People who have tiny calves usually have long tendons and can run fast and jump high.
they're uber small. ideas?

Thought I would give an update on the dosages I'm using and how I feel.
The past couple of days I have been taking 2g of Piracetam, 1 serving of Power Drive, and 500mg of DMAE. I don't seem to have any side effects off of this. I think I was experiencing some brain fog from taking too much Piracetam.
I have noticed a huge difference in my emotions... much wider range.... I can get extremely excited/amp'd listening to music or thinking about vert or something. Like for the dunk session yesterday I made a special vert mix that I was listening to on the ride over and of course during the session... on the ride over I had goosebumps.
But of course the trade off is I can get angry and become very irritable. I'm pretty sure this is mostly due to coming off of the ssri as these reportedly "blunt" your emotions. Although the irritability is annoying I would rather have the wide range as that is what makes us human. I will just have to learn to deal with the anger/irritability better which I think I will be able to by thinking... when I was on an ssri this stuff didn't bother me and I did fine. So I know what the feeling/mindset is like, just have to recreate it.
Edit: Something else I have noticed, not sure what this is from... "sweets" don't taste as good to me now. I have never been a big sweets consumer but I usually keep at least something like Oreos stocked. Today they didn't even sound good, I ate one then put them away. I've noticed the thought of eating sweets lately doesn't even sound good, I only do it because it is a conditioned habit that it is supposed to taste good but lately as I take the first bite I think to myself this doesn't even taste that good. Next time you eat something sweet really think about how it tastes and ask yourself if it really tastes that good... I bet sometimes you'll realize it doesn't and you're just doing it out of habit and because you have been conditioned to think it tastes good and it's a "treat" for you.
That might not make sense but it's just something I have definitely noticed lately.
Quote from: adarquijust saying, you can eat cleaner & gain muscle without putting on very much fat at all, you just need to eat more of the right kinds of foods (eggs/meat/chicken/milk/protein supp/green veggies) & less of the bad kinds of foods (junk/sugars/huge servings of pasta/bread etc).
That's exactly the plan. And to keep the insulin levels low. If I do it right, I could possibly lose fat and gain muscle at the same time as I have a lot of fat to lose.
The thing is - I find eating overrated and pure marketing. I don't believe one bit in nutrition. I feel like the body will take what it needs from whatever food and you're going to look the same no matter what.
THE REAL PROBLEM is that my left elbow is in severe pain because of the low bar squats... I couldn't finish my workout today because of it. There is continuous pain because I can't get the palm over the bar in the low bar position without extreme strain in the wrist (which is bent beyond belief) and elbow (which is stretched beyond belief).
Because in order to get a high caloric intake, I need carbs and shit. Fat is going to increase. I can't worry "OMG I don't want to gain fat, so I won't eat that and that". I'm already taking just a protein shake with no carbs, maybe I should plus on the carb thing with that as well.

QuoteThe advantage that I see for the olympic lifts and their variants over exercises such as jump squats is that they are better scalable and also involve a more complete pattern of hip flexion/extension. That does not mean that jump squats are a bad exercise, Kelly Bagget posted a nice variation here a while ago where you make jump squats and try to touch a band overhead with each rep. I like this idea since it makes progressing in that exercise a lot more quantifiable.
Hey, just came across this site a few days ago and I really like the atmosphere around here. Everybody seems to be very dedicated and friendly so I figured I might just register and benefit from all the knowledge that is accumulated on this site.
About me, my name is leonel and I'm a 18 years old 6'0''/190lbs volleyball player who wants to get his vertical up, get more explosive/agile all over and increase overall body strength. Short become the best athlete I can be! Looking better is definitely also a important factor to me. For those interested in volleyball, I'm a setter by the way.
Bad thing is that I have been dealing with knee issues for the last 2 1/2 years and am still not fully over it. But I somewhat found a way to work around it and managed to make some improvements over the last months anyways.
Might start up a journal soon even if I am currently inseason and can't do crazy volume, intense workouts at the moment. Partially to save my knees but also to stay as fresh as possible. Still trying to gradually improve my strength and get used to some low level "plyos" again. So I use the season for GPP.
Talking about my current athletic ability, I have to say that my vertical is pretty weak (24'' standing 27,5'' running) but this is about to change as I just recently started to train my lowerbody again. My upperbody is pretty strong though. Examples: Militarypress 180lbs x 1, Chinups BW + 45lbs x 5... Anyways my goal is obviously to surpass all thess numbers and I think a forum like this really helps with the motivation, guidance along the way, so here I am: READY TO WORK!
Peace!
lollll honey badgers.... don't let the honey in the name fool you
I don't think I can get much better at jumping itself at this point... my movement efficiency is very very high at this moment... it's the lack of strength that's the culprit. It won't be a tragedy if I shy away from jumping for a bit, especially as I gain weight and fat and jumping would only cause great joint shocks and will feel like a sperm whale. It doesn't make much sense in my book. If I were to do "some" jumping, of which I might, I don't believe it would do anything for me to be quite frank.
I won't suddenly forget to jump just because I won't jump for a couple of months.
What makes sense to me is to do some kind of hypertrophy work to increase the muscle size a bit, then follow it with strength work to improve the neural connection of the new muscle (yes I know, I simplify things but you get the idea) with some MSEM every now and then, cut down on the fat, get some plyos after I'm leaner and lighter and enjoy my gains. This is the medium term idea.
Well then why not do hundreds of bodyweight full squats?
WTF , that's unreal !!!![]()

What's your hand size? It looks like you're getting wrist at rim? Or is it just cam distortion?
Mind blown anyway!!!![]()

So is that like a daily view thing? ~3k views a day seems nice lol.
I think lazyness also comes from not really believe in what you're doing.
For example I'm lazy doing plyos because I don't believe they're going to help me at this moment.
not questioning it, but what's the pathway u think high rep 'strength' work increases ur max str? or what are u after with 400-800 lunges/session? cant even think at increasing work capacity through that
