Hate the voiceover but Waiters's dunk is pretty much one of my dream in game dunks.

draymond... draymond.. draymond.

dumb move. can't imagine he won't get suspended.. looked intentional.

wow did GSW get knocked the fuck out.

If he gets suspended are they out? Would make it a lot harder if he is.

And yeah it looked intentional. After the fact. No reason to be raising his leg like that.

OKCs game plan should be KD in the first half and then let Russell take over once he's warmed up and taken all his shit shots.

Did the technical get rescinded?

They ended up with a double. Not sure if that was rescinded and then they added another though.

Man he way oversold that one. He still would have got the call he was after just by falling over on the spot. Reminded me of the WWE.

Did you either a) watch the video or b) read the article?

The whole purpose is to bend the back. The entire spine in fact.

Well it might be different for you but in my case I already have some kyphosis (slight hunchback/cervical flexion posture) and my default lumbar spine position is also in slight flexion, neither of which are good things imo. Why would I want more flexion mobility in the spine?? The spine is supposed to be stable, not mobile. Also I don't really see the mechanism for "Strengthening of the connective tissue between the vertebrae" or "Improved back health under load" which the article claims. In my opinion, that spinal flexion is just reinforcing a bad movement pattern.

Yeah if you're already in the position then they may not be appropriate. I know for me doing these and pancake style stretches has great benefits.

The main benefit of that movement is getting the spine strong in flexion and gaining control in that position. Hamstring length is a side benefit. They are done loaded which which provides the strength element.

Injury, Prehab, & Rehab talk for the brittlebros / Pre Game Warm Up
« on: May 19, 2016, 09:52:40 pm »
For those guys who are playing what's your go to pre game warm up? I'm starting again next week and want to be able to do a decent warm up without looking like an NBA wannabe douche bag. I used to do a full comprehensive warm up back when playing a higher level but now it's a social game more than anything. Even so I'm getting older and want to make sure I'm ready to go and less likely to injure myself.  I'm usually at the courts about 10-15 prior to the game and have 3-5 mins on court prior to tip off. Cheers.

it is also very healing and enhances athleticism no matter what sports you do.  and put in enough time and effort, you can increase your flexibility.  granted it might be a very slow process for some but, never the less everyone can improve their flexibility.

I favor stretching being beneficial most entirely due to personal experiences with it. There's times where i've stretched a ton the day prior, then the next day I feel springier than ever.

It was "permanent" flexibility, in the sense that, when I woke up, I could easily get my heel to my butt without any "working into it".. legs just felt so loose/springy. Love that feeling.

I agree with both of these posts. Stretching especially helps me prepare for a big tournament. I just stretch+roll and feel so bouncy the next day

I didn't read the articles.. But I wanted to say that stretching helps me prep recovering joints for harder forces and extreme ranges of motion.

I have complained about my poor hamstring flexibility but I have seen marked short-term improvements after pushing RDL ROM with a locked back. RDL's are essentially PNF stretches, so I can attest for the effectivness of that. If I did consistent PNF stretches I think I would develop much better flexibility

Have you tried Jefferson Curls?

Great for hamstring length.

Got notified today that the team I'm rejoining has been placed in the lowest possible section for the grading matches. Kind of awesome and kind of not. Means we should win every match easily but also means competition will be poor. Could be good practice though and may be plenty of opportunities to dunk when I get back to it. No doubt we will move up a couple of sections after the grading matches though.

man westbrook played BAD.. kind of made my point. Durant went off, but westbrook played horrible, and they ended up just getting demolished.

I was so surprised that they brought Curry back into the game in the 4th, when they were up like 25+.. he should have had ice wrapped around his elbow wtf?

Only saw the highlights of this one so didn't see how bad he played. Funny though that Curry and Thompson were off in the 4th qtr game 1 and they got beat. Westbrook is off game two and they get beat. Might come down to who's more consistent.

Yeah that's ridiculous. Especially given how much he missed with his knee.

CLE/TOR starts in 65 mins. Can't wait.

New  :personal-record: = made it to 36!!! Now if only my vert was the same.

20/05/2016

Skipping, hanging, shoulder dislocations, 1st rib release

Incline Bench-
bar x 10, 40 x 5, 60 x 3,
70 x 3, 65 x 4, 60 x 6

Dips-
bw x 5, 4, 4

Cable Rows-
68 x 10, 10, 10

Tricep pushdown-
forgot what weight i used - 8 & 10 reps

Hanging leg raises (knees bent)
bw x 10, 7

Pallof press-
27kg x 5, 5 (each side)

Not too bad a session. Bench was lacking but I haven't done much there for a while. First time I've done dips too in ages and they went ok. Usually bother my shoulder which is why I kept reps low. Want to build to 3x10 then I'll add weight.

Leg raises were pretty good too. Definitely need to work on core though.

Just doing my own thing while Toddday sorts me out with a program. Cannot wait.
