:o INSANE overlay!!!! Danggg dude...I hope you ingrain the motor patterns for tricks so that you're more comfortable performing 'em cuz you SURE AS HELL got the height for it!!! *MIND-BLOWN*

haha thanks man, to both posts..

ya about the dribbling, tonight idribbled, made yesterday look crappy compared to tonight.. i mean already so many movements are back, barely messed up tonight and worked on some crazy transitions/other moves.. i got into it real good with a few songs.. ya man i got to keep up with the dribbling, i want to get some vid of what i can really do, in that realm.. would be fun, cause i literally get into some dance-like shit which is pretty cool, i can go 3-8 minutes completely non stop etc trying to match a song.

i think finally im pretty focused on getting back into dribbling, mostly because i am trying to get into more areas for video content hahaha.. i do love it though, dno why i always stop for the last few years.

i'm focused now though :D

peace & thanks!

some random dribbling from tonight too, i need to stay consistent on this for at least 1 week so i can drop a cool video.. lol i barely dribble, eventually i could drop some really cool shit if i just stuck with it.. i got so many weird transitions/movements that people don't often see.. more like dancing with a ball... alot of room for improvement this is just some sub-optimal footage for the time being, just want to see how it looked, rendered.

http://www.adarq.org/forum/adarq-org-special-content/basketball-drills

going to upload a few dribbling clips from tomorrow too (not related to basketball-drills thread, taking 2 hours to render the vid), first time dribbling hard in zoom waffles, felt amazing.. loved it.. havn't been dribbling so i screwed up more than normal but i have to stay consistent, i could drop some fun stuff with in-game handles/dribbling videos... i want to drop a 10 min vid just swagging out dribbling, no messups ;d .. my movement seemed very good/explosive/stiff, i was happy with it.

10/23/2010

BW = 149.4 <-- i took a pic on my cam for fun, of teh scale
soreness = quads/glutes, mostly glutes, sheeeeit
aches/injuries = felt pretty good
fatigue = woke up 2pm, had a bad sleep, felt tired by 3pm, slept from 3:30 to 7pm, went to dunk at 8:30pm.. fatigue was way less when i woke up at 7pm, still felt sleepy until i got warmed up tho then i felt good

workout #1: dunks
- check pics abuv ^^^
- felt good initally, dropped off after like 10 jumps.. wind messed alot of my lobs up.. landed some nasty dunks, didnt think they came out good until i checked out vid
- saving vid of a few more sessions then going to put it in a mix or something.. so im saving this footage and last session etc.

workout #2:
- dips: 2, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 10, 8, 8, 8, 8, 5,
- half squat @ 148 lb: 225, 235, 235, 235, 235, 235,
- calf raise: 45 lb bar @ 30,30,30,30,30

squatting felt weak, glutes /quads just too sore.. good sign though, im strong right now considering.. hah

ok peace!!!!!

This one looks soooooooooo high. Look where your head is!!!!!!  :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

thanks man, ya i remember that jump specifically.. i had to jump backwards to try and stay really vertical to get the lob, then realized i havn't been thinking of jumping backwards which really helps me.. i remember that jump koz it felt damn high even though i screwed up the dunk attempt with the bad lob.

peace!@$!@

so i played today's game.
rim was slightly lower than the high rim i posted a vid of.

off a dropstep, i could get an inch above. this was like my 2nd attempt. (dropstep = 1 step, leading to the plant and jump right?)

needless to say, i was psyched, cos i couldnt do it previously. but during halftime, i tried a few RVJ, only managed at best 2 inches above.
sure i was fatigued, and my groin is sore like no other, but disappointing nonetheless.

well, good and bad about the jumps.. i mean those drop step jumps were good, if you got more jump sessions in during the week your jumping would definitely be better.. it's ok man just keep trying to get those sessions in, you have more in you..

so, i dropped off pretty quick again, after like 10 max jumps.. but i hit some good dunks and had some nice jumps.. im surprised, my timing was all off on lobs so i was frustrated plus it was windy, which messed my lobs up also.. glutes were sore all day today, quads still sore too.. man big things are coming i know it..

haha thanks guys....andrew I think the pec is a little bit worse then a strain, but its feeling better everyday.

ya well strain just implies tear, what level strain it is, you'd know more about that.. sounds like a pretty bad tear initially, but it's definitely not a full tear.

glad it's feeling better..

Hi guys after a few weeks of lurking in these forums I've decided that I wanna "learn" free-running/parkour is learn is the term but I'm a tennis/basketball player so I really do not know where to start for Parkour. If you guys have any helpful suggestions please post thxs.

sup man! I've tried to mess around with it a few times by myself, but got bored quickly.. the key would be to find a parkour/free running group in your area, which is highly likely now-days.. that sport has really exploded.

where do you live? search online, search youtube with your area + parkour/freerunning tags, hit up some parkour forums, try to find some people who are into that stuff.

if you can't find anyone, perhaps there is a gymnastics gym nearby? that would surely have people into 'tricking' which goes hand-in-hand with free-running.. you could practice all types of tricks/flips safely in those kinds of gyms.. that would be a very good place to start.

hope that helps somewhat, i don't do parkour/free running myself, though i admire what they do.

peace!

Lmao about this thread, i feel the same way, its that stupid west side craze that sucks everyone in to thinking box jumps are the be all to end all vert training exercise. Doing box jumps is what stuffed my back up for another 2 months, landing in such an unctrolled fashion(barely ever do you land on the balls of your feet, usually your whole foot all at once-which sends so much force through your body), with a massive flexed back, cant be good at all.

ya, sometimes i think louie simmons is trolling... built a good rep, then decided to preach about some dumb shit like box jumps & kneeling lifts being "amazing".. i think i hate kneeling lifts more than box jumps :)

KNEELING POWER CLEANS
KNEELING SNATCH
KNEELING BOX JUMPS <-- ok i hate those more than anything because they combine the two.

powerlifters love box jumps, crossfitters love box jumps & kneeling oly's & kipups.

i just realized crossfit bugs the shit out of me, they love box jumps, kneeling oly's, and kipups.. all 3 of which i created threads about.

ok i don't mind crossfit, but it's funny that they utilize those 3 exercises so heavily.
