Boxing / Re: Bradley vs Pacquiao III
« on: April 11, 2016, 07:34:24 pm »
Pacquiao did say that this was going to be his last fight before it happened, don't how true that is, but he wants to run for elections on may.

But regarding the fight, I would say it would probably more entertaining then their previous two fights because of the knockdowns even though the first one was more off an off balance shot, but the fight was good, bradley had a good gameplan, but later on he was losing track of his gameplan, not too much, but there was some points where he was effective but pacquiao was aggressive and explosive, but cautious as well, which I liked to see, would have liked to see more confidence in jumping in, but a great fight nevertheless.

Even atlas' shouting was not enough to get bradley to do what was required to win, as pacquiao is always moving and hitting at awkard angles, a better farewell fight then mayweather vs berto.

lol at the interview where they mentioned freddie wanted pacquiao to face canelo then mayweather.

I def enjoyed the fight.
 :headbang:

I also saw the joshua vs martin fight, a let down, martin was all talk, but nothing to back it up, really pathetic. He was undefeated with 88% knockout ratio lol, who was he fighting.

BW: 66.35 - 67kg (it would not stay still, it would count up then down, then up...)
Soreness: a little on the glutes

Condition: track was a little wet but unusable as they had a track and field event going on, so I had to do something in the gym. Also the pain on the upper outer glutes was a little sore so had to becarefull with the BSS.

Warm up
   toe raises
   dynamic and activation stretches

 Workout
light run on the treadmill, then switched the incline to 10% and ran at 19KM/H (I wanted 20 but it wouldn't let me) I ran up to 2 mins, so 30 sec on flat and 1 and half on incline at 19KM/H. It was tiring.

   BSS - 0kg x 5
          - 15kg x 5 - (slow and weary of not pushing the sore glutes from last workout)
          - 2 x 6 x 20kg
          - 2 x 6 x 25kg (made a mistake, after first set I realized i had accidentally picked up a 20kg dumbell and a 25kg dumbell, so i did another set with 2 x 25kg) it was irrating my sore glute so I was careful and slow, which turned out good with proper form and minimal pain.

   SLRDL - 0kg x 6
             - 25kg x 3 x 6

Cool down
   stretch
   walk back

Comment
my main aim was to try not to irritate the glute i think i sprained but was very painful, so did not want to irritate so it was slow and light. Track was being used for competition, so couldn't do my usual runs.

Rating: 4/10

I used to love watcing pacquiao fights, but slowly by slowly he is starting to become irrelevant in some way, I don't really have the same support as his fights since his third marquez fight and then after the mayweather fight, maybe he has been out of almost a year that i dont find him to be the same fighter, but tonight could change that.

bradley had injured his leg twice for both pacquiao fights, bad luck, the second fight he seemed to have figured him out but then his path diverted, but this will make one of them relevant again.

did you figure out what was wrong with that piece of code?

Date: 02/04/2016
Soreness: Lower body
Injury: gluteus medius or maximus.

Condition: sunny day with some light winds, dry track, it was a good day

Warm up
uphil walk 20min help ease some of the doms
   A walk, skip and run x 2 x 20m
   lateral leg swings x 10
seated cross legged iliopsoas stretch x 20 sec

Workout
   30m sprints alt leg
      - 4.22  Left leg
      - 4.19  Right leg
      - 4.22  Left leg
      -4.28   Right leg
      - 4.22  Left leg
      - 4.22   Right leg
      - 4.28   Left leg
      - 4.22   Right leg

    toe raises x 10

hip, glute, hamstring, calf activation and mobility drills

    BSS x 0kg x 6, 15kg x 6, 25kg x 6 Right leg, 25kg x 3 Left leg
      - Failed, right leg was fine, but with the left leg, the glute was so painful to do raise up, every rep it become more sore, that i could not continue, after i could not do bw bss because my glute was sore, the part of the glute that is painful is the area when you sit legs forward, rotate lower leg from knee to foot towards your body (bring your foot towards your body so your shin is perpendicular to the other leg forming a 4, the stretch you get in the upper gluteus area that links with the iliopsoas is the one i think i sprained, i can't rotate my lower leg inwards. i think it is the top of the gluteus maximus. So I had to stop and it was hard to walk like limped a 20min journey, which turned to a 35 min limp back, it was downhil so better.

Cool down
stretch quads, hamstring, hips, tennis ball foam rolled my left gluteus maximus
limp back - more like a waddle, but avoiding placing weight on entire left leg for too long.

Comment
basically what i said above, had major doms from last workout, until today a little better, the uphill walk helped ease it, during the runs the pains were still there mild. but once i did the bss making sure of staying upright, it was a little struggle to stay upright and balance as well.

EDIT: the spot is close to the hips then directly top glutes.

agree the broner fight was as i expected it to be, and as you said, meh, he is too big for theophane, theophane had the wrong game plan, he is the smaller fighter so i would have like to see more movements but later during the rounds broner started to slow down giving theophane a chance to do something but towards the last rounds where he definitely hit theophane low, he starts running and ref looking at him, he signals to the ref lol, trying to say he got low blowed he should have pointed low instead of what he did and the ref stopped it lol, but it was just a bad match, theophane might have had a chance if he boxed more but i didn't see that ability in him. hah yeah, what a stupid call out from broner, he doesn't deserve it, beating theophane did nothing except keep him relevant, but adrien was fighting the same like he always does had counter punch ability and big guy but it works on some and it doesn't work on some and it worked on theophane. it was awfull plan of theophane to attempt alot of overhead punches like maidana did, and he missed. a bad match. it would be disgrace to mayweather if he accepted.

wow davis is powerful, cut avila, brutal uppercut and he had good reflexes to dodge the punches. the brutal combo from davis when avila was on the ropes, nearly ended it there. then the brutal ko. then the sequence of uppercuts to end it man oh man.

i like easter's style, he throws double combo's a lot and that knock out that put mendez on his ass like sat straight down against the ropes lol. fast and accurate.

good fights except for broner, which was a little average

This workout in my opinion is more tougher than the endurance workout I did, as I am weak in terms of lower body strength and this requires more mental energy then endurance running imo.

