Introduce Yourself / Re: Hi I'm Jack
« on: September 30, 2010, 12:37:38 am »
Hello Everyone,

I thought I would introduce myself. My name is Jack and I am a fitness enthusiast from Melbourne Australia with a passing interest in vertical jump improvement. I really only visit this site for the fitness chicks thread, the funny YouTube videos, and also the Call Em Out thread (I am waiting to see if I get a mention). Also I visit because I think Andrew is a funny f*#ker and am REALLY hoping James Smith visits here by accident.

I only really visit here because of the fitness chicks thread also :d

I hope he visits too, that would be great.. SHUT EM DOWN VERSION 2.

All jokes aside Andrew I really like your forum. I like that it is so politically incorrect and a fun vibe about it, but you also have some interesting training ideas. Great stuff.

Cheers

Jack

thanks man, it's been great seeing you around on this forum lately!

I was a bit bored and plus I wanted to give some props to Andrew for his great site. I am going to give him a shout out to my list when i next finish an article and send out my email.

*bows to jackw*, appreciate it man!

Hi Andrew

you shouldn't be so hard on the undulating ropes. I have a set I use with my clients and they are a cool conditioning tool. The people I train like them because it is fun, easy on the joints, and really hard work. For people who have leg injuries, or need to take it a bit easy on the lower body for a while it is a great alternative.

When the weather gets warmer here in Melbourne I plan on doing some conditioning circuits using my prowler (lower body obviously) and the ropes (upper body). I can't see them helping your vert much (unless you need to drop some weight), but for people who need grip strength and general shoulder/upper body strength endurance such as say - an MMA fighter, it would be a good training tool.

cool, ya they look fun

That said, I am with you on the skipping rope. I love mine and wish I could get more people using them. I have just ordered a weighted one and am looking forward to having a play around with it.

jump rope is legit! I have a weighted rope, I actually find it easier than my non-weighted, because non-weighted spins faster.

I am voting for you being a grouch. So is the Thinker. ;D
Jack

The Thinker hates me because I exposed his squat numbers.

its like dunking and jumping very high...

when im just alone in the court...

i can only touch the rim...

but when like my parents or some cute girls watch me play... or even just your friends...

from 30 inch... you gain like 6 inches immediately! then grab the rim!

its true man!

especially if other players want to have jump contest... then can get the net, backboard, touch the rim. etc...

then boom... you grab the rim or dunk... everybody goes like... "dude, thats not 10 feet regulation" or "the rim is bent"...

HATERS! LOL.

ya im the same way man.. when i'm by myself i get up whatever, but when there's tons of people around, a good 3-4" or so... i've always been that way, always perform better when people are around/watching.

peace man

HAHAHAHA u get into the weirdest of situations!

i always wondered why u'd need a knife out, but now i think u need one of them john rambo types, those mofos with the serrated reverse edges.

ya man........ some crazy shit/people out there.

i stopped walking with my rambo knife because if i get pulled over with it, that's a felony........ lol

now i carry a smaller, legal knife ;d

would that be abt 10% bf?

definitely looks 10% or lower, like 8-10% or so

19109
i think lean ness levels are at most just a hair. i see myself in the mirror in the morning as a barometer, and the last 2 bottom abs are just a hair less defined as compared to then, if i remember correctly.

but to be able to gain like 10-12 pounds of mass in 2 months is kinda amazing to me.

much thanks for the amazing programming adarq!

np man, that was definitely some great mass gain, we just have to keep getting stronger now.

first pic from sometime back, 2nd pic was just now.
1st pic abt 65kg, 2nd abt 70.

4odd kg of what i think is mostly muscle, so the last GPP phase was quite good in some aspects.

i get more trips to the line these days too, from being able to muscle up shots to get a shot foul CALL when im attacking the rim, instead of inbound passes.

im still damn unhappy though, my numbers tho not awesome as conpared to guys/monsters like rip, rutger, flander, chris, are still pretty decent in their own right.

but they're getting jumps around 40, while im still stuck in the low to mid 30s. fuck. i couldnt care less if i squatted 80kg, if i could get up to 40 man.

i see your frustration and i'm also frustrated, but we're still in the program, not yet peaking.. we're in strength phase, trying to bump that squat/lifts up good (safely), which prepares us for those sessions consisting of singles/more power stuff etc..

the last actual ME jump session you did was on september 13th, or am i wrong? i mean, we want to get in some max jumps at least 2x/week, not just the tucks/dj's/basketball, those max jump sets are pretty important..

don't get discouraged right now mang, we're still trying to put everything together, btu those jump sessions are really important and need to be a nice amount of max effort jumps.

peace!
