paginini was a kickass violinist man! props for the vid!

Paginini's "La Campanella", a movement from his 2nd violin concerto.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TwmFcu6QAqI

Franz Liszt's "La Campanella", from his set Grand Etudes de Paginini (an edited piano transcription of Paginini's original work)

Performed here by Yundi Li: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEnfZjqMSy0

I personally prefer Liszt's piano transcription, as it's a lot more complicated. However, Paginini's original violin version is pretty cool too.

i've heard all the paginini vids on youtube lol, i love that one too, but i never bothered looking up franz liszt's compositions based on paginini's work.. awesome post, i'm going to search more lizst stuff now.. man it's crazy what these people can do musically, creating & playing that kind of music.. my dad kept telling me, yesterday, 'look up franz liszt and his piano versions of paganini's music'.

;d

bw = 151
soreness = hamstrings STILL
aches/injuries = none
fatigue = high early on, alot less later on (low)

nothing really, spent all day video editing something for some short-film im making.. was fun, but took all day.. planning on dropping a 10 minute video in a week or so.

workout: from 3am to 5am, pogo hops
- going light, really 'feeling the ground' as i land/take off, trying to just feel like a rubber band
- insane pop on my pogos......................................... submaximally i hit my head on my ceiling without even trying, never have I ever done that before.. so i had to be careful haha..
- so overall felt very bouncy, hopefully tomorrow my hamstring soreness is completely gone because i'm caffing up MAJOR to land some max height/hard dunks.

ate a bunch of chocolates today loool.. cadburry crunch > life.

standing vert: I couldn't use my right arm to gain any momentum for jumping but my standing vert was at all time high while being 235 lbs (yes chocolate milk makes you gain 10lbs in a couple day LMAO)

what the fuck? that's ridiculous.. good shit man.. i would have bet my house against you PR'n on vert given your pec strain.. that is some massive leg power considering suboptimal arm swing.

S.I.C.K <lmao>

I don't know what type of things are going through your head adarq , but.. it's true lol.
Attempt to do 10 ft. depth drop based on your own memories and trying to simulate Level-7 situation just to experiment the usefulness of them. I remember a kid breaking his leg trying to a 10ft+ depth drop doing it once, but... yeah.

did you just read the level 7 thread? if so, amazing right? :)

i'm going to try and video-reenact some of those eventually... that'll be dope as hell.

what's this about someone trying a 10' depth drop though, he actually tried a REAL DEPTH DROP? or he just dropped off something 10' and tried to stick the landing? i imagine the latter..

peace royal

Sweeet.

good work mang!@$!@

detective n00b3m.

i like alot of dubstep songs before the crazy dubstep shit kicks in.. that michael jackson dubstep song in the "ultimate highlight dunk mix - goku swag" vid i put up, man that shit is insane.. until it goes crazy dubstep, then it turns to crap.. but that one portion of it is amazing, one of the sickest songs for a dunk intro ever.. but ya i find lots of cool dubstep songs with only a portion of it i can actually use, but that one portion is worth it.

Thursday 10/21/10:

Nighttime workout. (yay?)

-Warmup
-Sprint warmup- 3x15m sprints.

-Double Leg Bounds: 3x5
-MR Tuck Jumps: 3x10
-MR Pogos: 3x5

-Squat: 3x5 @ 195 lbs.
-GHR: 1x5, 2x6
-BB Calf Raise: 4x10 @ 155 lbs.

-Box Jumps: 3x5 (For speed) @ 46 in.

-Cooldown Jog
-Stretch
-PWO Shake.

Edit: may have to try squats at 205 lbs. for the next 3x5. Maybe I'm just getting at squats or I'm getting stronger faster than I expected or some combination but adding 5 lbs. per week is starting to seem slow. We'll see how my legs feel tomorrow.

GHR is coming much nicer than expected. They're becoming easier. Of course the thing I use at the gym to do them has padding that goes just above my knees on the down but I'm still much much better than when I started.

things are still going very well, glad you are responding to this program.. we need to get you some bionic hamstrings over the course of a year or so, i'm talking completely ridiculous.. all of this ghr progress will transfer bigtime to your sprinting, things are going good.

nice nice!

just don't rush your progress too much on the lifts, i mean 5 lb a week is good because you're providing a new stimulus without closing in on complete failure, while still adapting and getting stronger.. i love getting stronger by using "submaximal progression".. if you feel like bumping it up 10 lb go for it, but make sure all 3 sets don't become a life or death struggle on the 5th rep, if so we have to back off a week and stay at the current intensity level, focusing on bar speed.

peace man

Oh my fucking goodness adarqui. He fucken bludgeoned him.

The second video is also pretty crazy.

second video looks worse to me, that kick has so much rotation on it, and he hit him with the heel, that's like getting hit with the end of a baseball bat full speed.

I like playing trumpet. I don't usually listen to much of it though, but this guy really knows how to get people's attention. I especially like how he's almost dancing while he plays.

i played trumpet too in middle school, for 2 years.. and piano when i was young.. i had this trumpet that the band instructor wanted to bad, since my dad is a musician someone gave my dad this ridiculous trumpet which people fiend over, looking back, that dude was foul, trying to get me to sell him the trumpet.. i forget the name.

if i could learn an instrument it would be violin, chello, or bass.. i probably spelled chello wrong... i guess i'm more into string instruments.

This guy is my hero. He could literally do anything that I can imagine wanting to do. Check out some of the vids. Most insane is the violin concerto for trumpet. (because he doesn't rest and I have no idea where he's breathing) Too bad there's not an actual video for it. My favorite is the third one where he plays with his twin boys.

damn that guy is amazing.. i'll admit, i'm not a fan of brass instruments, but that was insanely impressive..

BBall practice.
Jumps felt damn easy , almost efortless , but somehow i couldn't push for a max jump. So all i could do was easy submax , or thats how it felt! Weirdness...
Got 10'7'' ( 32'' ) with 1 , 2 & 3 steps , 10'5'' ( 30'' ) dropstep.

odd.. when did you do the jumps, after practice? how intense was it?

Nah , during it , random jumps between drills.... was like full court dribble , layup , walk back court , jump at the end...
Never have the chance to properly warmup for max jumps in bball practices , after doing a quick dynamic warmup and a few drills i hit some random jumps like that.

ah ok, just a bit too much overall fatigue i guess.. maybe some lactic acid shutting you down a bit.