Date: 30/03/2016
Weight: 66.40kg
Soreness: gluteus maximus, quads, hamstring (weak lower body)

Condition: some sunny moment, windy moments, wet track, a little cold

Warm up
   walk uphill to track
   a walk, skip and run x 2 x 20m
   lateral leg swings x 10
seated cross legged iliopsoas stretch x 10 sec

Workout
   30m ME sprints x 8 (4 each leg)
      - 4.44  Left leg - messy run in terms of no big strides at start just an all out run from start to finish
      - 4.15  Right leg - better
      - 4.2    Left leg - don't exact as when i checked the stopwatch it was still running and had reached 35 seconds.
      - 4.22  Right leg
      - 4.32  Left leg - wind had picked up
      - 4.31  Right leg
      - 4.15  Left leg - better
      - 4.28  Right leg - bleh

    heel walks
ankle hops 2 x 8 - my shins front and inside just became painful for each hop
tuck jumps 2 x 8 - my shins again became sore for every ground strike as i jump on the balls of my feet.

activation and mobility stretch - single leg glute bridge, calf dorsiflex stretch, hip stretch, hamstring stretch

    BSS 0kg x 6, 17.5kg x 6 (a little struggle), 35kg x 3 FAILED, 30kg x 2 x 6 (better but still some leaning so will have to go down to 25kg and progress)

    SLRDL 0kg x 6, 30kg x 3 x 6 (comfortable, legs feel shaky from BSS)

Cool down
general lower body stretch - calf, quads, hips and hamstring
walk back - missed the bus, walked on shaky legs

Comment:
will leave comment when i get back

in the eubank jr fight, chris blackwell suffered a serious beating he is in an induced coma with bleeding in the brain from the fight

damn :/

still good that he told him not to hit the head, but it doesn't seem like he was trying to prevent further damage on blackwell.. IMHO

as I do remember hearing eubank sr telling his son to aim for the body, which I think he was trying to stop the fight and maybe save the other fighter, but I don't think his son might have listened all that much as he was still throwing the uppercuts but the punches to the head was less powerfull, maybe listened a little, but i recall the corner telling him that you do it your way as if they didn't want to listen his dad, which i think they feel was responsible for his lose to saunders. my 2 cents

in the eubank jr fight, chris blackwell suffered a serious beating he is in an induced coma with bleeding in the brain from the fight, chris eubank himself told eubank jr to aim for the body as he was being beaten severely. I am going to watch the entire fight and see again but i remember blackwell fighting back so i understand why ref didn't stop it.

i missed eubank jr.

I'm actually looking forward to Bradley / Pacquiao 3.. I DON'T THINK Bradley actually DESERVES a third fight, but considering he suffered injuries to his legs in both fights and still made it competitive, a third fight could be interesting. Especially now that Bradley has ATLAS in his corner, seems like they are made for each other. I just hope Bradley stays healthy in that damn third fight so we can really see him go to war with pac.

pc!

I watched the last three rounds of the eubanks fight.
but i agree with you, bradley doesn't deserve it, a bad choice, I think atlas can light a fire under bradley and make it competitive but this might lead to bradley going to toe to toe which will go badly for bradley, if he can stick to boxing, I think he may be able to pull off an upset like in the second fight, but bradley just focussed on power later on the rounds. I want to see how pacquiao performs, since his mayweather fight.

Probably LBSS's dunk did it, last time i checked it had 10 likes.

in your videos and i have seen other dunkers either wipe the bottom of their shoes or apply something to the bottom of the shoes, is it dust so to make it grip more to the floor type used on courts.

I watched the kell brook fight and as expected a waste of my time, just a mandatory, kell gained absolutely nothing but an undeserved W over a weak opponent.

chris eubank jr, not really interesting guy to watch but he is improving

and lastly the ppv ward vs barrerra the one i had my eyes on, the undercard was almost putting me to sleep, but there was action from both fighters jo jo diaz is very quick and has fast combinations that he rocked valez i think his name was, with some good shots and was suprised to see him just keep coming forward using the wide head movements just smothering diaz and cut him at the side of the eye and it was effective to some degree. but diaz won it.

then the main event, andre ward being one of my favourite fighters, this time in the light heavy weight division, he was powerful and still had his cat like reflexes and power but not so much on his toes a little flat footed, but that knockout was awesome, barerra was built tall and looked dangerous but he did not show it, his defence need improvement no head movement, he would try and just overpower him as he is the bigger fighter and looked taller and has a bigger reach but expected some more boxing but it didn't happen as he is a powerful type of guy. well deserved win for ward, but i don't think he is ready for kovalev he is just a destroyer.

for me I love creating a nice GUI for the software I code. But I do not like coding the UI.
