i like the v-max vest because it's short.. but apparently it doesn't have the best 'stability'..

i don't see anyone 'flexing the spine' in it though.. dno maybe i missed it.

Emerald Isle, NC.

Since I'm online anyway, here's what I did yesterday and today (in addition to walking on the beach and swimming in the ocean):

Sunday 8/22 -- biked x6 miles, played tennis x45 minutes, low intensity

Monday 8/23 -- played tennis x60 minutes, low intensity, played kadima x20 minutes, very low intensity.

Forgot my !(*#&$(*& jump rope at home. Oops.

Also, adarq,  :highfive: for the new emoticons.

jump rope without a rope like alex maroko, just mimic the movement.. lolsjk.

nice man, i like the workouts.. having fun & getting back in shape :D

np about the emoticons :)

Good news though, I talked to my coach in the gym and I'll probably be able to get a set of hurdles, which means I'll be training sprints and hurdle form on my off days. Nothing too heavy yet though, I'll experiment with some routines. Suggestions and positive criticism are always welcome of course, as usual.

very nice.. i'm all for that, must maintain proficiency.. just ease back into it over 2 weeks.

warmup + hurdle mobility + tempo hurdle sprints to start?

Man, that first picture is looking ridiculously high! Can't believe that is 36"! What is your standing reach?

probably 96" in waffle racers.. reach was 96.5" single arm in basketball shoes.

OH BTW, that little dude with the yellow socks, he goes "why are you wearing track shoes" hahahaha

kid was jacked for how old he was.. seemed very athletic & analytical.

how one can run a 4 mile is beyond me... i'd die for sure!!

sub 5 min mile is nice but not ridiculous.. sub 4 is on another planet.. 3:43 is on a different universe :d

Wow, those pics are epic! Great jumping man! How high is that approximately?

Youtube video still not up :(

vid is up now, check post.. modified it.

dno man, i'm guessing like 35-36" (dno if i was fully outstretched) on that first jump on the vid.. dno about the head heights, though i felt like i clipped that backboard pad on the last jump in the vid.

i only really took one max effort jump, which is the first jump in the vid.. usually i jump 2" higher AT LEAST when doing lobs.. so ya kind of disappointed about the circumstances.. it was raining outside so, couldn't goto an outdoor court, predicted to rain all night too.

edit: well those head heights were max effort too.. happy about the last one considering the runup steps.

gonna do tons of cardio tonight, 3.9 mile run then walk another 4 miles or so..

gotta get to 150...... 40+ !@$!@$!@ focus focus focus.

remind me never to go to this court after 2pm EST, EVER.. so many little jits running around.. i mean some of them are cool but there's just too many of them..

8/22/2010

bw = 160
soreness = hamstrings
aches/injuries = ankles annoyed a bit from walk last night

workout #1: "dunks"
- court was wet in a bunch of spots.. too many kids on court.. so all i did was a few max RVJ's and some head heights.. i honestly should have just kept doing max RVJ's, dno why i even tried doing dunks given the environment (wet spots, 100 kids)
- got some nice jumps on film, bout to upload..
- i would have been flying insane today, for sure.. sucks but whatever.

workout #2 tonight will be distance running..
- hit 4.55 miles in 36min flat! ~3min improvement over last session.. started tiring around 3mile again.. but alot better this time
- that comes out to 7:50/mile pace..
- walked about 1.5 mile with interval sprints thrown in, then ran another two miles
- note to self, don't do max effort 10's/20's after such a long jog, achilles tweaked on one of them.. feels fine now hopefully it's nothing
- weight before workout #2: 161, after: 155
