Beastin man! Need to give these high rep walking lunges a try one day.

thanks man, and ya they are killer.. first few sessions of high rep lunges you can get crazy sore, but it's insane how the body adapts to them.

bump, check the end of the original post, I added dcjayhawk's video of his jump session. The first half of the vid is basketball shoes, second half is waffles, check the difference in his spring/jump height.

ok so i keep thinking about this dream, happened 3 days ago or so.. dno why i keep thinking about it.

anyway, long story short, very vivid dream.. i see some object, turns out to be a ufo.. im outside training.. so i run home to get my HD cam.. then i run back out to the park to film it.. so im filming some crazy ufo shit.

that's about it.

bw = 161
soreness = glutes, quads a bit tight but not sore
aches/injures: left hamstring tendon pinching at times, left sole of foot/ball of foot real achy/tender, left achilles achy sometimes (odd)
oddness: had my reflexive extending of hips/knees when getting up after lying down/sitting down, its like a violent contraction as i stand up... this happens when im jumping really good so, happy about it.. rip gets the same thing after he wakes up HEH.

i was weak all day.. last night's workout made me tired mentally.

workout:
- C1: 200m sprints: 90% effort @ 3x, 70% effort @ 2 x
- C1: pogo hops: 2 x 5 (2 sets for every 200m sprint)
- C1-stuff: so 200m sprint, walk back, pogo hops (2x), repeat
- tried doing some upper but i just had no ability to do it

pogo hops felt very bounce, i was surprised.. had alot of bounce tonight, good sign for friday.

i might do some more 200's tomorrow, like how i used to do 400's before some of those massive dunk sessions a year ago..

tomorrow will be, 200's, possibly pogos (1x3-5 per 200), 135 lb squat singles complexed with jump squat to box (20+ lb)

Looks good man. Tough.

thanks man, it was brutal.. my lateral delt is wrecked, from holding those db's out to the sides too far.. couldn't hold them at my sides relaxed$!@

week 38
GPP week 1: Wed, lower B

warmup, prehab
sprint warmup
sprint: 3 x ME, approx 20m

ME jumps

(fuck, forgot the tuck jumps!)

jump squats
5 x 3 x 20kg

Pin squats
8 x 60, 80, 90

DB walking lunges (3sec pause)
7, 5, 4, 5 x 25kg each hand

grip gave out on this, had to drop the weights, and regroup before retrying.

dips
2 x 20

pullups
1 x 15

losing grip, couldnt hang on properly :/

if grip is an issue, is it possible to do barbell ? or how about wrist straps for the db's? wrist straps would help alot.

nice session man!

19943
how do i do seated calf raises?

unilaterally, with DB on thigh?

or perhaps, setting it up at the smith?

go DB on thigh, front of foot on some plates.

Three questions:

1. Rambo knife?

for the gang bangers

Quote
2. Did you have someone else up there or did you use some kind of fancy editing trick to get the camera to pan?

fancy editing technique :D pretty sick right haha..

Quote
3. Any special reason you land on your toes?

landing on heel to my is unathletic, i get more hamstrings /ankle strength this way..

:)

7-27-10

18" depth jumps 3x5- first two sets was getting 26", did 5 or 6 rvj's got up to 31.5". Last set of dj's were 26.5-27.5", felt good, forceful in a good way. Did some more rvj's after last set, got up to 33"- pr on vertec, then topped out at 33.5". Jumps were really good, felt float. 33.5" = 10'3 touch

squat: 135x5 185x3 225x1 255x1 MSEM: 285x1 295x1 295x.5- pinned. Weight felt heavy again like last time idk wtf, not too worried about it, will rest for a few days then next squat workout should be good.

core circuit x2

two PR's in one session, pretty badass.

your squat confuses me so much, i would have bet money you would hit those singles.. might just need more work with those poundages on your back.. maybe start finishing each squat session (right after squatting) with some unracking of some heavy weights, don't even need to hold it long or do any quarter squat iso stuff..

bw = 161
soreness = none
aches/injuries: both hamstring tendons pinching periodically (blah!), left heel, back tight

those damn ECCENTRIC ghr's did it, for sure. a few days ago.. no more of those for a while, back to partials, hopefully HEH.

my goal of 400 walking lunges with 30 lb db's failed pretty hardcore HEH.. but still good i guess.

workout: ON THE TOP FLOOR OF A PARKING GARAGE
- 30 lb db walking lunges: 100 total, 40 total, 40 total, 20 total (to get to 200)
- BW x 60 total, 30 lb db x 40 total <-- 300
- BW x 60 total, 30 lb db x 40 total <-- 400
- BW x 60 total, 30 lb db x 40 total <-- 500
- BW x 100 total <-- 600
- 30 lb db x 40 total <-- 640
- THE END
- toast/dead/lolz.

about to upload the 100 total.. shit was brutal.. my damn db's are hard to hold, adjustable db's + 10 lb plates, the 10 lb plates are pretty big so i kind of have to abduct my shoulders a bit, really tires them out.. vid will be on my youtube later, gonna let it upload when i sleep.

both ham tendons still pinching, so lame.

here's how i do my bodyweight walking lunges btw:

400,000 :D

*dances*

19950
Phase II Day 8 (Monday)

Front squat: 5x5 @ 135 lbs. (I dropped weight and focused on good form and going all the way down on each one, I'll be going back up weight next week, I'm just terrible at front squats)

Close grip incline benchess: 5x5 @ 125 lbs.

Bulgarian split squats: 2x8 @ bw + 30 lb dumbbells. pr

One arm row (elbow out): 2x8 @ 40 lb dumbbells.

front squats are very tough imo, most people have a hard time with them, but boy do they make you strong as hell.. i'd say they have even more carry over to vert than back squat too, at least from my experience.. they really tax my upper back though, so i stick to back squat personally.

good job on the BSS.
