Boxing / Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs Manny Pacquiao - May 2, 2015
« on: December 08, 2015, 04:29:31 pm »
I actually enjoyed the match in slow then actual fast version, as I see the punches landed by pacquiao, mayweather with his clever pot shots and pacquiao is trying to time his punches when mayweather is in the corner but mayweather just jabs just to get his concentration off lol.

how wrong was I?

wow wtf?

 :wowthatwasnutswtf:

+1
wtf, I am going to watch that again, daniel caught him badly, I did say that if he found the opportunity he would knock him out, but damn
jacobs was vicious after smelling fear and danger from quillin and was on him, which after quillin did not respond not even once except hold and the punch that knocked quillin dizzy, wow.

I was soo wrong in it going 12 rounds but there was that feeling that there was a possiblity for jacobs to knock him out but at the time of the fight, i saw quillin was big and was thinking there aint no way jacobs is going to knock this guy out. but ... just speechless.

Oh yeah, he was never knocked out, but in his match against andy lee he was dropped, so maybe if jacobs finds that chance. maybe.

Boxing / jacobs vs quillin

Its a hard fight to predict, quillin has been knocked out before and jacobs has lost before and knocked down also, but I think quillin's knockdown was recent so I think it will go to the score cards and there maybe a knockdown from quillin to jacobs but maybe jacobs may win.

But did you see jacobs face at the weigh in, is he normally that drained, it was scary, he looked skeletal he just looked in bad shaped and there was either something in his mouth when he was on the scale or is it just the state he was in.

But quillin seems to have the size advantage.

Nutrition & Supplementation / Re: Supplements in 2015
« on: December 02, 2015, 03:33:08 pm »
I've personally never been big into supps. Back when I lifted hard for dunking, I took whey protein. I took caffeine (in the form of 2 scoops of bustello cappuccino) before big dunk sessions.

Currently the only supp I take (and not consistently enough) is Lignang Flax Seed Oil by Barleans: https://www.barleans.com/flax-oil.asp#.html

for the omega 3? any particular reason why you use flax over fish oil? I seem to remember reading something about flax containing more ALA and not so much EPA/DHA compared to fish omega 3.

After every workout I take a protein shake consisting of nesquick milkshake powder, milk, gold standard whey protein and 5g of creatine.

you mix nesquick + whey protein!? same flavor or?

Yes, same flavour, strawberry.
I got bored of chocolate, I can never get bored of strawberry.

Boxing / klitschko vs fury - Spoiler alert
« on: November 29, 2015, 03:49:28 pm »
What happened with klitschko, fury was ok not enough to defeat klitschko, he was feinting a lot, hitting some jabs jumping in hands at his side alot, but klitschko, why... he was falling for his feints alot, he has fought alot of short opponents he had no good game plan against the tall fury that it must hae intimidated him and that is when he lost before the fight started, until the later rounds he started taking more risks, he should know that fury is not that good of a counter puncher that he can let his hands go and use his jabs to get him off balance, but no he was cautious way too much, he just degrades him alot.
If there was a rematch, I hope klitschko does better and more active.
smh.  :uhhhfacepalm:

I read about the DC Sniper story and remembered when Adarqui was in big trouble when he was running in the streets in Florida at ~3 AM and he was about to become a gang initiation shooting victim.

Well the gang initiation thing happened, but it was ~1 AM. I ran faster than Usain Bolt that night. That dude probably would have caught up with me in my current state - definitely not when I was jumping 35+ and squatting every day :)

I don't do that anymore. I'm running in the dark again, but during normal human activity hours (so lots of people out on the streets).

 :almostascoolasnyancat:

:o You experienced that!, must have been before I joined. Gang initiation shooting victim, that is fu**ed up.
Must have been scary as shit. Did they chase you?
damn!  :highfive:

surprised, took 5 HR's shortly after waking up:

15s: 11 (44)
15s: 11 (44)
15s: 11 (44)
15s: 11 (44)
60s: 46

promising.

What do the numbers represent? what is HR?

Danny garcia will fight robert guerrero on january on pbc but not much detail given.
if robert guerrero brings his aggressive style from the fight he had against berto, his other good fights then he might be a good match against garcia. ruben guerrero vs angel garcia will bring some comedy.

cool. guerrero didn't fight so great against aaron martinez though, so that's a bit concerning for this fight. Guerrero is going to fight Garcia at 140 or 147? I imagine 147.. Garcia trying to get some huge $$ fights, nice.

147 is stacked:

http://www.iboboxing.com/rankings/147.html

It's going to be 147, he vacated the lightweight title, he is trying to merge into the 147 limit.

Workout
60m sprints with head wind medium/high
     1. 8.75   Left lead leg
     2. 8.75   Right Lead leg
     3. 8.72   Left Lead leg
     4. 8.84   Right Lead leg

LOL you think the head wind is a factor at those velocities?  Remember, it's proportional to square of velocity...  Why even switch legs?  Figure out what's comfortable and stick with it... too many variables is bad... ignore the wind, it doesn't matter!

glad to see you back. I don't really know the difference between head wind and tail wind, my guess is that head wind is when the wind blows towards you and tail wind is when the wind is assisting your run, just my 2 cents. I mention the wind so as to let the person reading my journal know that my time was affected by the wind, it was really heavy wind.

head wind is proportional to square of velocity?

i didn't see it yet but i saw the results..

adarqui :highfive: seifullaah73

i heard the vargas/miuara fight was insane.

 :highfive:
It was insane, what an amazing fight, it was exactly as we predicted.
You definitely need to see it.

Spoiler alert

Cotto was boxing at the beginning throwing combination and was on his feet most of the time, but only a few of his punches would make some sort of impact alot of them canelo could walk through. canelo was finding his rhythm and landing his powerful punches, I knew he was not good on his feet so he was flat footed, but he is powerful and can cut the ring well and can just attack, and I loved his signature move on the night, the left uppercut i think, he would use it all the time. cotto had a good jab but that started to fade as canelo moved forward making it hard for cotto to backup and jab. cotto had moved alot in the fight. I knew it would end up like this, canelo was just getting better and better. Cotto was fading, he had no effective power and man canelo's reflex he would counter so brilliantly and his dodging and weaving at a point when just standing, man canelo was really good and then towards the end of the fight canelo was dominating cotto, roach just never did anything except for just motivate him, no new skills. Last round was action packed, canelo just let loose, cotto moving alot and was hoping for knockout but was happy with the result and the fight.

Canelo should face ggg but i don't think canelo will.

the vargas fight was intense, vargas on first round with the powerful punch that nearly toppled miura, wow the fourth round knockout from miura, he started picking it up and did really well nice combinations and punches. loving the one two punches from miura not very defensive but he is on the offensive alot vargas cannot get to him much. alot of hard hitting from miura not alot of boxing. just hard hitting, wow then vargas caught miura, miura trying to hold on but vargas just letting loose and the match was stopped.

nice! thanks for the recap. can't wait to check out the replay on Saturday.. I think klitchko fights saturday too? I forget.

check out this epic counter/slipping from Canelo:

Excellent, canelo had awesome slipping and countering like in that link and that was the uppercut i was referring to, he would use that alot as he was effective.
yes wladimir is fighting this saturday.
