i just realized this mosquito bite i got on my ankle a few nights ago isn't actually a mosquito bite.. i never really looked at it, only would scratch it.. but it has two fang marks in it..

i havn't been able to sleep just thinking about the huge spider that must exist somewhere ready to take another chomp.

Well I'm no expert, but I noticed that when you come up, you kinda jerk and lock your knees. In doing this, I wonder if this could cause damage to your knees in the long run. I'd like to know for myself, if a slow coming up all the way is better than doing it how you're doing?

well, you'll get people (coaches/trainers) telling you not to forcefully accelerate through the squat all the way up through lockout, but that's more fitness-industry regurgitation, which helps people who are out of shape not get injured.. but you have to think about how much more vicious locking out of the joints is, in say a running jump etc.. in fit athletes, locking out completely is fine.. most athletes are taught to accelerate the bar with max speed all the way up, regardless of how heavy it is.. this will always cause some kind of full extension at the knee/hip.. it really is not much of a problem, it only becomes a problem in less-fit individuals, sedentary, elderly, etc..

as always though, listen to your body.. if you lock out and you feel it is bothering your knees, cut it out and see how you feel.. locking out has never posed a problem with myself or anyone i've trained, in fact i would say it has helped prevent injury, as it helps develop the VMO more, which stabilizes the patella during all types of movements.. weak vmo is a cause of many many knee injuries.

peace!

Hi dumbass, it's called outbox.

That should be "Hi, dumbass, it's called outbox." by the way.

PMs do not automatically appear in one's outbox.

i need to make it default somehow.. it's on the agenda :D

bw = 158
soreness = calfs
aches/injuries = calfs, low back, left achilles slightly, left ham tendon a little

workout:
- nice warmup
- 10-20's x 4
- 200 x 1
- 20's x 3
- 200 x 1
- 20's x 3
- 200 x 1
- 20's x ~5
- bw walking lunges: 2 x 50tot <- dead
- neutral grip pullups: 12
- bar dips: 8
- ghr: 8 x 3 (very good tonight, strong half reps)
- pushups: 30
- double leg hamstring iso: dno how long, until failure

20's felt VERY fast.. 200's were garbage, strength endurance was garbage tonight..

had something interesting happen, on one of my 20's, i took a few quick decel steps then pogo'd off my right leg very high onto the sidewalk.. so basically i went to jump onto the sidewalk but i was going very fast into my plant and handled it well.. i did this right leg about 3 times (after 3 20's).. the one left leg attempt i did was a failure but i think it's because of how i was trying to jump angled 'left' to my left..... anyway, i have to remember to finish sessions with single leg jumps, because when my double leg is dead, i still have pop doing SLRVJ's so.. i need to get those in more often, and i need to practice pogo'n with as much speed as i had tonight.

i'm going out tmw night so i have to try and wakeup a little earlier to get some dunks done.. hope it isn't raining.. if i get to dunk, i plan on trying a bunch of dribble up dunks and single leg self alley's maybe.. going to mix it up a bit and work on some other things....................... chance of rain 50% on the forecast.. not good !!!! ehehe

peace

say adarq, what would the next phase of the training be like?
and how many sessions a week?

we're at week 5 now, so that means in the best situation, 3 more weeks right?
would it be of detriment if we cut it by a week or 2?
i mean, yea obviously like 8 workouts worth training less, but what other things?

well i was planning on 8, we'll see, i mean if you really want too then of course we'll do that.. why you want to cut it by a week or two? just wondering?

Damn , that's an insane jump!!!
That's 13'' above easily !
35 and 36 my ass , that's 37'' for sure!!!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Same here, easy 37''
That rim looks pretty legit so the backboard base is supposed to be at 9'2'' , so you need 3' to barely touch the bottom of it so...

Awesome jumps , huge non lifting achievements , congrats!!!

hm... i'm starting to see it a bit differently now.. so far i've gotten like 4 comments thinking it's 37".. i don't think i was fully outstretched either to be honest.. i was reaching today but not fully stretching, but i don't usually fully stretch unless im lobbing.

i go through almost bipolar-ish phases where all of my jumps look like shit.. i'm in one of those right now.. but what's interesting is, it makes me want to get up way higher.. like im in a period of being very "unsatisfied".. but that's fueling me to get down to 150 while pushing my squat up, so it's good stuff.

thanks for the kind words vag and the proper analysis ! hehe

3" above the "crease in my arm" (hinge, elbow) is 40".. so looking at that pic definitely has it looking pretty high.. i used to think it was 2" from crease but after looking at the pic again its 3":

ok ok cool! i'll be satisfied with head on rim.. not really too far away if i really think about it.. must get it done.. i want to bang my head on the rim so hard that streams of blood fly out of the laceration, in HD.

peace man

edit: and ya, rim definitely seems legit.. i mean, today i only hit about 10'5 off RL DLRVJ, and i never get more than like 10'-10'1 SVJ on that rim.. so i mean i'd imagine i would be PR'n vert/RL DLRVJ etc on it.. i hate measuring rims it's a pain in the ass, that's why i just use a ton of rims and reproduce results on all of them.

i like the v-max vest because it's short.. but apparently it doesn't have the best 'stability'..
