? It is VERY rare. Scooby is a slow un-explosive un-gifted man. Like most of us. Plus he is mid 30s. This 'just go out and jump and go hard at it' advice is highly irritating for normal guys like us. It is like calling us stupid, if it was so simple why haven't we tried it so many years?
Again though, just to avoid misunderstandings:
1) I do respect and admire your jumping progress AND dedication.
2) I don't doubt at all that you are just trying to help and share your own experience/perspective.
3) I do believe that jumping often is very important for jumping high.
We average Joes without any natural 'bounce' actually wish and hope soooo much that you were right, that going out and trying to dunk was the way.
But no, unfortunately for us the squat rack is by far the most important and useful tool to improve our jump.

It is the sport nature that dictates the combine numbers. Football ( handegg actually ) is much more physical, all you gotta do to excel is be a beast. Basketball on the other hand is highly technical, you can be an amazing athlete and still get trashed on court ( see James White ). Now if you've got the skills and you are an athletic beast, then even better for you ( see LBJ ). You can't be a good NFL player if you are not a beast though. So this differentiation has it's obvious result on each combine.
Obvious analysis is obvious.

Don't train through the quad sprain. You have nothing to win and very much to lose from that tactic. Recover it. Tons of foam rolling and stretching, plus some recovery work ( light leg extensions, BW half squats etc. ). But DONT SPRINT through it. I had a nice page with evaluation/rehab process that i followed when i had my own quad sprain (which i turned into a chronic one for being an asshole and training through it ), ill link it here if i find it.

^Nice plan, thanks.

Very short on time today, barely managed to squeeze in a 30' shoot around/layups session. Little is always better than none.

Agreed, rowing was about gym days. Weekly program will also have one indoor full court basketball day and one 'park' day. Will see how it goes, last night rowing felt much harder/draining than i expected. But that is not necessarily bad. Might alternate between rowing and treadmill/bike later on.

Bodyweight@session : ~84,75kg
Soreness : none
Injuries/aches : none

HANG POWER CLEAN
5@20kg
5@30kg
5@40kg
3@50kg
2@57,5kg ( +2,5 kg ) , ( -1 rep )
-Very nice.

ATG PAUSED SQUAT:
5@67,5kg ( +2,5 kg )
5@67,5kg ( +2,5 kg )
5@67,5kg ( +2,5 kg )
MEBM SQUAT ( no pause ) : 20@50kg
-Should have gone heavier on MEBM.

PAUSED STANDING CALF RAISE ( 1:1:5 ):
8@60kg
8@65kg
8@70kg
-Realized i forgot calves the previous weeks.

ROWING MACHINE:
5 mins, lol. Covered 930m, average 30spm@80W. Shit is hard. Gonna have to build up to 20minutes, maybe cut down on effort a bit, not sure i can keep that pace for 20 minutes.

Was out of time for upper. Might do it today. Maybe i will split this first big day into 2, 1 upper / 1 lower, then keep the other two workout days of the week as they are.
That will bring me to 4 gym days a week, 1 lower , 1 upper, 2 combined. With the addition of rowing every time it could work out well overall.
