I usually eat at least an hour before any session. Yesterday I had an early session since there was no school. Eggs with onion, tomato and bell pepper and some spinach and green tea. Hydration wasn't too much of an issue yesterday. But even when I hadn't eaten much, the first day back in training after being at the hospital every evening, the same thing happened, but I only dry heaved. The food is definitely more than I used to eat, but it's not like I'm stuffing myself every meal. By the time I get to my session I feel pretty normal. (Not hungry/not heavy.)

odd... hopefully this stops happening pretty soon, not sure about this.. usually people who puke during sessions of 400's (lactic work), they have a history of it.

Man, the guy got small as hell. He is really looking scrawny there and I liked it better when he performed his ugly but heavy squats, cleans, snatches and deadlifts. He used to have a decent bench, too.

ya he lost so much power..

A.P. Day 5

- WARMUP
- SPRINT WARMUP: 5x10 yard sprints

- REACTIVE WORK: SINGLE LEG BOUND PROGRESSION: 5 sets x 5 each leg
- SPRINT WORK:
Sprint 50m, slow down slightly to a fast jog for 100m, 400m pace for 150m.
        Rest 5 min.
        Repeat x 2.

- SHOULDER WARMUP
- DB BENCH PRESS: 4 x 8 w/ 50 lb DBs
- SEATED ROW: 4 x 8 @ 120 lbs. (used weight room machine. Freeweight suggestions?)
- S1: PULLUPS: 3 x 5 w/ +25lbs.
- S1: DIPS: 3 x 5 w/ +45lbs.

- STRETCH + PWO SHAKE

Still had some soreness in my right hamstring. It's feeling better every day though. I could feel that a few of my steps during the sprint workout were hitting the ground too hard, like they were heavy and not controlled. Right now I only feel slight soreness everywhere from sprint/upper body work but no excess. I feel like my body is handling lactic acid a lot better than before but I have a worse problem...

Quote
At a certain point in most longer distance sprint workouts (300m/400m work), my stomach gets upset and sometimes I'll dry heave. Twice I've thrown up. Until last track season I had never had that happen. Could it be a hydration issue or something else? (unless I'm just pushing my body a lot more than ever, but that never used to happen so I'm not really sure)

hmmmmmmmmmmm... interesting.. the only thing i could figure, is you're just eating alot more than when you used to run sprint-distance, right? that could be the issue, just too much food intake for you right now, but i can't imagine that to keep happening.. it's odd regardless.. i would highly doubt it's from 'pushing yourself harder now' etc..

how long do you eat before those sessions, and what do you eat?

peace

bw = 152
soreness = hamstrings alot, quads a bit, chest, serratus, traps
aches/injuries = left knee a little
fatigue = high

diet for last 3 days has been:
- 3-4 protein shakes
- egg (3 eggs) sandwhich on double fiber bread

tmw gonna do do same thing but drop in a ground chuck burger.

workout #1: basketball stuff, 1.5 hours
- mostly light shooting around, working on shot form, too sore to do anything major..
- did a few jumps, couldn't get off the ground, legs so sore
- did about 45 min of 'full court' layups/jumpers etc.. dribbling down, layup, dribbling back, layup, etc.. taking small breaks (~5-10s) after each shot

workout #2: bunch of crap all night
- pullups/chinups 8 8 8 6 6 6 6 5 5 5
- glute bridges: 70, 100, 100, 100, 1:51-2:05am (100, 100, 100, 100, 100)
- calf raises: 40, 50, 50, 40, 40, 30,
- pullups/chinups are weak right now, i've been lazy with upper for a few months though so.. it'll get strong again fast, going to stick to it again
- glute bridges had lots of glute, but ham/adductor was crazy sore
- calf raises very powerful, felt like a feather

tmw gonna be more basketball stuff, then dips, ghr OR hamstring iso, and something else possibly..

heh.. peace

what is with the bodyweight work mang?

dno man, change of seasons got me bored/out of my mind.. i do stupid shit like this once in a while.. the weather has something to do with it i'm sure, i feel much different going out to train at night than during the summer, that cool fall autumn/fall feeling wigs me out.. it's odd.

9 October 2010

PHASE 1 - Cycle 2 - Stim Workout

Bodyweight@session : ~196
Injuries/aches : none
Soreness : none
Stim : 1 redbull 30 mins before lifting

MSEM SQUATS ( rest between reps ~45sec , rest between sets ~4min ):
3x1 : 209 - 209 - 209
3x1 : 231 - 231 - 231
3x1 : 253 - 253 - 253
209 & 231 sub-parallel , 254 half-squats.
Focus on form+depth ( controlled descend + looking slightly down ). Very happy with the 231 sub-parallel set.

MSEM BSS ( at smith machine , rest between reps ~20sec , rest between sets ~3'' )
3x1@220
3x1@264 , ( 3-rep-PR , all time PR is 2x286 )
220 was insane , free leg touching ground , going up rather explosive , "light weight"!
264 was great too , good form & speed up.

SINGLE LEG STANDING CALVE RAISES:
1x5@110
1x5@132
1x5@154
1x5@176

Great workout , caffeine + taurine + MSEM FTW!

very nice man!!
