No run, old people on the track and dreadmills were taken up.

they take up the entire track?? lol.

Run: 1.94 miles
I ran from the gym to town and back, car said 2 miles but I guess it was a bit shorter, next time I will go a bit further

First mile was 9:23 pace and second woulda been 10

It's a lot of hills, not very big but enough to jack the heart up and it's a different stimulus compared to my road.

I'm happy with 9:23 cuz I felt like garbage the first mile and my phone was bouncing around a lot so I slowed down to stop it.

nice!

i miss my "hills".

I love stairs, so much use for training, box jumps increasing the number steps every time till you reach your limit. stair runs.

I right now use it as to increase explosiveness in my sprint start by placing my front leg in a sprint start on the step and as quickly and as powerful as possible explode up using the front leg and reach a certain step.

nice!

yea i used to love running stairs.

used to run them a ton when i worked at memorial sportscenter, we were in a hospital complex which had 6 flights at the parking garage. even with only 6 flights, such a good workout.

disgusting

he's detaching for a while.

sounds like he has too much "baggage" attached to running.. definitely can take the purity/enjoyment out of it.

sounds kind of wrecked in this vid.

sux :/

i have water in my ear right now, from pool life. so annoying. ;f

last 3 days: 145 lb.

eating: very clean/good, also with chopsticks.

08/18/2019:

10:00 AM: yard work (~4hr) /// more push mower lyfe
- https://www.strava.com/activities/2630653495
- lost well over 10 lb of water. by the end of the 4 hours, with a gallon of water hydration throughout, i was still -9 lb than in the morning when i woke up.
- that's nuts..
- that push mower really gets you drenched hah.

08/19/2019:

10:00 PM: swim: 35-40min
- non stop swimming (something to stay afloat and move around), while constantly throwing dog toys.
- was pretty tough by the end. didn't feel that bad until i actually went to get out of the pool, then felt kinda lightheaded/weird.. body wasn't used to that kind of exercise.

08/20/2019:

08:00 PM: light swim: 24min afloat ::: did double this yesterday.
- easier than yesterday but fatigued a bit in the shoulders/arms
- feels really good
- back/hips/legs/body feels really loose after.. kinda of mobility-ish.

wore my watch to see if i could get any good data. seems like it ignores HR for swimming. odd. maybe it can't measure in the water. HR was ~80ish throughout, so probably inaccurate. but prior to going in, standing/walking HR was 84 soo..

first tracked swim workout hah!

pizza from last weekend:

Sigh. Had to take a week off due to some crazy work scheduling/these stupid headaches/family duties. That said....my L knee pain came back somewhat. Dropped weights and spent a few days doing rehab circuits and it seems better now. So tonight it's back to the weights. I did check my FS and conventional deadlift on Saturday after a short warmup. 295 FS and 405 dead moved easily with no sleeves/wraps/belt. Sound sgood but my weight is still a fat ass 195lbs. Time to add some sprinting cardio to the end of workouts I REALLY wanna be back around 185.

Goal: lose 10lbs by Thanksgiving. Nice slow cut to maintain strength I hope.

Keep grinding yall

-10 lb by thanksgiving, +10 lb the day after thanksgiving. :<  8)

Haven't journaled much lately, workouts have been haphazard.  Taking a break from the ATG stuff, the KOT squats aggravated my knee,

ah damn that sucks about the knee.

Quote
and I want to add in more jumping into my workouts.  Just ordered 'applied sprint training' by James Smith the other day.  About 1/4 of the way through it.  Good explanation of Charlie Francis type workouts, but it's a tough read.  Also just got 'speed strength' by Joel Smith, gonna start on that one next.

I really need to focus on my lower leg (foot/ankle/calf) strength and elasticity, aerobic conditioning and shoulder health.  Started a high/low type set up yesterday, so we'll see how it goes.

BW:  didn't weigh

Workout 1:

Warmup:  marches, skips, high knees....forward and backward

Was planning on a few short sprints afterward, but achilles felt tight, so did some ~30 meter buildups instead

Hi/lo pogo jumps
Med ball chest pass
2/1 pogo jumps
Rotational med ball throws

Squat 3x2
Incline Bench 3x3

ATG ankle exercise
Shoulder dislocates

Workout 2:

SL stand
ISO pushup
ISO BSS
Scap pullup
ISO calf

i remember James Smith on CF forums, smart guy, also very combative iirc. hah.

08/17/2019:

aches/injuries:
- sacrum/tailbone inflamed.
- right glute/sacrum/hamstring origin injury acting up a bit today.

bw:
- 149

dinner:
- chopsticks + saute'd broccoli/red chili/green bell pepper + white basmati rice + salt + soy sauce (dipping), roasted/salted almonds,
- milk chocolate raisins

10:30 AM: light: 1h20m ::: (canopy'd mulch trail)
- decent run, felt good
- forrest is humid as fu*k. more humid than outside the forrest.. lol.

two pool sessions: dog fun + rehab-ish workouts
- james jumps in easy now.. it's awesome. he just jumps in, usually leaping as far as possible into the pool, then he swims fast, going right for me, trying to get the ball that i'm taunting him with etc.. he swims so fast it's nuts. i try to escape sometimes and i can't even begin to escape, he's on me so quick. hah.
